  • The results of researching Jang's use of herb remedies through his book "Uihakchungjungchamseorok(醫學衷中參西錄)" are as follows. 1. Jang Seoksun's medicine is based on "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", "Sanghanron(傷寒論)", "Sinnongbonchogyeong(神農本草經)". And through constant study he brought to perfection his own unique medical theory. 2. He introduced Western medicine, and united it with traditional Chinese medicine. He perfected the Chinese-Western medical theory, by Chungjungchamseo(衷中參西) which means 'roots in traditional Chinese medicine, reference in Western medicine'. 3. He thought Onbyeong(溫病) was not an independent category of disease, but included it into the category of Sanghan(傷寒). So he used modified prescription of "Sanghanron(傷寒論)" to treat Onbyeong(溫病). 4. He expanded the category of remedy uses by using various compounds, such as minerals and animal compounds. He has also developed substitute remedies.

However, Kidney qi doesn't make average situation during that time. So, the function of five viscera and six entrails fails to be perfect and symptoms appear. I came to the conclusion through the survey of about 200 high school students(male and female) and the theory of oriental medicine the distinctive features (like migraine, amnesia, depression, dysphoria, inappetence, irregular menstruation) came out that time. I defined this distinctive symptoms in boys and girls at puberty ‘synthetic symptoms of puberty’. • Traditional Korean medicine and traditional Korean (Hanbang) nursing are very similar disciplines in terms of philosophy, values, and identity. Traditional Korean medicine views that harmonious and balanced human body and mental state can be formed through the flow of Qi and blood using meridians and acupressure points. This view can be applied to research, practice, theory, and education in Hanbang nursing. The meridian is a pathway through which Qi and blood, the energy necessary for life activities, pass through. Acupressure points are important meridians where physical, mental, and psychological health conditions appear as a response. Pressing and stimulating acupressure points to facilitate and communicate the flow of qi and blood in the meridians can create positive effects and enable the treatment of various symptoms and syndromes of our bodies. Hanbang nursing nursing, which is also based on the use of meridians, may be used to control various symptoms and syndromes and prevent and treat diseases. Currently, Hanbang nursing are growing along with the professionalism of Hanbang nursing practice, vitalization of Hanbang nursing research, and the development of Hanbang nursing education and theory. The growth of Hanbang nursing requires active participation of nursing scholars and efforts to converge beyond the walls of medicine and nursing.

  • Allopathic medicine has had a lot of limits though it has maintained the status of mainstream medicine, therefore these days there has been a growing interests in traditional medicine of East Asia. According to this trend, the integration between allopathic medicine and traditional medicine has become a hot issue and the need of mutual understanding on their physiology and pathology increases. However, understanding of traditional medical theory based on ying-yang, five phases, viscera and bowels is still difficult to be accepted to allopathic medical fields. Therefore, this research tried to investigate the similarity and differences of the structures between five viscera and organs. As a result, this research found that the investigation and understanding on viscera in traditional medicine or organs in allopathic medicine has in common in some degree. However, the integration and comparison between two medicines should be done cautiously because there still are the basal different points of understanding of human structure and function.
