New Distribution Strategies of Korean SMEs in Post COVID-19 Pandemic Era: Focusing on the Innovation of Official Distribution Channels

  • Purpose - In this study, we aim to explore new distribution strategies for sustainable growth in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, focusing on SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in Korea, and suggest ways to upgrade the government's official distribution channel to the next level. Design/methodology - First of all, this paper explored the prior research, the current status of sales support for SMEs, and the changes in the distribution industry due to COVID-19 pandemic. Based on Moon (2016)'s ABCD strategic model - Agility, Benchmarking, Convergence, and Dedication, the study then derived directions in which official distribution channels should move and the new distribution strategy for Korean SMEs to secure competitive advantage. Findings - First, in terms of 'Agility', in order to upgrade official distribution channels, which are currently at some competitive disadvantages compared to private distribution companies, we must quickly introduce technologies for the 4th industrial revolution, such as AI, Big Data, etc., and establish precise strategies to strengthen the capabilities of SMEs. Second, in terms of 'Benchmarking', the use of "Chamelezones" has been increasing to enhance the competitiveness of offline stores in line with recent ontact trends. Therefore, official distribution channels should also benchmark such cases, strengthening their competitiveness by utilizing offline spaces more efficiently and effectively. Third, in terms of 'Convergence', in line with the rapidly changing trend of the times, official distribution channels should also promote active partnerships with media commerce, e-commerce and ICT platforms, as well as cooperation with private retailers, and focus on creating synergy effects through them. Finally, from the perspective of 'Dedication', digitalization should be promoted step by step, finding the sector that can accelerate digital among the value chains of official distribution channels, and continuing to discuss how to digitize it realistically. Originality/value - Based on this analysis, we have presented strategies and implications for innovating official distribution channels for SMEs, which will contribute to enhancing the competitive advantage of official distribution channels in the post COVID-19 pandemic era.

Systematic Search and Qualitative Evaluation of Dietary Supplement Mobile Applications: Using the Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS)

  • Background: Mobile applications (apps) on dietary supplements can increase consumers' access to information. However, it can lead to indiscriminate use of dietary supplements. This study aims to systematically review dietary supplement apps released in English and Korean and evaluate the quality of those apps. Methods: Through the app stores, apps on dietary supplements were systemically searched and examined. Two independent evaluators evaluated the apps and presented a mean score using the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS). The correlation between MARS scores, user and evaluator ratings, and the number of secondary features of the apps were analyzed. Results: Of the 2,772 dietary supplement apps identified, 17 apps were included according to the selection criteria. The mean MARS score was 3.28 (standard deviation: 0.29) out of 5. Apps had higher scores in aesthetics and functionality dimensions, while engagement and information dimensions had lower scores. There was a positive correlation between the number of app downloads and information among MARS dimensions. The subjective evaluation also correlated with the information dimension. There was a positive correlation between the secondary features of the apps and MARS total score as well as the engagement dimension. Conclusion: The dietary supplement apps need to be managed at a higher level of quality to provide safe and reliable information to consumers. Especially, quality on information and engagement dimensions can be improved. Involvement of healthcare professionals in the app development, management with adequate referencing of information, and use of secondary features for enhanced user engagement can be helpful.

결함 접지 구조를 이용한 주파수 스캐닝 방식의 마이크로파 태그 시스템 (Frequency-Scanning Type Microwave Tag System Using Defected Ground Structures)

  • 본 논문에서는 결함 접지 구조를 갖는 다중 공진기를 이용하여 인식 코드를 생성한 주파수 스캔 방식의 마이크로파 태그 시스템을 제안하였다. 기존의 칩 기반 RFID가 시간 순차 비트에 의한 코드를 저장하였던 반면, 제안된 방식은 주파수에 따른 순차적 비트 인식을 공진기를 이용하여 구현함으로써 완벽한 수동 태그를 설계하였다. 또한, 공진기로 사용한 맴돌이형 결함 접지 구조는 전송선로의 후방 배치가 가능하여 리더 신호의 공진기 재방사에 의한 비트 오류를 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 우수한 대역 저지 특성을 가지고 있다. 제안된 마이크로파 태그는 UWB 안테나와 함께 3~7 GHz 대역에서 설계되었으며, 무반향실 환경에서 다양한 5비트 코드의 인식 실험 결과 우수한 특성을 확인하였다.

