A Comparative Study of Bat Patterns in Clothes and Personal Ornaments of China and Korea (복식에 표현된 한.중 박쥐문양의 형태적 비교)

  • We, in this thesis, examined the similarities and differences of bat patterns in China and Korea, along with a consideration of how two peoples understood bats and how their understanding of bats developed and also influenced the bat patterns. As for research period, the Ming(明) dynasty and the Qing(淸) dynasty in China and the Chosun dynasty in Korea were considered. The subjects of this study included clothes, personal ornaments, and embroidery. This research was done by comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences of two countries' bat patterns. The results of comparing and analyzing Chinese and Korean bat patterns were as follows: In terms of similarity, people of two countries understood bat patterns as the symbol of happiness. Therefore, they were used in clothes, personal ornaments, and daily necessities. In terms of difference, bat patterns of two countries had different shapes. In China, colorful and realistic single bat patterns were shown as intensive composition, whereas in Korea plain and simple bat patterns were used. These differences resulted from different way of understanding of bat patterns. It can be concluded that the bat patterns can be a great cultural commodity with high commercial values, if the traditional pattern is used as a unique element of the Oriental designs and altered and developed to attract consumers' attention.

A Study on Utilization of Japanese Consumers and the Present Condition of Northeast Asia Processed Eels (장어 시판제품에 대한 동북아시아의 가공현황 및 일본인 소비자의 구매실태 조사)

  • This study investigated the current processing degree and ingredients of sauce on the packaging of the commercial eel products made in Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan) and surveyedthe perception of nutritional functionality and purchasing pattern of Japanese consumers for the processed eels. The results are considered as a useful aid for preparation of processed eel products. The commercial eel products, purchased at a department store, supermarket and discount market, were divided by processing method, package quantity, storage method and sauce ingredients. The processing method was indicated in many different ways in each country, such as sauce ingredients and intake method. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 105 Japanese consumers (male 43, female 62) visiting Korea. Of the respondents, 44% answered and the major reasons for purchasing processed eel products were as a side dish for meals. The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.05). The degree of perceptions of functional excellence about processed eel products was well known (37%), some (49%), and seldom (14%). The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.001). Seventy-five percent of the respondents had experienced processed eel products. The type of purchase of the respondents was highest for vinegared rice and fish (47%), followed by freezing (33%), canning (5%), and dried food (4%), in that order.

  • This thesis researches how country image and product attributes as well as brand personality influence U.S.A, Chinese and Indian Consumers' Korean automobile brand selection and the strategic implications of this study are as follows. First, Country image and Brand personality have more influence on U.S.A Consumers than Chinese and Indian consumers on selection of Korean automobiles. Second, All three of consumers have more influence by product attributes than other two factors, Chinese consumers has more influences by product attributes than U.S.A and Indian consumers have. Throughout this study it can be acutely recognized that brand personality and product attributes as well as country image influence on selection of automobiles made in Korea although there exist differences among three other consumers. This study suggests Hyundai automobiles in U.S.A, China and India need effort to develop representative brands with a unique personality.

The Influential Relations on Sharing Economy and Consumer Traits (공유경제와 소비자의 특성과의 영향 관계)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to grasp the concept, characteristics and application status of sharing economy, and to derive a research model based on sharing economic service, and to analyze factors and influences of consumers' intention to reuse of sharing economy. Research design, data, and methodology - The questionnaires were created to examine variables for practical and theoretical implications. After pilot survey, conducted for 24 days from March 10th to April 2st in 2017, total numbers were 377. But 330 copies were used for the analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 23.0. The structural equation model was applied for this. Results - First, sharing economic services remain at an early stage, but it is meaningful to identify the revenue mechanism of the business model of the sharing economic platform. Second, in this study, it is meaningful that we systematized the theoretical structure by examining existing studies on the characteristics of the sharing economic service and consumer characteristics, and by examining empirically. Third, Satisfaction and Reliability are related to the characteristics of Sharing Economic Service (Security, Convenience, Discount, Sharing, Social Interaction), Consumer Characteristics (Personal Innovation, Word-of-Mouth) It is meaningful to broaden the understanding of the factors by verifying the mediating effect. Fourth, the sharing economy business is meaningful in that it is a new consumption trend that changes the meaning of consumption to consumers. Gradually, more and more people are recalling that purchasing something is not consumption, but sharing and borrowing is also consumption. In other words, through the sharing economy, consumers can experience more products and services, have more choices, and are expected to have a positive impact on economic growth by increasing the utilization of idle resources. Conclusions - Currently, the sharing economy is growing rapidly all over the world. Therefore, in the subsequent study, it is necessary to compare Korea and China's sharing economy and study the cultural and social characteristics of Korea and China. In particular, I think that steady research is necessary for more precise and specific direction on the influence of the shared economy.

The New Korean Wave in China: Chinese Users' Use of Korean Popular Culture via the Internet

  • Although the Korean Wave originated in China, its presence in this country had been faltering for some time. Recently, however, Korean Wave star centered K-drama via online video websites, Korean Wave TV programs with high ratings, and idol group centered K-pop with glocalization strategies are all popular in China once again. The purpose of this paper is to explore Chinese teens and twenty year olds as the main consumers of Korean popular culture and the how preferred genres, motives, and behaviors of Korean pop culture use and Korean image affect one another. According to the study results, media use via online video service was most common, and among the preferred genres, K-drama has the highest usage rates. In addition, it was discovered that motives and behaviors associated with the use of Korean pop culture had a considerable influence on a positive Korean image.

