The purpose of this study was to review housework research studies in the Journal of Korean Home Economics Association, the Journal of Korean Home Management Association and the Journal of Korean Family Resource Management Association. For this purpose, 109 housework research studies were analyzed according to the themes, published years, the subjects and the research methods. The major findings of this study were as follows. The research on the evaluation of the value of housework was the theme most frequently studied, followed by research on the socialization of housework, housework time, the attitudes on and satisfaction with housework, and the division of housework, in that order. During the periods of 1990-2000 years, housework studies had increased, but since then have slowly decreased. The majority of respondents to housework studies were married women. With respect to employment status of the subjects, both employed and unemployed people were sampled in half of the studies. The sample size was over 300 in almost half of the research reviewed. The most frequently used research method was the surveys using questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were the statistical methods used most frequently.
Korea has entered into the Post Catching-up era and the necessity of new innovation strategy in response is being raised. This study argues the necessity of new innovation strategy and discusses the issue of co-ordination between R&D and Human Resource for that as the key factor. From empirical analysis, there seems to be restricted inflow of outstanding human resources to manufacturing sectors and lowering effectiveness of major even with the improved compatibility between major and job. Especially, it is severe in the industries with high R&D investment. It can be interpreted as an incoordination of the technological innovation efforts from the aspect of R&D investment with human resource utilization from the aspect of new human resource. The analytical result and interpretation suggests that there should be more active improvement on the co-ordination between innovative manufacturers' efforts and human resource utilization, in order to keep sustainable development.
While there is universal agreement that the ecosystems approach to family resource management is the must influential currently, questions have arisen about the broad applicability of the Deacon & Firebaugh (1988) ecosystems framework. Engberg (1996) has characterized the dominant approach in family resource management as technical and argued that a technical approach substantially restricts feasible actions in much of the world and should not be used in ethical practice. The purpose of the present paper is to compare the family resource management patterns by dual role manager of business owning families in Korea and The United States. Such a comparison is an essential step in the assessment of the usefulness of the Deacon & Firebaugh framework, in particular, and the ecosystems framework, more generally. Korean respondents are 105 family and business managers interviewed in 2000 as part of a survey of owners of small to medium size family business enterprises in Seoul. U.S. respondents are 259 dual role managers in the National Family Business Survey (NFBS 1997). Chi squared statistics indicated country differences on each of the ten(goal setting, standard setting, demand clarification, resource assessment, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource change)management practices. Mean responses on eight of the practices(goal setting, standard setting, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource changes) were significantly different between two countries. U.S. total score means of family resource management were higher than Korea. Factor analysis of the management scale items yielded different patterns for Korea, and the United States. Korean dual role manager of family business were categorized into three different patterns as classic oriented manager, goal oriented manager, action oriented manager and U.S. were categorized into Process oriented manager and Production oriented manager. Both the number of managerial strategies and the types of strategies used varied in the two countries.
RI-Biomics field comes into the limelight as a new fusion radiation technology. These rapid development of RI-Biomics cause the necessity of establishment of a new methodical education program model for consistent training of professional manpower in RI-ADME, Biomics field. But domestic current status is not satisfied to training human resource development in RI-Biomics. Actually domestic educational organization related to RI-Biomics just run educational programs oriented basic theory, so practical and fusion education are not existed nowadays for preliminary RI-Biomics expert. Therefore we established a new education program model for educate of the expert in RI-Biomics field to overcome current problem about the route of knowledge that has more monotonous and concentrated tendency and non-professional education. To improve universality and practicality, we conduct education-training model survey about domestic and foreign country. This new human resource development model will contribute to fostering new expert in RI-Biomics field.
In this study, we investigate the relationships among organizational market orientation, learning orientation, information technology(IT) support for firm resource, IT support for strategy, and balanced scorecard(BSC) performance in export firms. The development of the research model is based on the empirical studies of strategy and resource-based view. The data from the survey was analyzed using Partial Least Squares(PLS). The results from the empirical model suggest that IT support for firm resource is effected by market orientation and learning orientation. And, IT support for strategy is enhanced by IT support for firm resource. Finally, BSC performance of export firms is effected by IT support for strategy.
Purpose This study develops a heuristic algorithm to solve the time-resource tradeoffs in project scheduling problems with a real basis. Design/methodology/approach Resource constrained project scheduling problem with time-resource tradeoff is well-known as one of the NP-hard problems. Previous researchers have proposed heuristic that minimize Makespan of project scheduling by deriving optimal combinations from finite combinations of time and resource. We studied to solve project scheduling problems by deriving optimal values from infinite combinations. Findings We developed heuristic algorithm named Push Algorithm that derives optimal combinations from infinite combinations of time and resources. Developed heuristic algorithm based on simulated annealing shows better improved results than genetic algorithm and further research suggestion was discussed as a project scheduling problem with multiple resources of real numbers.
Existing improvement measures for resource management are merely concentrating on the document automation only. In addition, such improvements rarely benefit metal millwork management. Following the trend of constructing high rise and multi-complex buildings, the importance of resource management from the aspect of construction project management is being emphasized. Metal work resources are critical most of construction projects, it became a target for special management. Therefore, the study has determined work process of metal work resource management, for the metal millwork is one of the most important construction materials most of construction projects, and proposed a web based module for improving the management task.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the present workfamily balance policy and suggest a vision for moving forward. First, this study identified the scope of the workfamily balance policy and assessed the importance of this policy in relation to other family-related policies. Second, we evaluated the workfamily balance policy from the perspective of family resource management. Third, we suggested orientations and strategies for better policymaking from this same viewpoint.
