The purpose of this study is to establish a new method to develop the textile pattern design using Saengbul flower in Seo-cheon flower garden of Jeju Myth, in other words, to create mythic textile patterns by borrowing effectively from the mythic image of Saengbul flower. Seo-cheon flower garden is an incantation space and Saengbul flower means pregnance. Therefore, we drew Camellia flower motifs from a mythic image based on archetypal symbols about the Saengbul flower, and created mythic patterns. In order to achieve this textile pattern design, Adobe CS5(Photoshop, Illustrator) and Texpro were used to design the motifs of Saengbul flower, and then they were arranged in a square pattern and diamond pattern of Richard M. Proctor' set layout. And to conclude, development of the creative textile pattern design using the mythic contents of the Jeju Myth contribute to invigoration the fashion industry and regional culture contents projects in Jeju, and also become the basis of creating added valued to it.

The shape of floral Pattern in the Period of Baroque could be divided single. bunch and vine. The style of representation was stylized, abstract and realistic. the most of style was stylized. The type of composition was fullness, independent and scattered. Floral patterns were shaped simple and complex and components of design could be classified into flower and leaf. flower and fruit. flower and band. bunch of flower, flower and geometry. flower and pot, flower and animal. flower and crest. Kinds of flower were tulip. common marigold, lily, carnation, small bel]flower. lotus, acandus leaf, pomegranate, strawberry. pine cone and abstract anonymous flower which were unfolded by repeat. Characters of floral Pattern were classical elegance, taste of royalty and lively and damask, velvet, brocade which made with gold and silver so, those were a very brilliant and gorgeous. Characters of design were illustrated plane style and stylization where developed arranged on front by repeat or repeat symmetric of vertical. Art, costumes and textiles in this era were a very rich and colorful. The result of study on Baroque's floral pattern will be used to develope a various textile design and chance to be adopted classical pattern into aesthetic value in our time.

This study explores developing a large round table with Bosang flower pattern for a contemporary meeting room made by a cabinet maker, Kim Byeung-soo, who has built the traditional Korean furniture in Korean Western Gyeongnam Province since after his elementary school. He uses the post finger joint from one of the middle level of his education process based on the traditional Korean technique, develops it into flower stem joint, and adds flower patterns' carving decoration called Bosang flower patterns. Hence, the table makes the table be strong, useful, and beautiful. Therefore, the modernized round table will be able to make the people access more easily and to make more demand on the traditional Korean furniture and the adopted furniture than ever.

Patterns abstractly depicting flowing water with Chinese characters such as gong, wan(man), or wang continued endlessly and curved water patterns began appearing on textiles during the Song Dynasty. Though Song curved water patterns encompassed poetic sentiments such as "falling flowers and flowing water," the meaning faded with time, and these patterns were depicted in backgrounds with flowers added to brocade (Geum-sang-cheom-hwa). During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, combinations of diverse patterns, including flowers, butterflies, dragons, and auspicious treasures became fashionable, rather than the gong- and wan-shaped curved water patterns. Likewise, during the Joseon Dynasty, curved water patterns were preferred as background rather than as primary patterns. They were overlaid with flowers and clouds. The overlaid flower patterns included four-season flower patterns (17th-18th centuries), round flower patterns (19th century), and large flower patterns (20th century), which were identical to flower patterns fashionable at the time and arranged at intervals on complex curved water pattern backgrounds. In contrast, simple Ruyi types were more numerous than the four-Ruyi types fashionable at the time with regard to cloud patterns. Added here were Taiji (great ultimate symbol) or crane patterns, thus seeking to depict diverse auspicious Ruyi such as wish fulfillment and longevity.

The flower, a symbol of beauty representing beauty, exists as an aesthetic object throughout the history of mankind, and is one of the motifs most often used in plastic art. In this way, flower art is an art that embodies a form based on the theme of flowers. The flowers played a role in expressing human happiness and love by harmonizing beautifully with each other in shape and color. The flower pattern containing this symbolism is beautiful and excellent in decoration, and is applied not only to household goods, but also to art and fashion. The flower pattern is the most preferred pattern among patterns, and it is widely used regardless of the four seasons by changing the color according to the color and flowering time, and it is effective in stimulating the symbolism and psychological sense of humans, so it is used in design in various fields. In this study, the flower pattern, which is a symbol of beauty representing beauty and the motif of art, has been traditionally used in Korea, and is still loved in fashion and art even in modern times. We hoped to be active, and through this study, we tried to develop our own unique flower pattern and lay the groundwork for it to be commercialized.

