Music videos provide for many others images, alluring the audience to fall in another emotional world, while the sexual images shown in them suggest new images of man and woman. Today, men's images are being interpreted from various viewpoints. As interests in men's fashion are visualized through music video clothing, not only juveniles who want to be identified with the music video images but also adults try to imitate them, and proceed to wear the clothing, obliterating the boundary between 'reality' and 'illusion' and creating new images of men. This study is aimed at reviewing the male images shown in the music videos, particular their clothing, produced between 2000 and 2002. The results of this study could be summarized as follows : 1. Since beginning of the human history, men's image has been characterized by patriarchal system, capitalism, bourgeois class which emerged after industrial revolution and other man-dominant socio-cultural phenomena, such male image are shown in the music video as conservative and dominant image. 2. However, due to the post-modern culture, the power began to be decentralized. while feminism and men's liberation movement gain strength. As a result, women or heterosexuals began to regard men as sexual objects, and such a phenomenon is featured as sexual, bisexual or decadent images in the music videos. 3. On the threshold of the 21st century, music videos have begun to creatively describe men's life, their social conflicts, dreams and hopes and death and thereby. feature men's such images as being destroyed in view of existentialism. The numerous creative men's images interpreted in this way are featured in many music video works only to create playful, cyborg or demonic images using the senses. After all, men's images are featured in the music video costumes in diverse ways ranging from the conventional images to acquiescent images. In addition, various male images are combined with the characteristics of the music videos to be re-created anew. The young men in the our modern age tend to imitate or apply such images to create their own images or individualistic styles. All in all, men's image can be fixed no longer but diversified and fragmented in the new age.
For a digital image watermarking some autostereograms are used such as random dot images. In there, the extraction efficiency is good and the distortion rate is low. In this paper, we shall select an optimized scaling parameter which derives low distortion rate and high extraction efficiency, when we use a random dot images as like as autostereograms into some images except for extremely biased gray level images.
This study was performed to investigate the mothers' preferences for their children's clothing images and color images. Questionaries were analysed by factor analysis cluster analysis one way ANOVA x2 -test. The results are as follow: First the preferred clothing images for children have no differences across gender. The preferred images are active tidy and fashionable. Second the preferred clothing images are according to season. In the case of clothing color images the preferences in spring and summer seasons are differed from fall and winter seasons. Third factors of boy's clothing image were fashionable cute splendid and classic And factors for girl's clothing image were lively tidy fashionable and classic. These factors revealed the differences of preferences between boys and girls clothing image. Fourth the preferences of clothing color image for children changed across seasons. Bright and neat color images were preferred in spring and summer warm and deep color images were preferred in fall and winter. Fifty the preferences of clothing images classified into four groups and each group has the different preference in color tone. Finally Season and gender were revealed to be more important variables in the preferences of children's clothing image and color image.
Many applications using satellite data from high-resolution multispectral sensors require an image fusion step, known as pansharpening, before processing and analyzing the multispectral images when spatial fidelity is crucial. Image fusion methods are to improve images with higher spatial and spectral resolutions by reducing spectral distortion, which occurs on image fusion processing. The image fusion methods can be classified into MRA (Multi-Resolution Analysis) and CSA (Component Substitution Analysis) approaches. To suggest the efficient image fusion method for Pleiades and KOMPSAT (Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite) 3 satellites, this study will evaluate image fusion methods for multispectral and panchromatic images. HPF (High-Pass Filtering), SFIM (Smoothing Filter-based Intensity Modulation), GS (Gram Schmidt), and GSA (Adoptive GS) were selected for MRA and CSA based image fusion methods and applied on multispectral and panchromatic images. Their performances were evaluated using visual and quality index analysis. HPF and SFIM fusion results presented low performance of spatial details. GS and GSA fusion results had enhanced spatial information closer to panchromatic images, but GS produced more spectral distortions on urban structures. This study presented that GSA was effective to improve spatial resolution of multispectral images from Pleiades 1A and KOMPSAT 3.
In the era of new media, images hold an important position as episteme to express and convey ideas. Fashion films provide dynamic and unique fashion images, differentiated from prior fashion media as a representational tool for showing a realistic fashion image only; consequently, their production and spread are increasing rapidly as a new fashion media. This study identifies the meaning and type of fashion images in fashion films based on the concept of Deleuze's image that help discover distinctive characteristics of fashion films as a new fashion media of an expressive tool. Literature research was conducted on new media, concepts and types of images by Deleuze to analyze types of new media images. According to research, fashion image in fashion film is defined as a fashion event; consequently, three types of new media images are derived. As the result of the empirical study, fashion images in fashion films are classified by images of realistic movement, variable time, and virtual experience. The results of the consideration show that fashion films expressed fashion through temporality and narrative, senses, and diegesis. Fashion images of new media in fashion films portray fashion as a process that transcends reality and imagination.
