The purpose of this paper is to develop waist coat designs that can be worn in the present day by researching design techniques and traditional waist coat forms shown on Korean patchworks called 'Jokakbo', which was commonly used in our traditional culture. By selecting patchwork as the primary motive in particular. The Bojaki, also known as deungguhli or baeguhli(背巨里), gives off a natural and vibrant color sensation. A new design that could be practically worn with modern clothing was developed by sufficiently reflecting this color sensation as well as the aesthetic quality of its geometric shape. On the basis of theoretical consideration of traditional cloth and vest, total of 7 points were designed and produced. These works contain diverse application of the traditional Bojaki and vest. The design of the Bojaki grants rhythmic sense to the side where diverse colors and formative patterns shown on the cloth can be seen as monotonous. The entire side opening of the traditional waistcoat can cover multiple sizes. Depending on the movement, the front and back naturally spreads. The vest can also be worn in layers or used as a cotton quilt depending on the season. And after minimal design alterations, it will be possible to wear the vest with diverse modern clothing due to its straight line and form.

본 연구는 충북 제천지역의 전통호텔 건립에 대한 타당성과 선호도를 파악하고, 향후 개발방향에 대한가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 설문지는 제천의 인근지역(단양, 청주, 원주)에 각 50부씩, 수도권은 100부를 포함한 300부를 배포하여 248부를 회수하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다.1. 전통숙박시설의 건축형태는 외관(한옥)/내부(서양식)의 절충형, 10만원 미만의 숙박요금, 전통음식점, 전통체험관 및 교육시설의 부대시설이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 2. 전통숙박시설의 이용목적에서 적절한 숙박요금과 위치(주변 관광지와의 연계)를 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 3. '한옥과 서양식의 혼합형'의 건축형태에서 10만원 또는 15만원대의 객실요금, 자연친화적이면서 전통문화를 체험할 수 있는 공간을 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 건축형태와 전통숙박시설에서 '한옥/서양식 절충형'은 객실/식음료의 적절한 가격, 청결과 매우 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Objectives : In this paper, the main objective is to analyze and evaluate Kim Gwangjin(金光鎭, 1885-1940)'s academical achievements of integration of eastern with western medicine and innovation of traditional medicine(TM, 漢醫). Methods : This paper is composed of two parts. First, analyzing Kim's medical book, the principle of Up and Down in Medicine(醫學升降法) by the way of text analysis and interpretation faithfully. Second, adding historical perspectives about his achievements. Results : Kim opened a clinic and practiced TM in Daegu, a city of Youngnam(嶺南) area of Korea, in 1924, and published the book in 1936. While Kim acknowledged the scientific results by western medicine and criticized the typical explanation of five viscera or qi circuits of TM, he clarified the treatment range for TM and provided his own interpretations of pathophysiology through the ups and downs of qi, without conflicting between western medicine and TM. Moreover, he critically follows the TM discourses of the most noted practitioner, Lee Gyoojoon(李圭晙), in the Youngnam area of the time. Conclusions : In the 1930s, although western medicine has become the new core orientation and has forced out TM to the districts, within the abyss of the districts, TM still maintained its strong presence.

There have been several attempts to describe the recent phonemona of e-tailing and the competition of e-tailers with traditional retailers. However, it appears that the previous models exhibit some shortcomings. With an extension of the well-known circular city model, this paper attempts to relax those limiting assumptions and addresses various issues around electronic commerce: whether e-tailing will eventually drive out traditional retailing, whether e-tailing will necessarily increase competition and lead to lower prices, and whether all the consumers will be better off with more alternatives to choose from.

The insulation characteristics of earthen core wall were studied in this paper. The overall heat transfer coefficients(U) were obtained through experiment in accordance with Korea Industrial standards. The result of the experiment are compared with the Regional Overall Heat Transfer Coefficient(U) of Building. This results inform that core wall with soil can be used as building walls because the insulation characteristics agree to the rule of building standards.

Energy saving is a very important subject for research workers nowadays. While most people are concerning with the modern methods, the authors investigated this problem from another angle- the chinese traditional methods of energy saving. The tunnel with technique and its combination with computer simulation and fuzzy compressive judgement methods are discussed. Earth heat green house, marsh gas, solar energy underground storage system, storing of nature cold sources, have been introduced in this paper.

This paper discusses Mr. Yang Shangsan's contribution to the theory frame of traditional Chinese medicine. He advocated initially the classification of Huangdi Neijing, which took preliminary shape of TCM theoretical rudiment. His Huangdi Neijing Taisu drew the outline of the TCM theoretical system framework and had a profound historical significance.

Underground flexible pipes for electric cables are subject to external loads and surrounding soil pressure. Particularly, strain of flexible pipes is of great concern in terms of safety and maintenance for electric cables. In this paper, stress and strain of flexible pipes with various depth are calculated using traditional formula and FEM analysis. The results show that theoretical values are more conservative in strain whereas FEM analysis gives larger stress. Considering the strain criteria - 3.5 %, maximum, flexible pipes can be buried at the range of 50cm to 5m in depth without additional soil improvement.

Most patients treated by physical therapists have suffered some neurological trauma resulting from disease or injury. The traditional teaching used to be that damage of central neurons is irreversible. However, it has been necessary to cast aside this traditional view because of accumulating evidence that the brain is endowed with remarkable plasticity. This paper reviews the literature relating to neuroplasticity within the brain and draws implications pertinent to physical therapy practice.

The purpose of this paper is to compare and analyze the national brand strategies between Korea and Italy and the ragional brand strategies between Jinju in Korea and Como in Italy. The study is conducted via periodicals and publication of related institutions, reports of various newspapers and academic journals, and interviews of Jinju Silk Research Institution and Tessile di Como. This study then examines the implication of the success of Italian national and regional brands to the Korean textile products and the adoptability of Italian brand strategies for Korean textile brand. Our findings suggest that the Italian brands have been successfully developed in terms of product quality and brand marketing based on their traditional products. The findings also indicate that the Korean traditional textile products have the potential to be the world wide products but lack the consist and brand strategies supported by the central government as well as the regional government. This paper further suggests that it is necessary to study the development of brand strategy based on the traditional textile products and its implimentation.
