Objective : This study was carried out to review Chang-Won Lee's theory of Sasangand acupuncture of constitution. Methods : We have investigated Chang-Won Lee's unknown literature "Medicine of sassang "(四象醫學). Results : Constitutional acupuncture is based on the diversity of human being and medically developed the response variation to disease and acupuncture. The diversity is due to the Organ's Congenital Formation Variation based on human nature and it is categorized as four from physiology, pathology, symptoms, to therapy. Chang-Won Lee's constitutional acupuncture discriminated constitution of comparison palpations of right and left both sides. He insisted that constitution only four type(Sasang), not exist man of To-Hyoung (土形人) in "young -chu"(靈樞) and his constitutional acupuncture all used Jung-kyuck (reinforcement acupuncture method) and Seong-kyuck(reducing acupuncture method) of Sa-am(舍岩)

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to verify the difference in diet, digestion, sweat, feces and urination characteristics according to body shape characteristic. Methods : 1,302 participants were divided into 4 body types and were assessed through the questionnaire about Sasang constitution's ordinary symptoms such as diet, digestion, sweat, feces and urination characteristics. Results : Hyeong-keum type had active characteristics in the size of their meal and speed of taking meal. Hyeong-keum type got the most in the amount of sweating. And Yo-wi type reported the greatest urinary frequency. Conclusions : The difference of body type influences Sasang constitution's ordinary symptoms such as diet, sweat and urination. In digestion and feces, there was no statistical significance in the difference.

Objectives : Recently, in Sasang Constitution Medicine (SCM), many researchers have studied to construct objective diagnose tool for the SCM type. It is most important to collect correct constitutional clinical data in these studies. Methods : In our work, we construct a web-based system for collecting constitutional clinical data effectively. Results & Conclusion : The system offers 4 types of input programs, which helps to collect clinical information from various hospitals, and performs verification service to minimize input errors. Currently, we have collected about four thousands data using the our system and we will provide several analysis tool in the system for researchers.

The importance of uniform is getting increased in the present society because it is one of symbols which represent a company and give customers the image of it. Uniform shows the kind of companies, one's position, and sometimes the actual job which one does. And workers who put on the same kind of uniform feel companionship among them, the security of their position and responsibility for their job, all of which elevate the efficiency of their job and the company. To enhance the functions of uniforms such as representativeness, esthetics, convenience and economization, the followings were studied. 1) Through survey on the present condition of seven different types of company uniforms, we analyzed preference of workers, staffs and consumers and did the factor analysis of uniform constitution. 2) It presented the relative importance among the uniform constitution. 3) The reflective condition of the uniform constitution was estimated. 4) It investigated the working condition and working movement.

To evaluate constitutional preference and clinical symptoms on the foods, we statistically analyzed the 572 patients' data based on the Sasang Constitutional Information Bank (SCIB) in Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM). As a result, these are supposed to constitution-related foods ; crucian, watermelon, barley, ginseng, honey, chicken, deer's horn, beef, cold foods. Among these, crucian, barley, cold foods are fit for Soyangin, ginseng, honey, chicken for Soeumin and deer's horn, watermelon, beef for Taeumin. Whereas pork and sliced raw fish are nothing to do with sasang constitution in this study.

A radial artery pulse wave is well known as a good mans to diagnose human body condition in th field of Chinese medical science. Information about constitution as well as organs can be obtained by detecting the artery pulse wave. Recently, the information about the human body constitution may be utilized in accelerating the recovery process of the patient on the basis of comprehensive diagnosis. A radial artery pulse wave is considered as one of promising means in examining the human body constitution. Since the examination has been conducted by the feeling of finger, the diagnosis may occasionally have uncertainty or fatal error. In this paper, a new measuring system is suggested and developed to examine the pattern of a pulse wave correctly. The system is composed of four pressure vessels, pressure sensors and air supplying pumps. One of them is utilized for appropriately pressing the radial artery, three of them for detecting pressure change in several mmHg level. The detected data is shown and discussed.

This paper introduces an automatic voice classification system for the diagnosis of individual constitution based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine (SCM) in Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM). For the developing of this algorithm, we used the voices of 473 speakers and extracted a total of 144 speech features from the speech data consisting of five sustained vowels and one sentence. The classification system, based on a rule-based algorithm that is derived from a non parametric statistical method, presents binary negative decisions. In conclusion, 55.7% of the speech data were diagnosed by this system, of which 72.8% were correct negative decisions.

