  • Recently, a variety of special concrete structures have been designed in domestic and overseas construction markets and more advanced construction technology is required. Therefore, it is necessary to secure quantitative construction technology. For this purpose, it is essential to develop a standard reference material having a constant flow performance and quality to evaluate quantitative performance. On the other hand, the flowability of the concrete is greatly influenced by the flowability of the cement paste. Also, in consideration of design strength and workability, mix design is carried out at various mixing ratios according to the purpose of the site. Therefore, in this study, based on the derived components of standard reference materials for cement paste, we suggested mixing ratio of standard reference materials that can uniformly simulate the flow characteristics of cement paste according to W/C. As a result, it was found that the yield stress was determined by the ratio of water and glycerol but plastic viscosity was controled by limestone content. Finally, the ratio of standard reference materials to simulate the rheological range of cement paste by W/C was suggested.

  • Objectives : Job insecurity, such as non-standard work, is reported to have an adverse impact on health, regardless of health behaviors. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between non-standard employment and health in Korea. Methods : We analyzed a representative weighted sample, which consisted of 2,112 men and 1,237 women, aged 15-64, from the 1998 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Non-standard employment included part-time permanent, short time temporary and daily workers. Self-reported health was used as a health indicator. Results : This study indicated that women were more likely to report poorer health than men with standard jobs. Of all employees, 20.3% were female manual workers. After adjusting for potential confounders, such as age, education, equivalent income, marital, social and self-reported economic status and health behavior factors, nonstandard employment was found to be significantly associated with poor health among female manual workers (OR, 1.86; 95% CI, 1.24 to 2.79). No significant association was found in other working groups Conclusions : Among female manual workers, nonstandard employees reported significantly poorer health compared with standard workers. This result raises concern as there are increasing numbers of non-standard workers, particularly females.

The characteristics of the composition are as follows; First, One-third are general rules of common application, Second, regulations related to cold resistance are set up separately, last, each of the 21 articles was equally divided for schools, hospitals and prisons. The standard reflect the times of the mid-1910s. The Trend of using of the Western Building System in the 1910s, The need for building construction against cold weather, and Actual conditions of renovation, extension and new plans by facility. Furthermore, the fact that various regulations concerning standard design were enacted and used in various Japanese institutions around the 1910s may have influenced the establishment of the standard. Meanwhile, after checking the status of the reflection of the standard on the planning drawings of the government facilities around 1916, it was also found that the plan was carried out in compliance with the provisions of the standard, and that the items already applied before the enactment had been organized into architectural standards.

  • When designing protective clothing, there are something to be considered such as physiological feature of human body, acting range not to restrict physical activity, and effectiveness of material. Because the primary objective of protective clothing is to protect human body from danger and it is designed through complex designing process not likely general clothing design. However, current evaluation techniques-such as the ISO, the ASTM and the CEN, and KS-provide only the standard to evaluate the primary feature of material (testing, performance requirements, material specification, selection and application, test and care, and so on). There are no standard to evaluate influence for the human body while protective clothing put on. Especially, in Korea, there is KS to evaluate protective clothing, but it is partially translated version from ISO because of lack of core technology about this field. However, developed countries recognize it is new competitive means in the time of Global Standards and they are competing to make their own standard to global standard for the protective clothing. Therefore, it can be great opportunity for Korean clothing and textile industry to revitalize if focusing on research and development for protective clothing design based on physical activity of human body, fit evaluation technique and sizing which is currently no global standard for it and developing our standard to global standard.

The case foreign nation vehicle of the KTX vehicle where vehicle sound arresting from the side the high speed railroad use nations from the open ground with 64-68 dBA are used first of all from domestic and it compares and the efficiency almost is a possibility of knowing the beginning of history box from the interior sound arresting side. Also it will be developed from domestic and to case of the position KHST vehicle the speed 50 km/h is more speed up the KTX vehicle than in spite of the standard which is equal will pay with 350 km/h and it will be having and the possibility the strong point is knowing very from the interior sound arresting side it was. For railroad area along resident at the comfort improvement of the second the environment noise standard which it presents from the nation of most the patronage standard inland conforms in the law standard and the case high speed railroad of the place comparing domestic which is presented is not in spite of still prepared 2004 April commerce is operated standard easily not to be, it appeared with the fact that the speed governing one standard establishment by law is necessary.

  • Standard estimates are the numerical data of a unit quantity required for construction work such as the amount of materials, manpower, and the use of equipment required and are also a basis to calculate construction costs. Unfortunately, standard estimates for construction have also been used for garden construction these days as no standard estimates for garden construction have been developed or documented until now. As a result, many problems have arisen at garden construction sites since landscape construction and garden construction differ in terms of scope, size, design and construction methods. The purpose of this study was to develop standard estimates for garden construction for proper calculation of the cost of garden construction and to ensure gardens are created following appropriate construction processes. In order to develop standard estimates for garden construction, a preliminary survey was conducted on experts to understand current issues at first. After that, a questionnaire survey was done to examine problems of construction processes and ways of improvement, and on-site inspections were conducted utilizing CCTVs at construction sites to identify the actual amount of manpower required on site. Based on the results of the surveys and on-site inspections, a draft version of standard estimates for 5 types of planting work for garden construction was developed. Developing standard estimates for garden construction will serve as a stepping stone for the transparent and proper compensation for garden construction work, which will not only contribute to addressing issues between consumers and construction companies, but also to the stabilization of market economy and job creation.

  • Ondol is a traditional underfloor heating system designated as a national intangible cultural heritage of Korea. The Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) publishes a standard specification for the repair of cultural properties, including ondol. This standard specification is used as a guide for contractors who repair ondol in the field. However, the standard specification for ondol repair has some errors and is difficult to understand in the field. This paper proposes a revision of the standard specification for ondol repair. This study found that the standard specification for ondol repair has some problems in terms of the terminology and structure of ondol. These problems were sufficient to confuse ondol repairers in the field. Therefore, this study proposes to revise the standard specification to correct these errors and make it easier for ondol repairers in the field to understand. This study is expected to help recognize and preserve ondol as a cultural property and not just as a building.

  • Rear collisions to expressway work trucks result many casualties these days. But, currently, no special measure are being taken except deploying sign trucks behind the working trucks. In the U.S and Europe, trucks with TMA(Truck Mounted Attenuator) are being deployed behind the working truck, which is regarded as the standard method for work area safety, thereby reducing the fatality rates and property damage tremendously. Also, standard for the performance of TMA are established and TMA can be used in the field only when it satisfies the standard. In Korea, neither the standard for nor any guide to the TMA exists. In the situation some manufacturer developed TMA without proper performance evaluation and marketed limited number of TMAs in the field. In the study, NCHRP350, which is the performance standard of expressway safety features of U.S. and materials related to the TMA standard in Europe have been reviewed to establish the Korean performance criteria. Based on the review, and incorporating existing Korean standard for crash cushions, domestic standard for TMA has been proposed and applied in developing Korean TMA and crash tested it to verify the performance. The original design developed was crash tested and modified. The newly proposed design was studied using impact simulation program several times. Modifications were made after each simulation and prototype was built and crash tested as per the newly established TMA performance criteria.