Purpose: To compare radiographic images of Digora/sup (R)/ system and Ektaspeed Plus film obtained from normal adults. Materials and methods: Storage phosphor plate(SPP) was placed in a film holder behind Ektaspeed Plus film package without lead foil. The effect of film on SPP was studied in a separate in vitro experiment. Forty-seven sets of images were prepared for the evaluaton. The regions of interest(ROI) for evaluation were designated at seven sites including normal anatomical structures. The image quality for each ROI was evaluated on enhanced and unenhanced storage phosphor(SP) images and Ektaspeed Plus film. Results: Two film-SPP configurations showed significantly different gray levels at each step of the aluminum step wedge(p<0.05). The contrasts were comparable. Enhanced SP images were significantly superior to unenhaned images and film in all anatomical sturctures(p<0.01). The differences between unenhanced SP images and film were significant(p<0.05) except root canal and cortical bone on alveolar crest. For anatomical items. there were statistically significant difference among five observers(p<0.05). Conclusions: The image quality of enhanced SP images were superior to Ektaspeed Plus film. and Digora system is potentially applicable to clinical diagnosis.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the fashion trends of last three years and how the trends were imaged by the structural characteristics of the fabrics. The characteristics for 897 fabrics were analyzed from four kinds. eleven volumes of fashion trend magazines. From these magazines, three panels categorized by their frequencies as nine images such as natural, innocent, ethnic, childish, casual, classic, modern and technical, Sub-images of each image such as rustic, irregular, decorative, etc were also categorized. For the each image, fiber contents and structural characteristics of weave type, weight, density, yarn size, twist and fabric finishes were investigated in terms of frequency, range and mean, Results showed that chiffon and organza seemed to have very specific images and used to represent specifically the romantic or ethnic images; whereas voile and jersey was used to represent various images. For S/S seasons, most popular fiber type was cotton. The weave type was not the important factor to give variations in images; plan weave exclusively used irrespective of image. For the romantic, ethnic and innocent images, rather light fabrics were used. For the childish and natural, medium weights, and for the technical, modern and classic images heavy weight fabrics were used. Vaious finishes were employed to represent specific images.
EOC (Electro-Optical Camera) of KOMPSAT-1 (Korea Multi-Purpose SATellite) has been producing land imageries of the world since January 2000. After image data are acquired by EOC, they are transmitted from satellite to ground via X-band RF signal. Then, EOC image data are retrieved and pass through radiometric and geometric corrections to generate standard products of EOC images. After radiometric correction on EOC image data, Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) compensation is applicable on EOC images with user's request for better image quality. MTF compensation is concerned with filtering EOC images to minimize the effect of degradations. For Image Receiving and Processing System (IRPE) at KOMPSAT Ground Station (KGS), Wiener filter is used for MTF compensation of EOC images. If the Pointing Spread Function (PSF) of EOC system is known, signal-to-noise (SNR) power spectra ratio is the only variable which determines the shape of Wiener filter In this paper, MTF compensation in IRPE at KGS is briefly addressed, and MTF compensated EOC images are generated using Wiener filters with various SNR power spectra ratios. MTF compensated EOC images are compared with original EOC 1R images to observe correlations between them. As a result, the effect of SNR power spectra ratio on MTF compensated EOC images is shown.
Wavelet transform and its inverse processing provide the effective framework for data fusion. The purpose of this study is to investigate applicability of wavelet transform using texture images for the urban remote sensing application. We tried several experiments regarding image fusion by wavelet transform and texture imaging using high resolution images such as IKONOS and KOMPSAT EOC. As for texture images, we used homogeneity and ASM (Angular Second Moment) images according that these two types of texture images reveal detailed information of complex features of urban environment well. To find out the useful combination scheme for further applications, we performed DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) and IDWT(Inverse Discrete Wavelet Transform) using texture images and original images, with adding edge information on the fused images to display texture-wavelet information within edge boundaries. The edge images were obtained by the LoG (Laplacian of Gaussian) processing of original image. As the qualitative result by the visual interpretation of these experiments, the resultant image by each fusion scheme will be utilized to extract unique details of surface characterization on urban features around edge boundaries.