전자상거래에 대한 대학생의 인식과 구매태도 (College Students' Perceptions on Electronic Commerce)

  • 이 논문은 상거래의 혁명이라고 불리 우는 EC에 대한 우리나라 대학생의 인식수준과 구매태도를 조사 분석한 것이다. 조사는 Kalakota와 Whinston의 ${\ulcorner}$EC소비자 구매단계 모형${\lrcorner}$을 중심으로 한 구매태도와 EC에 대한 전반적 인식수준에 초점을 맞추었다. 분석결과, (1) 제품검색 경로는 심마니나 Yahoo와 같은 전문검색사이트를 가장 선호하였고, (2) 인터넷 쇼핑대상 제품은 대체로 분산된 편이나 호텔 비행기 예약, 음반 CD/Tape, PC와 PC부품/software, 꽃 배달, 서적 등이 주종을 이루었고, (3) 구매가격의 범위는 $5{\sim}10$만원, (4) EC의 가격수준은 싼 것 같지 않다고 인식, (5) 결제시스템에 대한 불만, (6) 반품 교환 A/S에 대한 불신 등이 발견되었다. 이에 대한 마케팅시사점으로, 향후 EC를 이용하려는 기업은 분석개요에서 지적한 점들을 토대로 하여 ${\ulcorner}$EC고객의 본원적 복구${\lrcorner}$에 초점을 둔 마케팅전략을 개발해야할 것이다.

백화점 푸드코트 식당의 고객 동선에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Customer Circulation of Food Court Restaurants in Department Stores)

  • This research studied the characteristics of the customer circulation in four department store food court restaurants located in Seoul. The characteristics of the customer circulation are the following: Before customers leave the dining space where they eat food, they come and go to spaces such as the water purifier space, the napkin storage, and the cup storage. On the other hand, they do not come and go from the dining space to the waste area or the area where used cups are returned. Therefore the spaces, that need to be located very near the dining space, are the water purifier space, the cup storage, and the napkin storage. The waste area does not have to be placed very near the dining area and the area where used cups are returned is not needed. A minority of customers drink water and use napkins after going to the waste area and the area where dirty dishes are kept. To prevent these customers from going against the circulation of the majority of customers, a water purifier space, a cup storage, and a napkin storage should be placed additionally connecting to the waste area and the area where dirty dishes are kept. For effective circulation plan and spatial composition of food court restaurants, these characteristics of customer circulation should be considered. It is not recommended to place the water purifier space, the napkin storage, and the cup storage, the waste area or the area where used cups are returned, and the hand cleansing facility in the same location just for the convenience of workers.

레이더 데이터 분석을 위한 Fuzzy Logic 기반 클러스터링 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fuzzy Logic based Clustering Method for Radar Data Analysis)

  • 클러스터링 기법은 탐색적 자료 분석 기법으로 알려진 중요한 데이터마이닝 기법 중 하나로서 패턴 인식, 원격 탐사 등의 분야에 사용되고 있다. 이 방법을 이용하여 데이터의 기본 구조를 추출하고, 개체의 군집화 혹은 군집의 계층을 조직한다. 기상 레이더는 대기 중에 존재하는 물체에서 반사되는 신호를 이용하여 관측을 수행하고, 해당 좌표에 데이터를 저장하는 원리로 동작하는데, 이를 분석하기 위해서는 흩어져있는 레이더 데이터를 유사도를 바탕으로 강수에코와 비강수에코를 구분하여 군집화 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 클러스터링 기법을 레이더 데이터에 적용하는 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 또한, 강수에코와 비강수에코가 인접해 있을 경우 발생할 수 있는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 퍼지 로직과 계층적 클러스터링 기법을 접목하여 유사도를 판별하는 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 실제 사례를 바탕으로 본 논문에서 제안한 클러스터링 기법을 적용한 결과, 강수에코와 비강수에코가 인접해 있는 경우 기존 기법보다 좋은 결과를 도출하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

대전지역 지하상가의 대기오염도에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Air Pollution in the Underground Shopping Store of Taejon Area)

  • In order to assess the level of atmospheric pollution and to contribute the hearth improvement of residents in Taejon city, the authors were measured the concentration of air pollutants(CO, SO$_2$, NO$_2$, TSP, Pb, Cd, Cr) at three places of the control road in Taejon. The investigative research performed bimonthly from May 1993 to September 1993, and the places were the underground shopping stores of Taejon station, Dongyang department store and provincial goverment areas. The results of statistical analysis are as followings. \circled1CO :0.569~0.966ppm \circled2SO$_2$:0.084~0.170ppm \circled3NO$_2$:0.0045~0.022ppm \circled4TSP:249~299$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥. \circled5Pb :0.366~1.157$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥. \circled6Cd:0.016~0.025$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥. \circled7 Cr : 0.198 ~0.290$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥. The mean concentration of SO$_2$in Dongyang department store area was 0.17ppm, and it exceeded the ambient air quality standard by 0.02ppm. The concentration of TSP was higher than a standing rule of public hygiene, and it was very near to a standing rule of environmental preservation. The standing rule of indoor air pollution in underground shopping store have two different laws, the public hygiene and the environmental preservation. Therefore, it was difficult to judge what to do in such circumstance. In regarding to the laws, an environmental standard for air pollution in the underground space must unify into the standard of public hygiene.

