본 논문에서는 트랜잭션 기반의 데이터 관리 및 검색 기능을 갖춘 정보 관리 시스템인 KRISTAL-2000을 간략하게 소개하고, JAVA를 구현언어로 하는 사용자가 해당 시스템의 기능을 원활하게 사용할 수 있도록 하기 위한 JAVA 기반의 KRISTAL-2000 사용자 API 선계를 목표로 한다. 이때 사용자와 시스템간의 연결은 텍스트 기반의 소켓 통신을 전제로 한다.

정보의 홍수 속에서 콘텐츠를 효과적으로 관리하는 것은 어려운 문제이다. 하지만 효율적인 관리와 서비스를 위해서는 관리체계를 구조화하고 표준화하는 것이 반드시 필요하며, 이형적 이질적인 콘텐츠 간의 상호연계 문제도 추가적으로 해결해야 할 문제이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 다양하게 입수되는 콘텐츠 입수방식을 단일화하고, 이를 기초로 하여 각 콘텐츠 별 관리 프로세스를 표준화하였다. 이를 통해 서로 다른 형태의 콘텐츠에 대한 상호운용성을 유지할 수 있게 되었다.

그리드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 세계의 많은 과학기술연구자들은 gLite 미들웨어 기반의 어플리케이션을 이용하고 있다. 미들웨어에서 데이터를 관리, 분석하기 위해서는 메타데이터 카탈로그 서비스를 이용하고 있으며, 유닉스, 그리드, 데이터베이스 환경에 익숙하지 않은 과학기술연구자들은 이 서비스를 이용하는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 논문은 과학기술연구자로 하여금 gLite의 공식 컴포넌트인 메타데이터 카탈로그 서비스 이용 시 접근 제약을 최소화하고 사용자 친화적인 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 메타데이터 카탈로그 GUI 툴 설계에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

ISO international quality management system plays an important role in many organizations. It has been a basis to build quality management system in organizations to meet customer's need. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(hereinafter KISTI) is first ISO registered organization in field of scientific and technological information service in Korea. But many foreign organizations have been registered to ISO or have other quality management system in same field. We can find some issues from the result of KISTI's ISO 9001:2000 quality management system registration.
