Background & Objectives : Colorectal Cancer is 10% of all cancer incidence and the motality from colorectal cancer is nearly 450,000 a year. Since chemopreventive agents from Herbal medicine is hot issue recently, to prove antitumor effecicacy of Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction(Chijong-tang), clinical study was carried out. Here we report two patients with colorectal cancer of stage IV. One is colorectal cancer patient with liver, lung metastases underwent operation, chemotherapy. The other patient with liver metastasis underwent chemotherapy. All of two patients acquired tolerance. Methods : One patient visited Hana oriental medicine Clinic in 2010 and was treated using Chijong-tang for 17 months at Hana Oriental Clinic. The other patient visited Hana oriental medicine Clinic in 2011 and was treated using Chijong-tang for 5 months at Hana Oriental Clinic. Results : Chijong-tang showed no side effect, no more tolerance during its treatment with chemotherapy and tumor size was retarded based on CT scanning. Overall, this case report suggests that Rhus vernifciflua STOKES can be a potent cancer preventive agents for colorectal cancer but it is still required to verify the scientific and clinical evidences for Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-tang).

Using GIS, animal clinic's spatial distribution characteristics were analyzed. Animal clinic location data was collected through the Internet's Open API service. Approximately 4,100 animal clinics are operated in South Korea in 2011. And 47 % of these are located in the Seoul area. Population, especially female population and apartment resident's ratio affects the location factor of the animal clinic. The number of 25~44 year-old woman and animal clinics are high correlation. In the animal clinic location, distance from the road is more important than the distance of the metro.

The first reported the neural blockade of ganglion impar for pain control of perineal pain in 1990 by Plancarte and his fellows. they used 6ml of 10 percent phenol. but the point of issues, same as other neurolytics, are that it is impossible to check and control its spreading, so it might be possible to destruct the coccygeal plexus and sacral nerve, and also it has only short action time. Because of these problems, it could be very dangerous to attempt this procedure especially not for relieving the pain on cancer terminal patient, but for the sympathectomy of ganglion impar on the other purpose. We used the RF generator which had the control ability to point out the destructive lesion accurately. inserted We made the small burr hole on the sacrum near the sacrococcygeal junction directly, through the hole, and performed thermocoagulation to the ganglion impar.

Number of elderly patients requiring nerve blocks have been increasing in recent years. We had two elderly patients who suffered stroke one day and three days after lumbar facet joint block and lumbar single epidural block respectively. Both patients due to their advanced age had potential risk factor to suffer one or more of the following; stroke, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. Due to our experience with these patients, we suggested the following: (1) Nerve blocks should be reconsidered for elderly patient who posesses a potential risk factor to suffer a stroke. (2) Prior to invasive block administration of mild sedatives or analgesics may provide beneficial effects for patients with hypertension. (3) Adequately informed consent must be fully discussed time of consultation with patient scheduled for nerve block especially for elderly and risky patient.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the sports injuries of korea women hockey players before and during the international KT Cup game This study was done by survey questions about injuries of 20 players. The results were as follows: 1. Before game types of injuries are muscular strain ($51\%$), ligament injury ($25\%$), contusion ($8\%$), fracture ($8\%$), abrasion ($8\%$). But the types during game appeared as contusion ($50\%$), ligament injury ($33.3\%$), muscular strain ($16.7\%$). 2. Before game regions of injuries are lower limbs ($45.5\%$), back/torso ($36.4\%$), upper limbs ($18.2\%$). But the regions during game appeared as upper limbs ($71.4\%$), lower limbs ($28.6\%$). 3. During the game, the injuries were caused by ball ($66\%$), collision ($17\%$), that fall ($17\%$). These results indicate the importance that players need enough stretching before they start exercise. Also, in order to protect their upper limbs, players must wear gloves before games

