환율과 경기가 우리나라의 대 동남아시아 항만 수출입에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Exchange Rate and Industrial Activity on Export to and Import from the Southeast Asia Via Korean Port)

  • 본고에서는 환율과 경기가 우리나라의 대 동남아시아 항만 수출입에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석을 시작하기 이전에 먼저 단위근 검정과 공적분 검정을 이용하여 변수와 모형이 안정적인가를 살펴보았다. 단위근 검정 결과 1차 차분한 시계열자료는 귀무가설의 기각에 성공함에 따라 Johansen 검정을 실시하여 적어도 하나의 공적분 벡터가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 공적분 벡터와 VECM을 추정하였다. 추정결과 대체적으로 가격변수와 소득변수의 부호는 이론과 일치하였다. 수출의 경우 수출의 환율탄력성의 경우 그 크기의 순서는 인도네시아가, 수출의 소득탄력성의 경우는 베트남이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 오차수정항 크기의 순서는 베트남이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 수입의 경우 수입과 소득의 환율탄력성의 경우 그 크기의 순서는 베트남이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 오차수정항 크기의 순서는 말레이시아가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 대부분의 국가들에서 수출의 환율과 경기탄력성보다 수입의 환율과 경기탄력성이 크게 나타남으로써 수출시장 확대에는 큰 한계가 존재함을 보여주었다.

국내 무역항 항로의 등부표 시인거리와 배치에 관한 이용자 분석 (The User Analysis for Visual Range and Arrangement of Light-buoy on the Channel of the Domestic Trade-port)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 무역항 항로에 배치되는 등부표의 최적 배치에 대한 기준을 설정하기 위한 기초자료로서 항해자들을 대상으로 등부표의 시인거리와 배치에 대한 선호를 분석하였다. 무역항의 각 규모를 감안하여 항만별로 약 $30{\sim}150$부의 설문지를 배포하였고, 총 356부의 유효한 설문지가 분석에 사용되었다. 육안으로 청명한 날씨의 주간에 부표를 인지하는 거리는 $2{\sim}4$마일이 55.0%로 가장 많았다. 부표의 배치방식에서는 양측 부표방식의 선호가 62.1%로써 가장 높았다 또한 부표의 전후사이의 선호 간격은 평균 1.09마일이었다 쌍안경 없이 시인할 수 있는 부표의 기수는 2기가 40.6%로 가장 선호되었다.

컨테이너선의 경로를 고려한 공 컨테이너의 분배 문제에 대한 연구 (Empty Containers Distribution Problem considering the Container Ship Route)

  • Today international trade through maritime transportation is significantly increasing. Due to this increase, shipping companies are faced with problems concerning the repositioning of empty containers from import dominant ports. The liner shipping service network has been provided to transport containers which load customers' freights. Container ships are moved on the liner shipping service network by observing the predetermined route and transportation time. This research deals with the empty containers distribution problem considering the container ship route. A mathematical model based on the mixed integer program has been introduced in this study. The objective is to minimize the total relevant costs of empty containers such as handling, leasing, and inventory holding, etc. Due to the complexity of the problem, a genetic algorithm has been suggested to solve large sized problems within a reasonable time. Numerical experiments have been conducted to show the efficiency of the genetic algorithm.

국가경쟁력 강화를 위한 SOC 투자 전략 (SOC Investment Promotion Strategy for Strengthening Global Competitiveness)

  • Korea is now the 12th largest economy in the world, surpassing its annual trade in the amount of $1 trillion, and it has joined the socalled 20-50 Club, becoming one of the seven countries in the world with capita income of more than $20,000 with population of 50 million. However it ranked 24th of the Global competitiveness index evaluated by World Economic Forum based on the basic requirements including infrastructures, efficiency enhances, innovation and sophistication factors, etc. The extensive and efficient SOC infrastructures are critical for ensuring the global competitiveness of each country. Effective modes of SOC facilities including quality roads, railroads, ports, air transport, etc will be able to reduce the annual traffic congestion cost as well as macro economic logistics costs in Korea, thereby the global competitiveness can be strengthened in the global market.

