  • The purposes of this study were to examine if there is a relationship between elderly people's anxiety towards death and their reactions to the Star-Wave drawing, and to verify if the Star-Wave drawing was a good enough tool to measure elderly people's degree of death anxiety. The subject for this study were 307 elderly people (male 127, female 180) over 60 years of age with no physical and cognitive damage, who were residing in Geongsan city and attending colleges or welfare centers for the aged. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN(ver. 12.0) program, and factor analysis, correlation analysis, Chi-square test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and $Scheff\acute{e}$ test were utilized. The results showed that factors showing different levels of anxiety towards death in the Star-Wave drawing were the total harmony of the drawing, drawing style, repetition of wave, size of the star, and location of the star. In particular, the group that drew the Star-Wave drawing with total harmony felt less anxiety towards death than the other group. Therefore, the results of this study suggested a possibility of the Star-Wave drawing to be used as a good tool that could diagnose the elderly's degree of anxiety towards death.

  • In this paper, we reported on a high performance MMIC star mixer for millimeter-wave applications. The star mixer was fabricated using drain-source-connected pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT) diodes considering the PHEMT MMIC full process on 2 mil thick GaAs substrate. The average conversion loss of 13 dB was measured in the RF frequency range of 81 GHz to 86 GHz at LO frequency of 75 GHz with LO power of 10 dBm. The RF-LO isolation characteristics are greater than 30 dB and the input 1-dB compression are approximately 4 dBm. The total chip size is 0.8 mm ${\times}$ 0.8 mm.

  • This paper aims at giving an overview of the developments researchers at the Department of Civil Engineering, Aalborg University, Denmark (DCE), have been involved in within the field of wave energy utilization in Denmark over the past decade. At first a general introduction is given followed by a more thorough description of three ongoing projects. These are Wave Dragon, Wave Star and Seawave Slot-cone Generator. Common for these projects are that they are being, or will soon be, tested in real sea and have benefited from the Danish Wave Energy Program. The work by the department on these projects involves substantial laboratory testing, numerical simulations and real sea prototype testing.

  • This study investigated the effect of K-POP characteristics on Korean consumers' liking, intention of listening and purchase intention of Korean products. For this purpose, K-POP characteristics were classified into musical characteristics and star characteristics. The results of the study are as follows. First, both musical characteristics and star characteristics of K-POP characteristics had a significant effect on favorability of Korean Wave content. Second, both musical characteristics and star characteristics of K-POP have a significant effect on K-POP listening intention. Third, both musical characteristics and star characteristics of K-POP characteristics had a significant effect on the purchase intention of Korean products through Korean Wave content. However, the relative influence of star characteristics is higher than K-POP characteristics. The results of this study will be useful data for promoting Korean pop among Chinese consumers.

  • With the growth of the Korean Wave and the importance of the fandom economy, it is necessary to consider the competitiveness of the Korean Wave with its fandom viewpoint. Particularly, the fandom phenomenon shows the characteristics of identifying the favorite star and actively acquiring and sharing related information in the fan community. Therefore, in this study, we examined the influence of Korean national image on consumers' intention to use Korean contents, and examined the mediating effects of fandom identification among Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese consumers. As a result of the empirical analysis, cultural image, corporate image, and product image were found to have statistically significant influence on the intention to use Korean Wave contents. In addition, star identification and pan community identification showed partial mediation in the effect of cultural images on the intention to use Korean contents. The results of this study suggest that the Korean Wave is a leading factor for the continuous development of Korean Wave, not the halo effect point for improving the national image, and the mediating effect of the fandom phenomenon is tested empirically.

  • We summarize various aspects of the interaction of supernova remnants (SNRs) with the ambient medium. We discuss the evolution' of SNRs in environments sculpted by the progenitor star, and summarize the factors on which this evolution depends. As a specific example, we consider the evolution of the medium around a 35 M$\bigodot$ star, and the interaction of the shock wave with this medium when the star explodes as a SN. We also discuss the interaction of Type Ia SNe with the ambient medium, especially the formation and growth of hydrodynamic instabilities.

  • Recent observation of the neutron star merger event, GW170817, through both gravitational wave (GW) and electromagnetic wave (EM) observations opened a new way of exploring the universe, namely, multi-messenger astronomy (MMA). One of the keys to the success of MMA is a rapid identification of EM counterpart. We will introduce the strategy for prioritization of GW source host galaxy candidates. Our method relies on recent simulation results regarding plausible properties of GW source host galaxies and the low latency localization map from LIGO/Virgo. We will show the test results for both NS merger and BH merger events using previous events and describe observing strategy with our facilities for GW events during the ongoing LIGO/Virgo O3 run. Finally, we report the result of follow-up observation on, the first neutron star merger event, S190425z, during LIGO/VIrgo O3 run.

  • In this paper, two large current rectifiers are proposed based on two wye-connected autotransformers. The requirements of the ideal large current rectifier are analyzed, and it is concluded that the large current rectifier has a higher power density and a higher energy conversion efficiency when it is made up of two three-phase half-wave rectifiers and a wye-connected autotransformer. According to theoretical analysis results, the two novel wye-connected autotransformers are designed to feed two three-phase half-wave rectifiers. The two autotransformers can generate two groups of three-phase voltages with a 60o phase shifting, and their kVA ratings account for 95% and 80% of the load power, respectively. These values are less than those of a double star rectifier at 30% and 46%. From the input mains and output side, the power quality of the proposed rectifiers is the same as that of the double star rectifier. Some experiments validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
