Prospect of Treatment with Herb Medicine for Developmental Delay of Language and Intelligence Quotient (어지와 지능지수에 대한 한약치료의 전망)

  • It is widely assumed that Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is determined by inherent disposition and environmental factor. IQ is estimated by age-conversion score and stabilized around age 4 and IQ of adult age can be predicted after age 10. Though children with Mental Retardation (MR) are delayed in language development since early infant period, they receive only special education including speech and language therapy, but no special medication. In traditional Korean medicine, the etiology and treatment for developmental delay of language have been handed down for a long time. Some studies on herbs and prescriptions for improving language development have been undertaken recently. We have found several cases of significant elevation of IQ in the children treated with long term medications of Korean herbal medicine for improvement of language. Analyzing these cases, especially performance IQ showed significant change. Therefore we suggest that Korean herbal medicine might improve cognition development in children with MR.

  • A formalism of reference language and homogeneous field is constructed for Iverson Language to organize a virtual file among external media. To execute some data manipulations among these external media files must be organized homogeneously forming multi-dimensional array like single media. This paper shows some organization of reference language to build the virtual file using many external media and some examples of program and hardware organization is presented for the justification of proposals.

  • This paper describes a new technique for syntax-directed compiling of algol 60 programming language. A relatively large size of language specification is devided into two parts, one called language body and the other called language branch. The language body is compiled by the syntax-directed compiling technique and the other is compiled by the precedance method to minimize the compiling time. Also the boundary of the potions were studied during this study for the optimization.

  • The finger language is the part of the sign language, which is a language system that expresses vowels and consonants with hand gestures. Korean finger language has 31 gestures and each of them needs a lot of learning models for accurate recognition. If there exist mass learning models, it spends a lot of time to search. So a real-time awareness system concentrates on how to reduce search spaces. For solving these problems, this paper suggest a hierarchy HMM structure that reduces the exploration space effectively without decreasing recognition rate. The Korean finger language is divided into 3 categories according to the direction of a wrist, and a model can be searched within these categories. Pre-classification can discern a similar finger Korean language. And it makes a search space to be managed effectively. Therefore the proposed method can be applied on the real-time recognition system. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can reduce the time about three times than general HMM recognition method.

  • The majority of work done to date on natural language processing has focused on analysis and understanding of language, thus natural language generation had been relatively less attention than understanding, And people even tends to regard natural language generation CIS a simple reverse process of language understanding, However, need for natural language generation is growing rapidly as application systems, especially multi-language machine translation systems on the web, natural language interface systems, natural language query systems need more complex messages to generate, In this paper, we propose an algorithm to generate more flexible and natural sentence using lexical functions of Igor Mel'uk (Mel'uk & Zholkovsky, 1988) and systemic grammar.

  • 의존 구문 분석은 자연어 이해 영역의 대표적인 과제 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 한국어 의존 구분 분석의 성능 향상을 위해 Deep Bi-affine Network 와 스택 포인터 네트워크의 앙상블 모델을 제안한다. Bi-affine 모델은 그래프 기반 방식, 스택 포인터 네트워크의 경우 그래프 기반과 전이 기반의 장점을 모두 사용하는 모델로 서로 다른 모델의 앙상블을 통해 성능 향상을 기대할 수 있다. 두 모델 모두 한국어 어절의 특성을 고려한 자질을 사용하였으며 세종 의존 구문 분석 데이터에 대해 UAS 90.60 / LAS 88.26(Deep Bi-affine Network), UAS 92.17 / LAS 90.08(스택 포인터 네트워크) 성능을 얻었다. 두 모델에 대한 앙상블 기법 적용시 추가적인 성능 향상을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 현재, 자동번역의 도메인은 응용 프로그램의 요구에 따라, 점차 문어체에서 대화체(spoken language)로 옮겨가고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문은 대화체가 지니는 특성을 자동번역 시스템을 구성하는 각 모듈별 및 지식 관점에서 분석하였다. 특성 분석을 기반으로 하여, 본 논문에서는 여행 영역을 대상으로 하는 대화체 자동번역시스템의 특화를 수행하였다. 대화체 자동번역을 위한 새로운 지식으로 구조화 번역메모리(Translation Memory)가 도입되었으며, 시스템을 구성하는 각 모듈별로 대화체 특화가 이루어졌다. 또한 기존의 문어체용 기구축 패턴 등이 정비되었으며, 고빈도 대화체 표현에 대한 신규 패턴이 도입되었다. 제안하는 방법의 검증을 위해 수동평가를 수행하였으며, 그 결과, 영한 대화체 자동번역에 있어서 번역률 향상이 있었다.

  • 감정 분석은 텍스트에 표현된 인간의 감정을 인식하여 다양한 감정 유형으로 분류하는 것이다. 섬세한 인간의 감정을 보다 정확히 분류하기 위해서는 감정 유형의 분류가 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 사전 학습 언어 모델을 활용하여 우리말샘의 감정 어휘와 용례를 바탕으로 기쁨, 슬픔, 공포, 분노, 혐오, 놀람, 흥미, 지루함, 통증의 감정 유형으로 분류된 감정 말뭉치를 구축하였다. 감정 말뭉치를 구축한 후 성능 평가를 위해 대표적인 트랜스포머 기반 사전 학습 모델 중 RoBERTa, MultiDistilBert, MultiBert, KcBert, KcELECTRA. KoELECTRA를 활용하여 보다 넓은 범위에서 객관적으로 모델 간의 성능을 평가하고 각 감정 유형별 정확도를 바탕으로 감정 유형의 특성을 알아보았다. 그 결과 각 모델의 학습 구조가 다중 분류 말뭉치에 어떤 영향을 주는지 구체적으로 파악할 수 있었으며, ELECTRA가 상대적으로 우수한 성능을 보여주고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 감정 유형별 성능을 비교를 통해 다양한 감정 유형 중 기쁨, 슬픔, 공포에 대한 성능이 우수하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of CMC-based English learning. In this study, CMC components were found to provide circumstances of facilitating interactions between student-student and student-student-teacher, which enabled students to accomplish language learning tasks. Findings of this study are as follows: First, CMC based language learning experience helps students have positive attitudes toward their English language learning. Second, student-student-instructor interaction group outperformed other groups in academic achievement and class activity participation. Third, cooperative learning groups more actively participated in the class activity than the individual learning group resulting in better academic performances. These findings supported the fact that cooperative learning with CMC components are useful in bringing more class participation and positive attitude that were believed to foster language learning than other groups in traditional language learning environments. This study suggests that the instructor needs to use instructional design strategies helpful to facilitate active interactions between instructors and students in order to achieve better effectiveness of English learning in a CMC based learning environment.

The effects of home literacy environment during the preschool period on first grader's language performance and school adjustment (취학 전후 가정문해환경이 초등학교 1학년 아동의 언어수행능력 및 학교적응에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper reports on a study that examined the longitudinal and concurrent effects of the home literacy environment(HLE) on first grade language performance, and the effect of language performance on school adjustment. Study subjects were 469 first graders of 6 elementary schools. The parents' and teacher's reports were used to investigate the subjects' language performance, school adjustment, and the HLE before and after the elementary school entry. Findings from the study show that there is an association between the HLE during the preschool period and the HLE in first grade, and the HLE in first grade positively affects children's language performance. Also the children's language performance had a positive influence on their school adjustment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the HLE during the preschool period is a significant feature that lingers to affect children's language performance and school adjustment.
