A case report for probable Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Disease improved by Korean-Western Medicine Treatment (한양방 동시치료로 호전된 추정 보그트-고야나기-하라다병 증례)

  • Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada(VKH) Disease is a bilateral granulomatous uveitis often associated with exudative retinal detachment and extraocular manifestations, such as pleocytosis in the cerebrospinal fluid and, in some case, vitiligo, poliosis, alopecia, and dysacusis. There has been no previous report for the disease in the field of Korean traditional medicine. The case was treated with conventional medical intervention and Korean traditional treatment including acupuncture and herbal medicine. The case was discharged with improvement in fundus photography and optical coherence tomography. The authors report the case to suggest that Korean medical approach combined with conventional treatment can be helpful for the disease.

A Case Report of Polyarteritis Nodosa Treated with Korean Medical Treatment (결절성 다발 동맥염 환자의 한방치료 치험 1례)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the one clinical experience of korean medical treatment on polyarteritis nodosa(PAN). Methods : We treated a 46-year old man patient with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, Daehwangchoseok-tang, Chijadaehwangsi-tang. We evaluated the improvement of patients by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and photography. Results : After the treatments, symptoms of skin lesion including pus, swelling, subcutaneous nodule and bleeding were improved and VAS of pain decreased from 10 to 1. Conclusions : This study shows that the korean medical treatment can improving symptoms of PAN.

  • Objective : To carry out the oriental medicine treatment on a patient with Retinal Artery Occlusion in the left Methods : 1. Diagnosis: Fundus photography, Colored paper. 2. Treatment: Acupunture, Herbal medications. Results : It reported that oriental medicine is an effective treatment for a patient who felt a pain in eyes and hardly recognized the light. Through the treatment, the patient is steadily able to relieve the pain in eyes; to be aware of the light; and to perceive the shape of the object and it' s movement. Conclution : 1. Retinal Artery Occlusion is acute disease that vision is diminished fastly and become a blindness. 2. It belong to the cathegory of Pock Maeng(暴盲) in Oriental Medicine. 3. We could get the effective result by providing the patient with Tongkuhwalhyol-tang and Moschus.

  • The spray distribution at high pressure condition was measured by the Tomography method. The constructed spray distribution was compared with the images by Indirect Photography method so that the spray size confirmed and took the boundary of the distribution. It confirmed that the Tomography applies to construct the distribution at high pressure.

  • The effect of Re-oxidation on the PTCR properties of Sm-doped barium titanate ceramics was investigated by means of impedance spectroscopy. Electrical properties such as resistance vs. temperature, I-V curve were measured and microstructure was observed with SEM photography. Sample was fabricated with thick film process such as tape casting of green sheet, screen printing of electrode pattern, stacking, firing in reduced atmosphere and re-oxidation, etc. As the temperature of re-oxidation increases, resistance jump as a function of temperature enhances but resistance at room temperature increases. These behavior of resistance as a function of temperature, dependent on the re-oxidation condition, is analyzed with Cole-Cole impedance plot and is shown to be related with the degree of oxidation of grain boundary regardless of grain core during re-oxidation process of sample.

  • 기건상태(氣乾狀態)에 있는 수원지방산(水原地方産)의 Robinia pseudoacacia의 종자(種子)가 속중성자조사처리(速中性子照射處理)를 받았을 때 약 2000 Rads의 조사량(照射量)으로서는 파종후 약 2주일(週日)이 된 때의 발아율(發芽率)에 큰 영향(影響)을 주지 않았으나 4200 Rads로서는 발아율(發芽率)의 현저한 저하(低下)가 보였다. 발아율(發芽率)에 입각(立脚)한 $LD_{50}$은 근계(根系)또는 유경장(幼莖長)에 입각(立脚)한 $LD_{50}$ 보다 높았다. X-ray photography로 종자형질(種子形質)이 사전(事前)에 조사(調査)되었었다.

  • All around tile world there has been great human and economical damage continuously by disasters like the earthquakes and storms(Tsunami) in eastern asia which recently occurred, and like the New Orleams hurricane in USA. The situation is our countries damage from natural disasters due to heavy snow, storms, forest fires have been increasing In this research we obtained GSIS data of the 05' Yang-yang forest fire disaster area using multi-sensors like airborne laser data, GPS/INS, aerial photograph surveying. In result we produced digital topographical maps, digital elevation models, digital external models, digital images, infrared images. By, analyzing and comparing with past aerial photography we obtained the exact damage area, amount of damage, estimated tile areas where a landslide might occur, and we analyzed vegetations amount of damage and possibility of recovery.

  • This paper deals with the experimental study of the turbulent flow fields by the hot-wire anemometer and the density fields by the Schlieren photography. In this study, the air mixed with CO$_{2}$ was used to visualize and to study this process and experimental parameters used were valve lift and valve shape. The results obtained are as follows: 1) The axial velocity of mixture flow passing a valve is changed greatly by valve seat angle and valve lift. Especially, it is changed more when the valve seat angles is 30.deg. and 45.deg. than when these are 60.deg. and 90.deg. 2) Experimental results by hot wire anemometer and Schlieren apparatus are very close together. The most satisfactory results are shown when the valve seat angle is 45.deg.

  • A light guide panel is an element of the LCD backlight module that is often used for the display of compact electronic devices. In this study, a laser marking system is proposed to fabricate light guide panel, which can replace other manufacturing methods such as silk printing, stamping, or v-cutting methods. The objective of this research is to evaluate the process parameters of the laser marking system. Light guide patterns were marked with a 50W $CO_2$ laser (CW) to understand the effects of average power and scanning speed on the geometry and quality of groove pattern. The width of the fabricated grooves increases with increasing laser power and decreasing scan speed. In order to analyze surface characteristics and optical properties (luminance, uniformity), SEM photography and BM7 (luminance measuring system) were used. As a result, the optimal conditions of the process parameters were determined.

A Study on the Architectural Characteristics of Lighthouses in Marine area (해양지역 등대시설의 건축적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to analyze architectural characteristics of lighthouse which were built in marine area. For achieving this goals, 78 lighthouses were set up as research targets, as they major lighthouses nationwide selected by the Korea Association of Aids to Navigation. The lighthouse of our country with a long historical time, as well as the value aspect in the construction of wooden centered way to the construction of buildings with brick, concrete, granite, that have influenced building. However, has so far not been actively in research on Lighthouse. For this study, site investigation was carried out measurement survey, photography and visual inspection of the lighthouse for the work of recording pixels lighthouse facility. Based on surveyed results, architectural characteristics of lighthouses were examined.
