The objectives of this study were to examine the utilization patterns of oriental medical care and to discover problems in its delivery. The data for this study were collected from a questionnaire survey mailed out from March 10 to April 9 1999 to 6.346 oriental medical clinic. The questionnaires were then distributed to two patients in each clinics. Of these questionnaires. 670 were completed and returned. The major statistical methods used for the analysis were the t-test. ANOVA, and x$^2$-test. The major findings are as follows: 1. Respondents reported visiting oriental doctors twice as often as they visited western doctors(All those completing the survey received the questionnaire at oriental medical clinics). 2. The number of reported visits to oriental physicians according to among gender, age, marital status, education, income and residence. Males, married respondents, the elderly and the residents of rural areas visited oriental physicians more frequently than females, singles, younger respondents and urbanites. Those people belonging to the middle income class and middle education level also more frequently visited oriental physicians. 3. There are several factors that restrict the utilization of oriental medical care, such as the limitation of the scientific diagnostic instrument use commonplace reliance upon western medical techniques, and the perception of high price for oriental medical care. It is very important to focus oriental medical care onto the fields of acupuncture, circulatory system disease, musculoskeletal system ailments, etc. to improve the utilization of oriental medical care. Other policies for the improvement of oriental medical care include the standardization of price, quality and quantity of oriental medicine.
Objectives: The objective of the study was to resolve various elements of conflict by presenting the results of the study and to help build an enhanced oriental medical service system. Methods: The researcher collected data from 12/15/2006 to 1/31/2007. A total of 1000 questionnaires were sent out to oriental medical doctors working at oriental medical facilities and the 15% (150 questionnaires) of them that were returned completed were analyzed. Results: 1. As to the proper proportion of oriental medical doctors to western medical doctors, they said it should be less than 20%. About separating the task of prescribing oriental medicine (herb) from oriental medical treatment, 80.7% of them were against it. 98.7% said oriental medical doctors needed the control of medical technicians. 2. 72.3% said they had no intention of taking the U.S. NCCAOM board to practice oriental medicine overseas. A majority (57.7%) were in favor of unifying oriental medical license with western medical license. 3. Oriental medical doctors had greater job satisfaction [than all oriental medical doctors number]. If they were to choose another occupation than oriental medicine they would consider becoming a research fellow above all other occupations. If they were to reenter college, they said they would probably choose oriental medical school. However, the choice of reentering oriental medical school was lower than that of western medical school. Conclusion: This study has also statistically determined the current issues that may pose conflicting views on the part of the respondents. A periodic study such as this one will hopefully aid in establishing policies for oriental medicine.

Objective: This study was undertaken to examine the reliability of disease mechanism diagnosis, estimate the disease mechanism items of questionnaires and inquire about the relation of disease mechanisms to the oriental OB & GY diagnosis program. Questionnaires and abridged questionnaires were used for the object diagnosis of oriental medicine in the dept of Oriental OB & GY, Oriental Medical Hospital of Dong-Eui University. Methods: We analyzed the results of questionnaires about 1706 outpatients who had OB & GY disease in the Oriental Medical Hospital of Dong-Eui University from April 2000 to March 2004. Results: 1. The reliability of Oriental OB & GY questionnaires between $90\%$ and $95\%$ were 9 cases, between $85\%$ and $90\%$ were 3 cases, and under $85\%$were 3 cases. Abridged questionnaires were lower than original questionnaires, but 12 cases of a total 15 cases of disease mechanism were above $85\%$. Therefore, both abridged questionnaires and original questionnaires had similar results. 2. Abridged questionnaires were usually lower than existing questionnaires in the comparison of disease mechanism output frequency and that of disease mechanism average score. Therefore, the results of abridged questionnaires seemed to be poorer than those of existing questionnaires, but a great difference wasn't seen. 3. Disease mechanism that was over $50\%$ in the rate of pure question per disease mechanism was 10 cases $(66.7\%)$. Disease mechanism that contributed to producing disease mechanism result and in which pure question was over relevance calculation 0.9 was also 10 cases $(66.7\%)$. In abridged questionnaires, the duplication of questions per disease mechanism Was decreased, the rate of pure questions was increased, and the number of related disease mechanisms was decreased by abridgment of the questionnaires' questions. 4. The calculation of disease mechanism went with the increase of the duplication of questions in many cases, but TamUmhe, Kihe-Hyule, Kihe-Umhe, and Shin-Tam went with disease mechanism in many cases despite no duplication of questions. Conclusions: About the reliability of Oriental OB & GY questionnaires, 12 of a total 15 cases of disease mechanism were above $85\%$; therefore both abridged questionnaires and original questionnaires had similar results.