Background: Recently, pain clinic is attracting attention and interest of both physicians and laymen. It is the purpose of this article to analyze our 10 years' experience to seek and improve better protocol of treating pain. Methods & Materials: We analyzed retrospectively 11,235 patients who visited the clinic during 10 years from 1986 to 1996. Total number of hospital visits was 51,908. Male to female ratio was 35：65(3910：7325). Treatment modalities employed were SGB(stellate ganglion block), TPI(trigger point injection), etc. Results: Yearly distribution showed a gradual upward curve until 1992 and remains in a horizontal pattern thereafter. Of age distribution, 6th decades occupied the largest proportion(27.29%). As of disease entities, Low back pain & lower extremities pain comprised of the majority(34.01%) and the epidural block was most frequently given as a treatment. Conclusion: Pain clinic is improving rapidly as an important part of medical science in Korea and outpatients of clinic are on an increasing trend. So, anesthesiologists should be make every efforts to research for treatment of good quality.

When medical therapy fail to relieve pain at tolerable level for patients confirmed with trigeminal neuralgia, presence of mass lesion excluded, surgery is indicated. Innumerable surgical strategies have been attempted for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia but only four have proven appropriate: (1)stereotactic radiofrequency gasserian ganglionotomy, (2) percutaneous glycerol gangliolysis, (3) percutaneous microcompression, (4) microvascular decompression. Radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the gasserian ganglion stems from the efforts of Sweet. This technique is the surgical treatment of choice around the world for surgical treatment for trigeminal neuralgia. Since 1986, over 14,000 cases have been reported utilizing this technique. To improve the treatment method further, an electrode with a flexible curved tip has been developed for easier and more precise electrode placement and lesion production during the thermocoagulation of gasserian ganglion. This operation was performed recently on three patients at Hallym University Hospital. using a curved tip electrode. Complete relief of pain was achieved for all patient. However, some complications were noted.

Frostbite involves freezing of tissues and usually affects the distal aspects of the extremities or exposed parts of the face. such as the ears, nose, chin, and cheeks. It produces tissue injury by ice crystal formation between the cells, cellular dehydration, and microvascular occulsion. There are four degrees of frostbite. First degree is accompanied by erythema and edema; second degree, by vesiculation, blistering, and eschar formation; third degree, by hemorrhagic blistering and bluish gray discoloration; and fourth degree, by injury to subcutaneous tissue, muscle, tendon, and bone leading to mottled, dry, black, and necrotic changes. We successfully treated 2 patients suffering from frostbite by performing sympathetic ganglion block with pure alcohol. We concluded sympathetic ganglion block is one of the most effective treatments for frostbite.

A 45-year-old male received cervical continuous epidural block for posterior neck pain radiating to right upper extremity secondary to cervical herniated nucleus pulposus. Three days after epidural catheterization, fever, radicular pain and weakness of both upper extremities were developed. On admission, his temperature was $38.3^{\circ}C$ and showed progressive weakness and numbness in both upper and lower extremities. Cervical epidural abscess was suspected; MRI showed an epidural abscess from C4 to C7 level. Within 24 hours of admission, surgical decompression and drainage was effected. Culture of pus obtained at the lesion yielded Staphylococcus aureus. He was treated with intravenous antibiotics for 7 weeks resulting marked improvement of neurologic signs and symptoms.

Caudal epiduroscopy has been introduced as an alternative technique for direct injection of epidural steroid and lysis of adhesion. Futher, it gives a better understanding of the role of epidural adhesion in recurrence of sciatica and low back disorder after surgery. We experienced a clinical application of flexible fiberoptic epiduroscope inserted through the sacral canal. A 37-year-old woman was suffering from right lumbar radiculopathy after an operation for a herniated disc. A series of volumetric caudal steroid injections and physical therapy had little effect on her symptoms. Patient was thought to be a good candidate for epiduroscopy. Flexible flberoptic epiduroscopy was as follows: 60 ml of normal saline irrigation and epidurogram, 40 mg of triamcinolone in 10m1 of normal saline was directed around right L5 nerve root. The following morning, patient reported reduced pain in her leg.