  • China has integrated maritime safety system which positively and effectively ensures safe navigation and environmental protection. This paper gives brief account on maritime safety rules and regulations, adminstrations and management mechanism, navigation aids and facilities, maritime communication and GMDSS etc. China is a developing country with fast economical growth. With a long coastline of 18,000 kilometers, and 5,000 more islands, China has a fairly developed shipping industry. China also sits in IMO Council as A member. In China , there are over 200 ports with an annual hadnling capacity of over 10,000 tons of cargo ; there are over 4,000 coasters and ocean-going ships with more than 3 million seafarers of which 1/3 being officers ; there are an aggregate gross tonnage 17 million gt for merchant ships. China ranks No.5 shipping country in the world as shown by Lloyd's Maritime Information Services Ltd. 1995. The Chinese shipping industry plays an important role in both domestic transportation and foreign trade. The Chinese government always attaches great importance to maritime safety . Since 1949, and from the adoption of reform-opening policy, China has gradually formed an integrated maritime safety system.

  • 전 세계 물동량 둔화 및 항만 간 경쟁이 심화되는 가운데, 항만의 환경규제 강화 및 자동화 및 스마트화가 요구되면서 항만산업의 비용증가 요인들이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 항만산업의 주요 주체인 우리나라 컨테이너터미널 운영사의 비용자료를 직접 수집하였으며, 이를 통해 컨테이너터미널 운영사의 비용 구조적 특성을 분석하였다. 터미널 운영 규모별, 지역별, 부두 특성별 비용구조의 차이점을 살펴보고 그에 따른 시사점을 제시하였다.

The efficiency of national maritime logistics for 29 ocean countries: using super-efficiency DEA

  • With the expansion of the global supply chain, the efficiency of maritime logistics is considered a crucial factor for countries' trade and competitiveness. Nevertheless, prior research has not thoroughly evaluated the efficiency of maritime logistics, including countries' ports and shipping capacities. Accordingly, this study examines integrated maritime logistics efficiency at the national level using DEA-CCR, BCC, and super-efficiency DEA. Furthermore, this study identifies a difference between the selected countries' maritime logistics efficiency and LPI (Logistics Performance Index) through Spearman's correlation test as an ad-hoc analysis. From this, Asian countries showed higher efficiency and European countries showed higher LPI scores. These results might be derived from this difference in port-city development patterns. Additionally, the main cause of inefficiency in Europe and Japan might be attributed to high fleet capacity of control. Consequently, this study can provide valuable implications for coastal countries to set more efficient directions for maritime logistics investment and policy.

A Study on Comparative Analysis of Maritime Security Programs - Focussed on TWIC

  • To improve maritime security and enhance international shipping commerce within US ports in addition to ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code), the TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) program is working on the maritime field from the October 15, 2008 in the United States. In this paper, the program is reviewed and investigated in terms of goal, benefit, solution, and related legislation so forth In addition, other maritime security programs including MMD (Merchant Mariner Document), FAST (Free and Secure Trade), SIDA (Security Identification Display Areas). and Air Cargo security program was analyzed and compared in order to obtain relationship and difference with the program in terms of enrollment frequency, list and method of security check, and profile of each program As a result of this paper, the program is mostly to improve maritime security, protect individual privacy, and enhance commerce rather than other programs.

  • China has experienced rapid economic growth and burgeoning trade since it began economic reforms and an opening policy. With this the amount of marine cargoes between Korea and China had been increased Recently this increasing rate of cargoes, the development of the Yellow Sea Sub-Region and the change of the Northeast Asian logistics network have acted as important factors of Korea's strategy to be the Northeast Asian logistics hub. This paper analyzes China's inland transport network to offer basic understanding on transport and logistics network in China. Therefore, the outcomes of this paper could be used as basic materials to further transport and logistics cooperation between China and Korea and to developing a more realistic plan to complete Korea's Northeast Asia logistics hub strategy.

  • Port, one of nation's key infrastructures, is a point of road and sea transports meeting. As a key base of inter-modal transportation systems, the port is of ever increasing importance for realizing nation's vision of making Korea as an economic and logistics hub in the Northeast Asia. At present, Korean ports handle 99.7% of gross trade volumes in Korea, which requires considerable attention on its safety issues. However, due to the critical characteristics of the port and insufficient attention paid to it, the port industry meets more disasters compared to other industries. Therefore, this paper tries to analyze the disasters happened at the port to have better understanding on its reasons, further to use as learned lessons to prevent from potential disasters that may arise at the port.