Research on Influencing Factors of Purchasing Behavior of AI Speakers in China based on the UTAUT and TTF Model

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence the purchase of AI speakers in China. We integrate the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Task-technology fit (TTF) model into one model and put forward assumptions. According to the characteristics of AI speakers, we selected 6 independent variables, such as Performance Expectation, Effort Expectation, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Task and Technology-characteristics. The final impact on purchase behavior is evaluated through Task-technology fit and purchase intention. After counting 478 samples, through SPSS22.0 and AMOS analysis, hypotheses have been proved by strong experimental data, except facilitating conditions. These results also imply that improving the technical level of AI speakers and enhancing consumers' purchasing intention are the central line of marketing. Based on this, we put forward several suggestions to marketers, including strengthening the research and development of AI speaker technology, and building a circle of friends of AI speakers.

  • Real-time two-way communication has become an important factor in the relationship between consumers and broadcasters in the Live Commerce environment. To clarify, the relationship of the factors, and the effect of Live Commerce's on consumer purchase intention were examined. In addition, the role of Wanghong, who broadcasts Live Commerce and Co-experience that occurs between consumer and broadcasters influences consumer purchase intention. An online survey method was conducted for 403 subjects in their 20s that were Live Commerce users in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, China. The number of final the data used for the analysis was 274 and anlaysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 program and a Sobel test was employed. Based on the analysis of the data, it was found that Live Commerce's characteristics consisted of interactivity, security, and Wanghong's characteristics consisted of honesty, originality, and expertise. Also, it revealed that Co-experience was consisted of responsiveness and vividness. Second, for Live Commerce's characteristics, the Wanghong's characteristics, and Co-experience had a positive effect on the consumers' purchase intention. Third, the Wanghong's characteristics and vividness, a factor of Co-experience, had significant mediating effects on the relationship between Live Commerce's characteristics and the consumers' purchase intention. Finally, responsiveness of Co-experience had a noteworthy mediating effect on the relationship between the interactivity of Live Commerce's characteristics and the consumers' purchase intention. This study confirmed the important role of Live Commerce's characteristics, the Wanghong's characteristics and Co-experience in relation to the consumers' purchase intention. In addition, the Wanghong's characteristics and Co-experience were proposed as a significant mediating factors.

Global Development Strategy of Korean Marine (Leisure) Sports Industry Using SWOT / AHP Method

  • Purpose - Identify the priorities of important factors through SWOT/AHP analysis method for vitalization of global marine sports in Korea. Through this, we will identify prerequisites and strategies for Korean marine sports to become a global powerhouse, including revitalizing the Korean Wave for Chinese consumers. It also revitalizes global competitiveness and draws policy implications. Research design and methodology - Through interviews with experts and literature data, elements of important opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of marine sports are summarized. Based on this SWOT, the AHP technique is applied to determine which is first and what is important between the factors that save opportunities and increase strengths, and measures to cope with threats and factors that complement weaknesses. Through this, the priority factor of experts suggests a plan for activating strategic marine sports. Results - First, the current status of marine sports in Korea and the perception of consumers are grasped through current data and literature research. Sub-elements are derived based on the theoretical literature on SWOT elements and opinions of experts. Prioritization is identified based on the AHP questionnaire of Korean experts. Conclusions - The strategy was derived through SWOT/AHP analysis, and the following implications were obtained. Regionally, Busan is psychologically and geographically adjacent to China and Japan. It is also an area where human exchanges are actively taking place along with the volume of imports and exports. Due to the increase in China's marine sports industry and population, it is necessary to expand the scope of Korea to marine sports beyond cosmetics, dramas, movies, and Korean waves (Hallyu) stars.

A Study on Changes in China's Distribution Market and Firms' Response Strategies

  • Purpose - This study investigated the development process of the Chinese distribution industry and analyzed the current status of China's offline and online distribution industries under the development process of the Chinese distribution industry. In addition, the current status of offline distributors in China and representative companies were analyzed as case studies. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the overall environment of the Chinese distribution industry by using literature data. Then, this study conducted a case analysis using RT Mart and Jingdong, major companies in the distribution industry. Result -The main research results of this study show that the Chinese distribution market has already matured, and retailers are fiercely competing to secure sales and operating profits through various methods such as finding new management methods, improving awareness and customer loyalty by expanding the number of stores. Conclusion -Recently, the characteristic of China's distribution industry is that the boundaries of distribution are breaking down. Chinese retailers are taking strategies to expand the scope of services by erasing the boundaries of distribution. In other words, distribution companies are promoting a borderless distribution strategy in which consumers purchase products online and offline without restrictions on time and space. In addition, small stores in residential areas are on the rise compared to large-scale stores in the city center. The existing distribution industry operates various types of distribution stores to prepare for the post-COVID-19 crisis.

The Role of Perceived Quality in New Product Adoption Process in China

  • This study investigate the role of consumer's perception of quality in new technology adoption process in China which is given little attention in the field of Information System and Communication Technology. Here, we developed a simple model in the level of consumer perception by exploring the antecedent of perceived quality. Three factors are introduced as determinants of perceived quality: perceived usefulness, perceived risk and trialability. An empirical study is conducted with analysis of the adoption mechanism of a new innovative product. Data analysis results support some of our proposed hypotheses. It indicates that perceived quality is positively related to the adoption intention and fully mediates the relationship between triablility and purchase intention. And we conclude that a product's perceived quality plays an important role in adoption intention. And what makes Chinese customers perceive product's quality good is a trialability of a product. This suggests that when market managers plan to launch products in China, they need to craft an effective strategy based on the market system of the consumer especially understanding the consumers' critical factor for adopting a new product. Chinese are more interested to purchase a product with free trial and free experiential period, therefore, suggesting an advertisement highlighting the trialability of a product is possible in China.
