So far, many researches have been done to retrieve music information using static classification descriptors such as genre and mood. Since static classification descriptors are based on diverse content-based musical features, they are effective in retrieving similar music in terms of such features. However, human emotion or mood transition triggered by music enables more effective and sophisticated query in music retrieval. So far, few works have been done to evaluate the effect of human mood transition by music. Using formal representation of such mood transitions, we can provide personalized service more effectively in the new applications such as music recommendation. In this paper, we first propose our Emotion State Transition Model (ESTM) for describing human mood transition by music and then describe a music classification and recommendation scheme based on the ESTM. In the experiment, diverse content-based features were extracted from music clips, dimensionally reduced by NMF (Non-negative Matrix Factorization, and classified by SVM (Support Vector Machine). In the performance analysis, we achieved average accuracy 67.54% and maximum accuracy 87.78%.

The purpose of this paper is to provide basic guidelines for listening and analyzing GIM music literature. Many GIM practitioners have developed listening guidelines for GIM music literature, however, there needs to be a more structured guidelines and criteria for beginning GIM trainees. This paper has utilized the psychoanalytic and existential analysis of musical elements suggested by Bruscia, which focuses on the rhythmic and tonal components of musical elements. These components deal with the energy level and emotional depth embedded in the music, which are important essences in imagery experiences. The paper further reviewed various approaches of analyzing music which are musical, phenomenological, and heuristic. These approaches include both musical analysis and analyzer's subjective experiences of music. However, it is more essential firstly to understand the basic musical criteria in relation to psychoanalytic and existential aspects before going into subjective experiences of music listening for the beginning GIM trainees.

For an effective listening to music, a repeated listening to music should be possible without any restriction of time and space as well as to music for a music class and the various multi-media learning materials for listening to music is required. However, an individualized and repeated listening is difficult and an individualized listening materials are lacking. To solve these problems, learning system for listening to music in elementary school sharing learning materials required for it and including learning factors of listening to music is required. Therefore, this study analyzes learning factors of listening to music in elementary school and the learning system for listening to music is designed and developed to make elementary students have their own active listening to music and feel achievement and confidence by teacher's evaluation of their writings after listening to music and experience a joyful musical activity. And it is applied to elementary school.

In this paper, we propose a method of generating theme, background amd signal music usage monitoring information based on a blockchain, in which the music usage informations are recorded by the monitoring tool using feature-based filtering of monitoring organizations. Theme, background and signal music are music inserted into the broadcasting contents of broadcaster. Since they are recognized as created contents just like normal music, there are lyricists and composers who have the right for those music and all copyright holders of them have to receive the corresponding copyright fees, once the music was used in the broadcast. However, there are problems with inaccurate monitoring results for music usage, due to the omission of usage details and non-transparent settlement method. In order to solve these problems, If the information generation method proposed in this paper, accurate music usage history can be created, the details are stored in the blockchain without changes or omissions, and transparent settlement and distribution are possible by smart contract, avoiding the current non-transparent settlement method.

The purpose of this study was to present a methodology for reconstructing the curriculum to provide appropriate music education to students with special needs in inclusive classrooms. This study presents a customizing music curriculum reconstructing model for students with special needs. This model consists of six stages: analyzing students' characteristics and educational needs, analyzing the common music curriculum and basic music curriculum, establishing specified assessment criteria for achievement standards, analyzing the music textbook for the common curriculum and basic curriculum, reorganizing educational activities in music units, and conducting differentiated music instruction. This study presents an example of the customization process and focuses on a creative music activity for students with intellectual disabilities. Recommendations and guidelines for reconstructing the curriculum to best meet the educational needs of students with special needs are provided.

This paper is a study that analyzes the use and techniques of rap in music that entered Melon Chart, one of the major music sites in Korea, during 2020. Among the songs that entered the chart, reflecting the public's preference, the trend of rap music, an important element of hip-hop music, is analyzed and musical features such as representative artists or frequently used rhythm patterns are analyzed. Through this paper, characteristics of rap music favored by the public and artists in recent popular music have been organized and formalized, and based on this, the elements of etude development for technical polishing are summarized. Through this, it is hoped that just like the long-time analyzed and structured performance techniques such as vocals and instruments, various styles of rap music can develop into a systematic and step-by-step technique system for students who want to learn and practice it.

Helen Lindquist Bonny developed the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (BMGIM), a music oriented self-exploration of consciousness, with the influence of humanistic and client-centered approaches. BMGIM can help people manage pain, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, and other conditions through self-awareness and self-potential. The purpose of this biographical study was to explore Bonny's early life experiences and their contribution to the humanistic and transpersonal approach to music therapy. The study was organized in chronological order: Bonny's childhood and young adulthood; inspirations that led to development of BMGIM; and research and clinical events that helped solidify the development of BMGIM. An interview with Bonny and a review of the literature supported the significance of these periods. The years between 1972 and 1979 mark the development of the first series of BMGIM music programs, which Bonny said served as the base for many later GIM music programs developed. Bonny's contribution to the field of music therapy includes the provision of strong foundation for music therapy based on Maslow's and Rogerian approach, and the introduction of time-valued music to the music therapy field.

The purpose of this study is to explain experiences of non-music majors to changing their majors into music therapy and to provide the preliminary study for deriving a grounded theory. For that, in-depth interviews were performed targeting 5 students who did not major in music in their undergraduate courses selected from the graduate students who are majoring in music therapy at the colleges located in Seoul. Data was analyzed for the study by applying the modified grounded theory. The result of study showed that they selected the course of music therapy career as they were motivated by the realistic demand for future employment, career potentials and other realistic causes. These factors caused them to study the surrounding situations and conduct the detailed research on the possibility of music therapy. These factors were also dependent on the individual characteristics, external elements and music background. These experiences were connected to the self-integration and pursuit of growth by newly setting their relation to the 'Music Child'. In addition, the demand of being the meaningful existence in relationship also affected them to more specify their aspirations in the progress of career selection on a continual basis. This study is meaningful as it provides the actual information on them.

The purpose of this study was to explore and better understand special education music teachers' perceptions of their music curriculum. For this purpose, we conducted a focus group interview with seven special education music teachers. During the interview, four major themes and 14 sub-themes were identified. The main themes were the following: (a) types of applied activities and the goals of music classes (e.g., activities to be applied in various ways depending on the characteristics of the disability and intended outcome), (b) difficulty in implementing the music curriculum (e.g., lack of fit between textbook and students' chronological ages, lack of time and focus, self-evaluation of performance as a music teacher, (c) therapeutic experiences during music classes (e.g., expectation for positive effects through music therapy, joy of witnessing changes in students, and sense of togetherness), and (d) obstacles to the therapeutic approach of music classes and need for support (e.g., lack of professional knowledge regarding therapeutic approaches and problems with administrators and school environment). Based on these results, problems in implementing the music therapy approach as part of the music curriculum in special education schools are discussed and practical solutions for educators are offered.

Mobile music market is growing. However, services what are applied recently are inaccurate to recommend music that a user is worth to prefer. So, this paper suggests music recommend system. This system recommend music that users prefer analyzing music information and user's musical propensity and using collaborative filtering. This system classify genre and extract factors what can be get using STFT's ZCR, Spectral roll-off, Spectral flux. So similar musics are clustered by these factors. And then, after divide mood of music's lyric, it finally recommend music automatically using collaborative filtering.
