  • In order to improve ScienceON as a customized portal for MZ generation, this study investigated the characteristics of MZ generation's use of information portals and the demand for ScienceON to derive ways to improve ScienceON. To this end, a survey was conducted on Generation MZ who had experience using ScienceON, and the direction of improvement of ScienceON was derived. The ScienceON improvement plan proposed in this study is as follows. First, it is necessary to derive a plan to be familiar with the MZ generation for the MZ generation seeking familiarity and convenience. Second, it is necessary to improve the portal, such as arranging intuitive menus and providing convenient information, and various ways such as improving design and UI and reorganizing functions provided by ScienceON are needed. Third, it is necessary to promote the spread of Science ON by providing content through various platforms such as SNS and YouTube. In the future, as interest in the MZ generation continues to increase, analysis studies on the characteristics and demand of the MZ generation are expected to increase. Therefore, this study can be used as basic data for research on MZ generation, and it is expected that it can be used as a reference for the demand for information search and services of MZ generation.

  • The food service industry has grown larger with changes in the economic and socio-cultural environment. In this saturated food service industry, generation X and MZ are the main consumer forces that demand attention. That is because a generation is the main psychographic factor that reflects personal values and lifestyle based on one's life cycle. From such a perspective, a generation in marketing has been used as a variable to predict a market by supplementing demographic factors. Accordingly, this study classified generations into generation X and generation MZ with the use of the 2019 consumer behavior survey for food by Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) and then investigated the factors influencing group and personal dining-out expenses. The analysis was carried out applying the Tobit model using SPSS and R. The positively influential variables on generation X's personal dining-out expenditure were male, single person, high income and simple lifestyle, whereas housewives, personal ethical consciousness, behavioral ethical consciousness, and safe dietary life were negatively influential variables. The positively influential variables on generation MZ's personal dining-out expenditures were male, dual-income, high education level, corporate and governmental ethical consciousness, while the number of family members and safe dietary life were negatively influential variables.

  • As non-face-to-face elements became important due to COVID-19, the metaverse received social attention, and the MZ generation became the main users of public libraries. In light of this trend, it is necessary to introduce services for the MZ generation, the main users of public libraries, and to provide services tailored to social development. Therefore, this study investigated the perception of the metaverse through questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews, centered on the MZ generation, and then proposed a method for applying the metaverse to users in public libraries. According to the results of the study, the direction for the introduction of the metaverse in public libraries was suggested. First, it is necessary to provide basic education and information about the metaverse. Second, it is necessary to provide services that take advantage of the community based on communication. Third, a program that is not constrained by time and space should be provided. Fourth, services by librarians should be provided by enhancing the librarians' expertise on the metaverse. Fifth, services for generation M must be provided.

  • The current era's focus is on the surge in real estate prices triggered by the global economic downturn. This study advocated STO-based dispersed investment for the MZ generation, who has less capital than earlier generations. Existing real estate investment methods were categorized into online, offline, and hybrid formats and the effectiveness of the suggested STO was given in this study through case analysis domestically and overseas. The entry of STO into the financial industry was positively proved, and the efficacy of blockchain technology was validated, through the investigation of the STO framework. The findings of this study are projected to revitalize the new real estate sector by actively supporting the access of the MZ generation into the current inflexible real estate investment market by the application of blockchain and reflecting MZ generation's investment propensity.

  • This study investigates the impact of servicescape elements in franchise fast food restaurants on the attitudes and revisit intentions of Generation MZ. Employing a mixed-methods approach, we surveyed 231 MZ consumers across five major urban centers. Our findings reveal that ambient conditions, spatial layout, and technology integration significantly influence MZ consumers' perceptions and behaviors. Specifically, sustainability-oriented design, customizable spaces, and seamless digital integration emerged as key drivers of positive attitudes and increased revisit intentions. Furthermore, we identify important generational differences, with Gen Z placing higher importance on Instagram-worthy aesthetics and contactless service options compared to Millennials. This research contributes to servicescape theory by proposing a novel framework tailored to MZ consumers in the fast food context. It offers practical implications for franchise operators seeking to attract and retain this crucial demographic. Our study highlights the evolving preferences of younger consumers and underscores the need for adaptable servicescape strategies in the fast food industry. The results suggest that franchises investing in environmentally conscious designs, flexible spaces, and cutting-edge technology are likely to see improved customer satisfaction and loyalty among MZ consumers. Future research could explore the long-term effects of these servicescape elements on brand perception and market share within the competitive fast food landscape.

  • This study investigated college students' demand for academic information portals and conducted an improvement plan to help ScienceON become an eco-friendly portal for college students. To this end, an academic information portal similar to ScienceON was investigated and analyzed, and FGI interviews were conducted with college students to derive improvements based on the problems ScienceON felt by college students. The improvement measures proposed based on the research results are as follows. First, it is necessary to strengthen the integrated search function and instill confidence that college students can obtain all the information they want from ScienceON. Second, it is necessary to have UIs such as Google and Naver, which are preferred by college students, and improve the current hard design. Third, it is necessary to make ScienceON familiar by promoting it targeting lower grades of the university. Currently, college students belong to the MZ generation, and the MZ generation is expected to become a generation that forms a social core in the future, and related research on the MZ generation is increasing. Therefore, this study can be used as basic data for research on MZ generation, and in particular, it seems that it can be used as a reference for the demand for information search and services of MZ generation.
