Objectives : This study was to performed to investigate the effect of herbal steam therapy on acne vulgaris. Methods : 6 patients with acne vulgaris were treated with korean medicine therapy (herbal medicine and acupunture) including herbal steam therapy. We evaluated the effect by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS) and Pictures. Results : After treatment, the KAGS Grade of all patients treated with korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is 1. Based on this, we could find that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is effective and available to ameliorate for the symptoms of acne vulgaris. Conclusions : This clinical cases study shows us that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of acne vulgaris. Further studies will be needed to identify herbal steam therapy is beneficial to acne vulgaris.

Purpose : This rearch aims to prove effects of an oriental medical complex therapy on vitiligo patients who have the symptoms in the hands. Method : The rearch conducted its investigation targeting these four patients who have the symptoms in the hands. The study resolved the findings through the comparison on the pictures before and after the therapy. Result : After making a comparison on the pictures, the study confirmed positive changes in the conditions of the patients. The oriental medical complex therapy turned out to be effective enough to treat the patients who have the symptoms in the hands. Conclusion : Such result leads the study to a conclusion that the oriental medical complex therapy can be an effective method to treat these patients who have the symptoms in the hands. In addition, more case studies and research will be necessary.

Objective : Acne is very common disease, it can leave permanent scars. However, there are few reports about it in oriental medicine academia. This study performed to evaluate the effect of reconstruction of skin scars and auto microneedle therapy system on acne scars. Methods : Six patients were treated by using reconstruction of skin scars and auto microneedle therapy system. We compared the degree of treatment of acne scars on pre and post case photos and Qualitative Global Acne Scarring Grading System(QGASC). Satisfaction degree were asked from the patients. Results & Conclusion : After comparing case photos and QGASC, observing patients satisfaction, it can be considered that reconstruction of skin scars and auto microneedle therapy system to be valid acne scars treatment.

Objectives : This study reports a 61-year-old man with sudden hearing loss and tinnitus whose symptoms improved remarkably after treatment with Korean medicine. Methods : The patient was treated with herbal medicine(gamisoyo-san, samul-tang gagambang, gongjindan, and yukmijihwang-hwan), acupuncture and moxibustion. Puretone audiometry(PTA), speech audiometry(SA), Korean tinnitus handicap inventory(K-THI), patient self-report, numeric rating scale(NRS) 11, and review of system(ROS) were performed. Results : After a month of treatment, PTA was improved from profound to mild and audiometric findings were improved in speech reception threshold and word recognition score. After 2 months of treatment, K-THI decreased from 92 to 28 and NRS 11 score decreased more than 6 in every item. Conclusions : These results demonstrate that Korean medicine could be effective sudden hearing loss and tinnitus.

Objective : The patient presented with a week history of orange-eryhtematous follicular hyperkeratotic papules in facial and skull part.Methods : Korean medicinePalMul-tang八物湯 was used and Aroma ointment and Retinoid lotion were used together.Results : After 6 months therapy, she experienced remarkable improvement of symptoms.Conclusions : Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris (PRP) is belong to 'Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris (PRP) is belong to 'Honyoja狐尿刺'in Korean medicine, and we can expect a relatively good treatment effect.

Objectives : This study was performed to report two cases of improved hemifacial spasm by herbal remedy and moxa-treatment. Methods : This study calendered the improvements of symptoms of two patients with hemifacial spasm who visited the author's clinic. Ukgansangamibang(抑肝散加味方) and moxa-treatment on chung-wan(CV12) were prescribed to the patients concerned due to their antipathy against acupuncture treatment. Results : Significant improvements were observered from both patients not only for hemifacial spasm but neuropsychosis-related symptoms Conclusion : The study shows remarkable results of the efficacy of herb remedy and moxa-treatment, for the treatment of hemifacial spasm , however the cases investigated in this study were only two(2). Therefore, more studies should be followed to support the efficacy of Oriental Medicine for the treatment of hemifacial spasm.

Introduction: Atopic dermatitis is chronic eczematous recurrent disease of skin and till now its mechanism is not cleary known. It is related to a family history of atopic disease. It has severe itching and it causes eczema secondarily. Atopic dermatitis has mostly severe symptoms and progresses to chronic relapsing. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to estimate the efficacy of herb- medicine treatment on atopic dermatitis. Subjects: 1 treated 5 patients who visited Chungbalsan Kyunghee oriental medical clinic with atopic dermatitis from September, 2001 to October, 2002 partiticipated in the study and were observed for over 2 months. Methods: I treated them with herb-medication and external application. (Atopione)

Temporomandibular joint disorder is quite common dental problem. Research has shown that 5 to 15$\%$ of the population have a TMJ disorder requiring some type of treatment. TMJ disorder's symptoms are pains in the jaw and muscles of your face, limitation of opening or closing jaw and noises in jaw joint such as clicking or popping sounds. Two patients with TMJ symptoms visited our clinic. They complained pain, limitation of jaw opening and clicking sound. We treated them by stimulating trigger points on the TMJ muscle with acupuncture and had a good effects. The symptoms is reduced or disappeared.

Anal and perianal condyloma acuminatum(CA), which is a large cauliflower-like tumor, is a manifestation of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. HPV may be acquired via sexual transmission, vertical transmission or nonsexual contact. It is an uncommon condition in children but the incidence in children has been increasing recently. There are many therapies for CA including chemical or physical destruction, immunological therapy, or a surgical excision. All these procedures have some degree of limitations such as limited clearance rate, high recurrence rate, pain, bleeding, release of potentially infectious aerosols and scar. It may be traumatic mentally to the children as well as physically. Korean Medicine included herbal treatment and herbal ointment for CA is no pain, and it doesn't need an anesthesia. We present a case of anal and perianal CA in a 2 years old boy that was treated successfully with Korean Medicine, with no recurrence during the follow up 3 months.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of hair Ampoules with Malva Verticillata Seed Extract in alopecia patients. Methods : This 24-week clinical study enrolled 70 patients with Alopecia. A series of clinical examinations, subjects were evaluated at 0, 8, 16 and 24-week, counting of the number of hairs on the crown, and subject survey after using the Ampoules. Results : The clinical evaluation showed a significantly difference (p<0.05) after 24 weeks of product use compared to the baseline in the change in hair count in the treatment group compared to the control group within and between groups. It showed greater improvement in the treatment group than in the control group in hair count, hair thickness, and hair loss symptoms in the top of the head and forehead. No severe adverse events were observed during the clinical trial. Counclusions : This suggests that this hair ampoules containing Malva Verticillata Seed Extract could help prevent hair loss in alopecia patients without inducing side effects.
