This paper is intended to analyze and investigate the versity libraries in Korea. Nineteen national col-present status of four-year national college and unileges and universities based on a number of faculty member, enrollment, department, library staff, volumes in library, academic journals, book budget and facilities of library, and so we have to improve and develop a kind of problems with which national college and university libraries are confronted as follows: 1) Establishment of a position for the INFORMATION SPECIALIST. 2) Reorganization of the organization of college and university library. 3) Securing a position for the EDUCATIONAL RESEARCHER. 4) Upgrading a part of temporary employees. 5) Securing a self-control of library's administration. 6) Revising rules for labor employees in library. 7) Revising a STANDARD STATEMENT FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF UNIVERSITY. (Books and academic journals) 8) ' ( Facilities of library ) 9) Increase of a budget of library and establishing for an article of library budget. 10) Establishment of a new department exclusively responsible for library administration in the Ministry of Education. 11) Giving a leading(proper) role to Seoul National University Library among the other college and university libraries. 12) Establishment of The master course of INFORMATION SCIENCE or THE RESEARCH CENTER FOR INFORMATION SCIENCE in Seoul National University.

The Five Laws of Library Science was introduced into Japan in 1935. After World War II, it was widely disseminated among young librarians by the education for librarianship developed in the 1950's. Its concept, "Books for All," met a serious opposition from local authorities based on their long continued concept of "preservation." After they realized that people eagerly use local libraries, they interpreted that the duty of public library was "lending books." They introduced "Privatization" of libraries into quite a few local libraries in order to save money. For overcoming problems, it is important to disseminate the library concept among the public, the assembly members and government officials planning to change their attitude of disregarding libraries. As the fundamental library philosophy, the Five Laws of Library Science is important. In the commentary of the Five Laws written by the present writer, he included an illustration of triangle pyramid showing the structure of the Five Laws. He included here the spiral of study on the library and the library science, based on the Section 814 of the Five Laws. He welcomes discussions on his Japanese angle from different viewpoints in order to develop further understanding of the Five Laws.

The most good library's service will be accomplished for the system of user centralized and we can't expect the development of school library without student's use. This research has been designed for an attempt to know why students don't use the school library. The methods employed to achieve the purpose of this study are (1) To establish some tentative factors affecting the school library's use or nonuse (2) to get necessary data, a questionnaire was made according to the tentative factors. A questionnaire was sent to teacher and students in the 4 sample high schools in Seoul. The followings are the am lysed results. (1) School library's collection are poor. (2) The school library's equipment and position are bad. (3) The guide or use instruction of school library are not carried out. (4) Teacher librarian can not reach the demand of the society and the atmosphere of library are not good. (5) The books are not lent to students and the circulation procedure are complicated. (6) Our country's educational programme does not organize to promote using the school library. (7) Teachers' knowledge for using the library are poor. (8) Entrance examination of the university disturbed to use the school library. (9) The school administration are not enough to understand about the school library.

This study aimed to discuss the utilization of a makerspace regarding 3D printers in a children's library by conducting co-design sessions targeting the end-users, children. To achieve this, a program utilizing a 3D printer was conducted for seven children at the Seoul Children's Library, followed by interviews with both the children and their parents. The results revealed several key findings: First, during the design sessions, participating children showed interest in the physical realization of ideas through the use of a 3D printer. Researchers adjusted their level of intervention based on each child's tendency, playing a supportive role. Second, children became aware of various limitations associated with 3D printers and public library makerspace. Third, the rapport between children and researchers positively influenced the design sessions, driven by the active communication of children. This study suggests a reevaluation of the value and necessity of library makerspace from the perspective of user autonomy and creativity and emphasizes the need to closely understand the end user's requirements in establishing operational strategies for library makerspace.

모든 도서관은 지식과 정보를 위한 광장이다. 따라서, 도서관은 모든 이용자에게 모든 자료를 자유롭게 이용할 수 있도록 제도적인 장치를 마련하여야 한다. 제도적인 장치는 일반적으로 도서관 권리선언의 형태로 나타난다. 본 연구는 향후 우리나라가 도서관 권리선언을 채택할 경우에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 그래서 여기에서는 도서관 권리선언의 의의를 살펴보고, 미국과 일본의 도서관 권리선언의 변천과 내용을 분석하여 공통된 구성요소를 도출하였다. 미국과 일본은 공히 공식기구인 도서관협회에서 도서관 권리선언을 채택하고, 권리선언을 유지\ulcorner발전시키고 도서관의 자유가 침해되는 문제가 발생할 경우 이를 해결하기 위한 상설기구를 설치하고 있다. 도서관 권리선언의 공통된 구성요소는 자료수집의 자유, 자료제공의 자유, 검열 거부, 관련단체와의 협력, 개인의 도서관이용 권리, 도서관의 시설 이용, 이용자의 비밀유지 등이다.