This study examined the trend of pattern which appeared throughout men's clothing fashion magazine from 1999 to 2002 and the influence which the demographic characteristic have on the sensibility dimension of pattern and the preference degree of kinds of pattern. The results of study were as follows. 1) The pattern which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was a length stripe, and the representation technique which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was the technique of a geometric expression. 2) The pattern which men and women preferred most out of ten kinds of patterns-length stripe, width stripe, oblique stripe, check, square, waterdrop, paisley, flower of style shape, flower of realistic shape, flower of shape-was a length stripe. 3) The sensibility dimension of pattern image was composed of fascination, dignity, daring, gentleness, and reality. 4) Because sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern were significant according to the distinction of sex, vocation, academic career, income, this study can conclude the demographic characteristic have an influence on sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern.

The objective of this study was to examine how clothing pattern preferences vary accod-ing to sex role identity gender and age. Questionnaire of shirt pattern prefere-nces and short form Bem Sex Role Inventory was administered to 627 men and women(10's to 40's) in Kwangju City. Sex role identity was classified in androgynous masculine feminine and undifferentiated type. 1. The men liked thick horizon thin check and plaid pattern better than the women while the women small flower one. 2. The 10's liked thick horizon thin check and plaid pattern better than the women while the women small flower one. 2, The 10's liked thick horizon pattern better than the others, 3. On the interaction effect according to gender and age the women in their 30's liked polka dots pattern better than the men while the women in their 10's and 20's liked plaid pattern better than the women in their 30's and 40's 4. On the interaction effect according to sex role identity and age the masculine type in their 30's and 40's disliked small flower pat-tern while the feminine type in their 30's and 40's liked it. The women in their 30's liked small flower pattern while the 10's disliked it more than the others. 5. The androgynous type liked thin check and plaid pattern better than the others. The present findings provide that sex role identity gender and age influenced clothing pattern preferences. Gender and age had sig-nificant interaction effects on the preferences. The traditional connections between sex role identity and flower pattern perferences were confirmed only in the 30's and 40's.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of in vitro culture condition and among lines on growth pattern of lateral buds from nodal cuttings of Phalaenopsis flower stalks. The ratio of bud growing into shoot from nodal cuttings of flower stalks were 90.9% and 54.4% on MS and hyponex medium, respectively. The number of buds grown vegetatively were increased remarkably on the MS medium containing 5 mg/L BA. The rate of buds grown vegetatively was higher in basal and middle parts than in upper part of flower stalks. The flower stalk sections cultured at 25~28$^{\circ}C$ showed the highest ratio of vegetative growth. Medium contamination was decreased by pretreatment of etiolation to the flower stalk. However, the pretreatment did not show specific effects on shoot development and reduction of phenolic compound. Average shoot number which was formed from flower stalk segments in 27 of 30 accessions were 3.17, while high number of shoots were obtained from Phal. 3020 and Phal. 3039. The growth pattern of lateral buds in F$_1$hybrids was similar to that of their parents.

The purpose of this study is to infer the shape and change as auspicious symbolic meaning and figures of a peony pattern. For this study. I analyzed the example of a peony pattern, which is traditional Chinese pattern appeared on a ceramic and textile. The results of this study are as following. First, a peony has particular title, such as 'the king of flowers' and 'the most beautiful woman in country and the smell in heaven' originated in a verse of a poet at Dang's Dynasty. It is reputed to be the best of all flowers, representing beauty, and a beauty. Second, the basic meaning of a peony pattern used as auspicious pattern is prosperity and it has various meanings of it's similar kind through several auspicious objects and combination. Also, it was used for the purpose of adequating the desire of man's blessing mentality. Third, four kinds of characteristics of a peony pattern are as following. 1) A peony pattern has similar shape with 'Bosanghwamoon', which was used as a pattern at formerly period of peony flowers. It was used as realistic shape gave vividness to the characteristic of peony on the shape of 'Bosanghwamoon'. 2) 8-petaled, unique leaves and veins were described in detail by vivid sketching shape of real peony flower. 3) Laying stress on the characteristics of peony flower, which is large and magnificent, several folds petals were described abundantly by exaggerated shape or a shape of big honeycomb. And unique leaves were described realistically on these. 4) It was also expressed peculiar characteristic of peony flower composed of several pieces by weakened design shape.

This study is to present various curtain design by simulating method of the 32 case's combination of the styles, the patterns, the colors of curtain design for 50 woman collage students by photo shop program. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follow : The evaluation factors of curtains design was classified into three groups ; emotionality, harmoniousness, stimulus. The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality" of the first factor is curtain with the valance of cloud style, mixed Diagram pattern and ivory color(NO.16). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "harmoniousness" as well as "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality" and "stimulus" as well as "emotionality" and "harmoniousness" is curtain with the valance of natural fold style, stripes pattern and pink color(NO.6). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "harmoney" and "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18). The best choice to emphasize the atmosphere for "emotionality", "harmoniousness" and "stimulus" is curtain with the valance of two pieces cloud style, flower pattern and pink color(NO.18).