Purpose : This study was investigated, in order to improve that reliability of disease mechanism diagnosis, which were used for the object diagnosis of Oriental medicine in the dept. of Oriental OB&GY, Oriental Medical hospital of Dong-Eui University, amend to a disease mechanism item of Questionnaires and indexes of disease mechanism, we were thought that the results were more pointed to the condition of appropriate disease mechanism, as a result of put a results of Questionnaires and belongs to indexes of disease mechanism together, we suggested to call it a 'weight of disease mechanism', because It was possible to mark a different degrees of indexes of disease mechanism in the same points. Methods : We analyzed the results of Questionnaires about 3354 outpatients who had OB&GY disease in the Oriental Medical hospital of Dong-Eui University from April 2000 to March 2004. Results : 1. weight of disease mechanism is 10 score according to disease mechanism score and the standard of reliability. 2. The standard of reliability is same 11 disease mechanism item except stagnated blood, cold syndrome, dry- ness, phlegm. Conclusion : Weight of disease mechanism which show satisfaction the conditions of standard of reliability, appear the results of Questionnaires, against previous study investigated reliability of Questionnaires make it through the standard of reliability.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to reveal the prevalence of Mibyeong and its symptoms including fatigue, pain, sleep disturbance, dyspepsia, depression, anxiety and anger by using the national survey. Methods : Questionnaires were collected by Gallup Korea. Participants were chosen through stratified sampling method based on area, gender and age. Questionnaire was designated to confirm the recognition, managing of Mibyeong, investigation of life habit, medical history, basic information, QoL questionnaires (Short Form-12, EuroQol-5D) and understanding of Mibyeong medical service conditions. Generally all questionnaires were used for survey the Mibyeong status in public except QoL questionnaires. Questionnaires were fulfilled by professional surveyor as face to face interview. Descriptives was used for data analysis and the results were expressed as percentage ratios (%) Results : 1,101 of people were acquired in this study. Eighty point two (80.2%) percent of participants did not know the concept of Mibyeong accurately even though 80.6% complained of Mibyeong related symptoms. Among them, fatigue was accounted for the highest response (70.7%)in this study. Sixty point four percent of participants identified non-smoking, stop drinking, eating habits and sleeping habits as a way to manage their Mibyeong related symptoms. In addition, exercising (60.8%), visiting medical institution (58.4%) and taking health functional food (52.7%) were presented. Only 23.1% among people with symptoms Mibyeong visited medical facilities. Moreover, the quality of life was found to be significantly correlated with health status. Conclusions : This study could contribute to express the importance of announcing the concept of Mibyeong and status to Korean public. Moreover, more Mibyeong studies should be conducted in the future to evaluate the Mibyeong status objectively.

This study was investigated developing of Diagnosis Questionnaires which were used by Oriental Medical hospital of Dong-Eui University. We analyzed the results of Questionnaires about 620 outpatients who had participated study of diagnosis Dong-Eui University from April 2006 to March 2007. Pretest score in outcome reliability were similar on Cold, Heat, Deficiency and Excess. In Diagnosis Questionnaires, the number of variables below applied to Cold was 13, Hot was 8, Deficiency was 9, Excess was 7.
Currently the oriental medical care services in the health centers is getting popularity because of their unique aspects which western medicine can not cover. This study was conducted to speculate the current status of oriental medical care services in health centers and possibility of how to effectively provide the oriental medical care services(or traditional medical care services) in health centers. For the study, the survey questionnaires were distributed to all 269 health centers and 138(51.3%) of them were collected. Eight of the collected were inadequate for the analysis and 130 of 269 questionnaires were finally chosen for the study. The SPSS/PC WIN 8.0 was used for the statistical analysis. The results are as follows. First, 91 out of 130 sample health centers(70%) are providing oriental medical care services. The results show that the willingness of the directors and the public awareness in community are the most important factors to provide oriental medical care services in health centers. In contrast, the lack of cooperative efforts between western and oriental medical doctors and the lack of government supports are considered as factors that intervene the oriental medical care services in health centers. About 80% of the sample health centers respond that the government supports is needed for oriental medical care services in health centers. Second, it was asked to the directors of 39 health centers which do not provide oriental medical care services regarding their future plan to include the services. About 70% of health centers respond that no plan is available now. They acknowledge that the demand on the services is the most important factor to consider the oriental services as their future medical services. Third, 69.2% of the oriental medical doctors in health centers are public health doctor. 95.6% of the sample health centers have space for the oriental medical care services in their facilities and some health centers provide the services through the private clinics nearby facilities. Finally, the surveyors consider both budgetary constraints and difficulty in recruiting doctors as barriers for the effective oriental medical care services in health centers. Finally, t-test and LSD were employed to find out the difference among several groups. The analysis shows statistically significant difference among groups about their recognition on health care policy, health care system, and effectiveness of oriental medical care services. To be conclude, the study shows the necessity of oriental medical care services in health centers. To do so, the government supports, cooperative efforts between oriental and western medical doctors, and providing job security for doctors should proceed to provide effective oriental medical care services in health centers.