이 연구의 목적은 지역대표도서관 건립을 위한 절차와 과정, 그리고 주요 고려사항들을 분석하여 적절한 계획을 제시하는 것이다. 지역 도서관정책의 허브이자 지역을 대표하는 도서관으로서 지역 도서관 정보정책을 총괄하고 중앙정부와의 협력 사업을 원활하게 수행하기 위한 핵심 지식정보인프라 역할을 하는 지역 대표도서관의 건립은 꼭 필요한 과제이다. 이러한 차원에서 이 연구에서는 부산광역시의 대표도서관 건립 계획을 사례로 하여 시민 모두가 자유롭게 어우러지는 신개념 복합문화공간으로서의 대표도서관 건립의 필요성과 타당성을 가늠하고, 향후 지역에서 대표도서관을 건립할 경우를 대비하여 지역대표도서관의 사명과 비전, 기능과 역할, 그리고 건축계획의 사례를 제시하고자 하였다.

새로운 형태의 도서관으로 휴먼라이브러리는 도서나 인쇄매체가 아닌 사람이 정보자료가 되어 이용자와 직접 커뮤니케이션을 통하여 지식과 정보를 전달하는 도서관서비스의 개념이다. 휴먼라이브러리는 '사람책(휴먼북)'을 통하여 정보를 교환하기 때문에 기존의 도서관서비스와는 다른 특성을 내포하게 되며 새로운 도서관 형태로서의 의의를 지니게 된다. 이에 본 연구는 서울시 성북구에서 실시된 휴먼라이브러리에 관하여 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 휴먼라이브러리에 대한 이론적 배경과 성북구의 휴먼라이브러리의 배경을 살펴본 후, 이를 바탕으로 2012년과 2013년에 진행된 성북구의 휴먼라이브러리에 대한 사례분석을 통해 구체적인 내용과 실태 및 영향을 미치는 요소들을 분석 제시함으로써 휴먼라이브러리에 관한 이해 증진에 일조하고자 한다.

이 연구에서는 지역도서관 정책 추진에 따른 주요한 역할을 수행해야 하는 광역도서관위원회의 운영 개선을 위해 지역도서관 정책의 중심축에 따라 두 가지 개선 모델을 제안하였다. 제1안의 모델은 본청 내 도서관 정책부서 중심으로 광역도서관 정책 추진에 따른 광역도서관위원회 도서관 정책 심의 기능을 강화할 수 있도록 제안하였으며, 제2안의 모델은 광역대표도서관 중심의 지역도서관 정책 추진에 따라 광역도서관위원회는 정책 거버넌스 역할을 하도록 제안하였다. 제안한 광역도서관위원회 운영 개선 방안의 실효성 있는 추진을 위해서는 제2안에 따라 「도서관법」에서의 광역도서관위원회 기능과 위원장 및 부위원장에 대한 격상이 필요하다. 그리고 광역지방자치단체별 광역도서관위원회 운영에 관한 사항에 관하여 표준화된 자치법규로 규정될 수 있도록 표준 자치법규(안)을 제안하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 도서관 발전을 위하여 표어의 특징, 유형에 대한 이론을 정리하고 도서관 주간의 표어를 조사하고 분석하는데 있다. 도서관 주간의 표어를 분석해 보면 간결하고 도치된 표어가 많다. 대구와 반복 음절을 쓰고 있다. 청유형과 서술형, 명사형이 많고 국어로 된 단어가 대부분이다. 그리고 반복하여 계속 사용되고 있으며, 한 시대의 목표와 철학을 나타내고 있다.

Last twenty years since the introduction of library science as a new scholarship to Korea are considered as a period of imitation and wander. We are supposed to try relevant changes in library education to settle it down and to keep up with world trends in Korea. This paper discusses development and status quo of curricula in foreign countries and tries to show a guide for the library science field in Korea. The writer makes recommendations for the improvement of curricula for Korean library schools.
