Studies on Hg Contents in Korean Hen's Egg (한국산(韓國産) 계란중(鷄卵中)의 수은(水銀)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • These experiments were designed to study the Hg contents in Korean Hens Egg by origin, kind, organ, and cooking methods. The following samples were studied. Place of origin Seoul (Legon) Su Woun (Legon) Pusan (Legon) Ulsan (Legon) Tae Gu (Legon) Kwang Ju (Legon) Seoul (New Hampson) Seoul (Native) No of sample 12 12 12 10 10 10 10 10 The following result were obtained. 1. The Hg contents of hen's egg of Seoul origin was 0.087 p.p.m., that of Ulsan origin was 0.077 p.p.m.. Its contents of Tae Gu, Kwang Ju origin were 0.052 p.p.m. and 0.048 p.p.m.. High contents of Hg showed in egg that produced in large cityies ana industrial area. 2. For the kind of egg, the Hg contents of Legon kind was 0.087 p.p.m and that of Native kind was 0.031 p.p.m.. Its contents of Legon kind was higher than that, of Native significantly. 3. By the organ of egg, the contents of Hg in egg yolk was 0.064 p.p.m. that showed 87 percent Hg contents of whole egg, and its value of egg white was 0.009 p.p.m.. 4. About cooking methods, the contents of Hg in parboiled egg was 0.007 p.p.m., that of fried egg was 0.015 p.p.m.. Especially the cooked eggs were significantly lower than row eggs in Hg contents.

Identification of geographical origin of sesame seeds by near infrared spectroscopy (근적외 분석법에 의한 참깨의 원산지 판별)

  • Geographical origin of the Korean, Chinese and Japanese sesame seeds were identified very high accuracy by NIR spectroscopy. The NIR instrument of filter type showed the same accuracy of the monochromator scanning type to identify the geographical origin of the sesame seeds. In case of adulteration between the Korean and Chinese sesame seeds, the ratio of addition could be determined about 10% error level. The reason of identification of geographical origin by NIR spectroscopy, it was supposed to the difference, of oil cake substance.

  • The Chinese crude drug, 'Yong Dam (龍膽)' which is derived from the root of Gentiana plants of the family Gentianaceae, has been used as remedy for stomachic, intestinal catarrh, convulsion, etc. With regard to the botanical origin of 'Yong Dam', it has been considered to be Gentiana species of Gentianaceae, especially Gentiana scabra, but there has no pharmacognostical confirmation on it. To clarify the botanical origin of 'Yong Dam' from Korea, we studied on the anatomical characteristics of Gentiana species growing wild in Korea i.e. Gentiana scabra var. buergeri, G. uchiyamai, G. triflora, G. axillariflora var. coreana and of 'Yong Dam' from Korea on Korean market. Through our studies, the botanical origin of 'Yong Dam' from Korea was proved to be Gentiana scabra var. buergeri and Gentiana axillariflora var. coreana.

  • The shape and size of the various regions of the temporomandibular ligament were examined in 30 Korean cadavers, which were used for dissection in Seoul Dental College from 1970 to 1973. The results were as follows; 1. The shape of the temporomandibular ligament were as follows; a. Type I : fan shape (8mm in width between origin and insertion) - 20.2% b. Type II : fan shape (10mm in width between origin and insertion) - 70.0% c. Type III : fan shape (12mm in width between origin and insertion) - 10.0% 2. The length of the various regions of the temporomandibular ligament were as follows ; a. Length in origin - 13.4mm b. Length in insertion - 6.0mm c. Length in anterior margin - 25.8mm d. Length in posterior margin - 19.3mm

The effects of family of origin variables on marital conflict (원가족변인이 부부갈등에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the family of origin variables on marital conflict. Seventy five married couples living together for less than 10 years were chosen from Seoul and Suwon cities. These subjects completed Korean Version of Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale Ⅱ, Individual Separation Scale, Family Rules Scale, Korea Certificated Egogram, and Marital Conflict Scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired-t test, and hierarchical regressions. The results were as follows: First, husbands and wives were different from each other in triangulation, family rules from family of origin and marital conflict. While husbands felt more strongly about their family rules than wives, wives perceived triangulation, and marital conflict higher than husbands. Second, husbands' controlling ego state, individuation, and family rules explained sixteen percents of husbands' marital conflict. Statistically speaking husbands' controlling ego state positively influenced on husbands' marital conflict. However, both of husbands' and wives' controlling ego states explained twelve percents of wives' marital conflict, and husbands' controlling ego state was statistically significant.

Discrimination of Geographical Origin and Seed Content in Red Pepper Powder by Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopic Analysis (근적외선 분광분석법에 의한 고춧가루의 원산지 및 고추씨 혼입 판별)

  • Red pepper powder (Capsicum annum L.) is an important seasoning as a kimchi ingredient in korea and most korean consumer tend to eat the korean red pepper powder as the better than other oriental country such as China. Near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) was applied for discrimination according to geographical origin (Korea, China) of red pepper powder. The objective of this study is to determine if NIR technique could be used to discriminate between the korean red pepper powder and non-korean red pepper powder according to seed content and maxing ratio in red pepper powder by using the new method. Rapid, precise and nondestructive analysis method for determination of the geographical origin of red pepper powder by near infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics were performed. It has been observed discriminant analysis with PLS is adequate to determinate the geographical origin of red pepper powder. It tend to difficult the discrimination of geographical origin according to increase the seed content of red pepper powder. The accuracy of discrimination in mixed red pepper powder was range from 95.2% to 100%.

A Study on the Origin of the Misused Clothing Terms and the Analysis of the Meanings (오용되고 있는 의류용어의 원류와 그 의미 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the origin which have misused terms, analyze Its meanings and suggest the unified terms. The content of this study are as follows. The origin of the terms in western dress is different with the areas of cultural influence. Japanese occupied much more than other languages in the apparel industry after the civilization. and English has dominated in the educational filed since 1945 the Liberalization. French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch are added. These languages came to the clothing field via Japanese and English or directly from the countries. 망토(manteau프), 메리야스(medias스), 러닝셔츠(일) 라사(raxa네), 오트 쿠튀르(Haute Couture 프), 비로드(veludo 포), etc. However the words of foreign origin have misused or corrupted until now a days. 마이 (재킷, 상의), 노 슬립, 소데나시 (슬리브리스, 민소매) 넌라쟈(브래지어), 노타이, 노타이샤쓰(오픈칼라 셔츠, 넥타이를 매지 않은 셔츠) 와이샤쓰(드레스 ttu츠), etc. And also these terms are confused in using because of the word's diversity, the different nationality, change of the marking rules, and the difference between the education and production field terms. On the others hand, this study explained the differences between western costume and Korean costume as the clothing manufacture terms were translated to Korean. bodice-길, collar, neckline-깃, belt, sash-(허리)띠 And then the untied terms were suggested through the comparison production field and educational area (including schools and institutes). lapel, 라펠(학교용어) (학원용어), 가에리 (일) (의류산업 현장용어), 아랫깃(통일어) By the way, this study involved the origin of and misused teams in sewing and presented the unified terms. 미까시 (X)-미 카에시(일) - 안단($\bigcirc$), 이새(X)―홈줄임 ($\bigcirc$) As the above , the characteristics of clothing terms which have misused are Japans,;e, corrupt Japanese, false reports foreign words via Korean, Japanese, compound words of Korean and Japanese, compound words of English and Japanese. And also the words of foreign origin in clothing had the following tendency in the marking system. There are ellipsis of form, sex, timber, grammatical case '-ing', '-ed' in adjective and long vowels express to short vowels. We can see this phenomena as the rule of curtailment labor.