Purpose: We intended to observe the correlations between Primary dysmenorrhea severity and Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern. Methods: After initial approval by Kyung-Hee University Oriental Medical Hospital Institutional Review Board of Clinical Trials, volunteers for the clinical trial were recruited. We selected the 52 primary dysmenorrhea patients by the screening tests (clinical examination and inquiry). The severity of dysmenorrhea was evaluated by VAS (Visual Analog Scale), VRS (Verbal Rating Scale) & MVRS (Multidimensional Verbal Rating Scale). The severity of Blood Stasis was evaluated by Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern. For statistics, we used Spearman's rho correlations, SPSS 13.0 for windows. Results: In case of VAS, though two items (眼瞼下靑紫, 便黑) of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were correlated, total score & discriminant function score of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were not correlated. In case of VRS, though two items (小腹痛, 夜間痛) of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were correlated, total score & discriminant function score of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were not correlated. In case of MVRS, though one items (久痺症) of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were correlated, total score & discriminant function score of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern were not correlated. Conclusion: Though the results showed partial correlation of Primary dysmenorrhea severity and Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern, we need further study after improvement and complementation of Questionnaires for Blood Stasis Pattern.

In this study, when we make a diagnosis of constitution using QSCC Ⅱ(Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classification). data mining techniques are applied to seek the classification function for improving the accuracy. Data used in the analysis are the questionnaires of 1051 patients who had been treated in Dong Eui Oriental Medical Hospital and Kyung Hee Oriental Medical Hospital. The criteria for data cleansing are the response pattern in the opposite questionnaires and the positive proportion of specific questionnaires in each constitution. And the criteria for variable selection are the test of homogeneity in frequency analysis and the coefficients in the linear discriminant function. Discriminant analysis model and decision tree model are applied to seek the classification function into Sasang constitution. The accuracy in learning sample is similar in two models, the higher accuracy in test sample is obtained in discriminant analysis model.
Objectives : The purposes of this study were to investigate the recognition of Mibyeong, symptom, management plan and correlation between quality of life and health condition, and to suggest a plan for managing Mibyeong status. Methods : Participants were recruited based on the same sampling methods used on the previous study performed in 2013 based on area, gender and age. Questionnaires were collected by Gallup Korea professional surveyor through face-to-face interviews. The questionnaires contain questions about the recognition of Mibyeong, symptom, management plan and the quality of life in accordance with the relevant health conditions. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis and the results were expressed as percentage ratios (%). Results : 1,100 of people were acquired in 2015. The responses for "First time to hear of Mibyeong" have shown that the percentage were reduced from 80% to 67% compared with 2013 data. The ratio of Mibyeong's symptoms in 2015 were similar to 2013. we suggested some ways to deal with the Mibyeong status including behavior adjustment (non smoking, non alcohol, control sleep pattern), herbal tea, health functional food, exercise, preventive health care (qi-gong, yoga), meditation, home health care medical device (hot-pack, seat device for fumigation, massager), and medical service (hospital, medical clinic oriental medical clinic). Almost people showed that positive opinion with them. There were significant correlation between quality of life with the health status rather than Mibyeong or disease group. Conclusions : This study was performed through scientific questionnaires collected in 2013 and 2015 to investigate people's understanding of Mibyeong as a present condition in Korean public. Some questions had significantly different responds between both years while others showed similar trends for both years. These results suggest that the concept of Mibyeong in oriental medicine could provide a management mechanisms that help people to manage the Mibyeong status.