1987년에 제정된 제10호 헌법은 21세기 한국 민주주의의 이론적 토대 역할을 한다. 이 헌법에 내재된 인권 존중, 불의에 대한 저항, 균등의식 등은 유가철학의 내용과 괴리되지 않는다. 이는 21세기 한국의 헌법정신이 민주주의 이념과 유가철학의 영향을 받아 형성되었음을 의미한다. 그러나 제10호 헌법은 유신헌법 때 수용되고 군부세력들이 계승했던 '자유민주적 기본질서'의 사상을 중시한다. 이는 자유와 평등의 양립보다 자유를 평등보다 우선하는 자유주의의 영향을 받은 것이다. 이 때문에 공공의 복리나 민중의 유익보다 부르주아계급의 이익을 확대하는 정책이 많이 펼쳐진다. 특히 이명박과 박근혜 정권 동안에 불균등한 현상이 많이 양산되었다. 21세기 유가철학은 이러한 불평등한 사회를 비판적으로 바라본다. 유가철학은 상대적 박탈감이 인간을 소외시키는 역할을 하는 것으로 생각하고, 균등한 관계의 중요성을 강조한다. 또한 이 헌법은 법치주의를 강조한다. 그러나 법치주의는 자연법을 함유한 헌법정신이 제도를 통해 현실에 적용될 때에 법실증주의의 실정법을 중시한다. 이는 자율적인 판단과 선택을 지양하고, 타율에 의존하도록 유도한다. 이러한 타율적인 법률은 강제성을 동반한다. 이러한 실정법은 인간을 자유롭고 창의적인 생각을 하는 능동적인 존재가 아니라, 이미 정해진 틀에 무비판적으로 적응하게 하는 수동적인 존재로 전락시킬 수 있다. 유가철학은 법치주의를 인간을 수단화하는 제도로 여기며 비판한다. 유가철학은 인간을 도구가 아니라, 도덕적인 존재로 여긴다. 유가철학은 삶의 원리를 자각적으로 깨달은 도덕성을 통해 건강한 사회를 구축하고자 한다. 유가철학은 인간을 본래 자유로운 존재로 생각한다. 따라서 인간은 타율적인 존재가 아니라, 자율적인 존재이다. 유가철학에 의하면 인간은 내면에 함유된 도덕성을 스스로 깨달아 스스로의 판단과 선택을 책임 있게 실행할 수 있는 존재이다. 따라서 인간을 불신의 대상이 아니라 신뢰의 대상으로 여기는 유가철학은 법률을 통한 형벌의 방법보다 교화를 통한 인간다움의 실현을 중시한다. 이는 실정법이라는 타율성에 의해 존엄한 가치가 지켜지지 않고, 자율적인 선택과 판단에 의해 인간의 정체성이 유지될 수 있음을 의미한다. 이처럼 제10호 헌법에 포함된 자유민주주의와 실정법의 문제에 대한 유가 철학의 지적은 현대 한국 사회의 모순을 본질적으로 해결하는 면에 도움이 될 수 있다.

Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate comparative effects of body acupuncture and 8 constitution acupuncture on acute stage lumbago. Methods : 50 patients checked up the Pancreotonia with acute stage lumbago were randomly divided into 2 groups. One group(Control group) took body acupuncture therapy, and the other group(Test group) took 8 constitution acupuncture therapy. Visual analogue scale(VAS), lumbar flexion and extension were checked before and after acupuncture therapy for evaluating the improvement of lumbago. Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann-Whitney U test of SPSS 15.0 for windows program were used for a statistical analysis. Results : Both body acupuncture therapy and 8 constitution acupuncture therapy showed good effect on acute stage lumbago. And test group showed better effect on decreasing of VAS and improving of lumbar flexion and extension than control group. There was only statistically significant difference between two groups in improving of lumbar flexion, while, decreasing of VAS and improving of lumbar extension were not significant statistically. Conclusions : 8 constitution acupuncture therapy can be recommended as a useful therapy to treat patients checked up the Pancreotonia with acute stage lumbago. Futher study is needed to confirm the effectiveness of 8 constitution acupuncture.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among low back pain, lumbar lordosis, obesity and Sasang constitution. Methods : The researcher discriminated the Sasang constitutions of those observed-the inpatient-who were treated from March to May 2008 for low back pain. X-ray were taken in lateral decubitus and the lumbar lordotic angles(LLA) were measured. BMI were measured. This results were statistically analyzed using SPSS 12.0. Results : 1. Among the 31 subjects, distributional rate of Soyangin, Taeumin, and Soeumin were 48.4%, 29.0% and 22.6%. 2. The result showed a significant difference with the Sasang constitution from $\ll$Dongy Suse Bowqn$\gg$. 3. The result showed a difference with the Sasang constitution from the existing result from OSCC II. 4. There was no significant relations between each constitutions and lumbar lordotic angle. 5. There was significant relations between each constitutions and BMI. Conclusions : In this study, The rate of Soyangin, among the low back pain patients, was higher. And the average of BMI was higher in Taeumin.