광주 지역 성인의 기능성 식품의 섭취 및 구입에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Consumption and Purchase of Functional Foods in Gwangju)

  • The purpose of this study is to know about the consumption patterns of functional foods and their associated factors for contributing to the promotion of healthiness on Gwangju residents. The results obtained are summarized as follows: in terms of age, 35.9% of men (n=78) and 52.3% of women (n=128) are found in the age range of $45{\sim}54$ which comprises the highest portion of age distribution. 49.5% of subjects had college education or more. In the occupation category, 33.3% of the men had business job positions, and 39.8% of women were in the unemployed (housewife) category. Stress relief was the most important factor to maintain good health. 76.2% of the subjects have experience in consuming functional foods. The main reason for taking functional foods was to maintain health. Information and reliability of effectiveness were considered when selecting functional foods. Purchasing functional foods was motivated by family members, relatives, and/or the subjects themselves. Functional foods were mainly purchased from pharmacies or health food stores. Regular exercise, drinking, periodical medical checkups, and eating score all are taken into consideration with the consumption of functional foods.77.9% of subjects recognized functions for functional foods purchased. 18.8% of subjects experienced side effects after intaking functional food. Therefore, functional foods should be managed by the government and nutrition education for consumers should be required to encourage them to choose functional foods more satisfactorily and safely.

  • 인간은 에너지 섭취와 소모에 있어 변동이 심한 편이지만 비교적 일정한 체중을 유지하고 적절하게 섭식행동을 조절한다. 그러나 이러한 조절기전에 문제가 발생하면 비만이나 그 이외의 다른 섭식장애를 일으키게 되며 다양한 후유증을 야기한다. 본 논문에서는 최근에 소개되기 시작한 호르몬인 leptin이 섭식의 조절과 에너지의 항상성을 조절하는데 있어 어떻게 중요한 작용을 하게되는지 조사하여 주로 정신과 영역에서 관심을 기울일 만한 부분에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. Leptin이 처음 발견되었을 때 그 역할은 주로 음식의 섭취를 제한하고 에너지의 소모를 증가시키는 호르몬으로 소개되었지만, 점차 그 이외의 다른 신체 기능 즉, 생식주기나 신경대분기계에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 보고되면서 정선과 영역에서 차지하는 비중도 확대되고 있다. 그러나 leptin의 작용기전은 매우 복잡하며 많은 부분이 아직도 불분명한 상태에 있다. 이에 저자들은 중추신경계에서 현재까지 알려진 leptin의 작용기전에 대해 살펴보고 섭식과 관련된 그 밖의 다른 신경전달물질들과의 상호작용 그리고 섭식장애와의 관련성에 대해서 최근 문헌들을 조사하여 함께 고찰하고자 한다.

패밀리레스토랑 중간관리자의 리더십스타일에 따른 종사원의 직무만족 (An Investigation of the employee Job Satisfaction according to Leadership Style in Family Restaurant)

  • The purposes of this study were to measure the correlation between leadership style and job satisfaction in family restaurants, and to compare the effectiveness of two different styles of leadership: transformational and transactional. The questionnaire used in this study was designed to measure all variables in the research model, and was made two kinds for employees and for managers. It was distributed to 550 employees and 12 managers in 16 stores of 4 family restaurants, from September 10 to October 7, 2004. A total of 303 usable employees' questionnaires were received, giving a 55.0% response rate, and all of managers responded. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS Win(11.0) for the following analyses: descriptive, reliability, factor, ANOVA, correlation and cluster. The results were as follows. First, the most influential leader was the senior staff in most of the hierarchies that were studied. Second, transformational leadership had a positive correlation with job satisfaction for family restaurant employees, while transactional leadership had a negative correlation. Third, using cluster analysis, four leadership groups were identified: transformational(44%), transactional(29%), a combination of both styles(4%), and unidentifiable style(23%). Fourth the transformational leadership group produced e highest rates job satisfaction for family restaurant employees. The transactional leadership group produced the lowest job satisfaction. According to the results, the most reasonable leadership style in family restaurants is transformational leadership.
