This paper presents a facial expression control method of 3D avatar that enables the user to select a sequence of facial frames from the facial expression space, whose level of details the user can select hierarchically. Our system creates the facial expression spare from about 2,400 captured facial frames. But because there are too many facial expressions to select from, the user faces difficulty in navigating the space. So, we visualize the space hierarchically. To partition the space into a hierarchy of subspaces, we use fuzzy clustering. In the beginning, the system creates about 11 clusters from the space of 2,400 facial expressions. The cluster centers are displayed on 2D screen and are used as candidate key frames for key frame animation. When the user zooms in (zoom is discrete), it means that the user wants to see mort details. So, the system creates more clusters for the new level of zoom-in. Every time the level of zoom-in increases, the system doubles the number of clusters. The user selects new key frames along the navigation path of the previous level. At the maximum zoom-in, the user completes facial expression control specification. At the maximum, the user can go back to previous level by zooming out, and update the navigation path. We let users use the system to control facial expression of 3D avatar, and evaluate the system based on the results.
For the development of combustion technology of RDF(refuse derived fuel), combustion characteristics are examined in bubbling fluidized bed, circulating fluidized bed, continuos combustor and batch type combustor. The characteristics of combustion and exhaust gas has been compared and analyzed in many type of combustion facilities, which has been utilized as basic data for the advanced research of specified RDF combustion facility. Stable combustion has been observed in bubbling and circulating fluidized bed from controled operating condition like the proper feeding rate and superficial gas velocity. In circulating fluidized bed, concentration of NOx has been increased with the operating condition by the fuel-NO and oxygen reaction and $SO_2$ can be considered not to be produced in RDF fluidized bed from very low concentration in flue gas. HCl concentration is 36.4 ppm as average value and lower than standard emission value, but the counter plan is needed. Shaped RDF and fluff RDF have been compared in continuos combustor and batch type combustor and shaped RDF shows benefit for the stable heat recovery and gas emission shows similar value and characteristics.
This study was carried out for the purpose of recovering the refined gypsum from waste phosphogypsum. The refined gypsum was recovered as a under product of 325 mesh wet screening followed by dehydration and hydration stage. The influence of dehydration temperature and time, dehydration rate, aging time, slurry density of hydration and sonication time on the yield and grade of gypsum were investigated. The refined gypsum of $94{\sim}96%$ grade is recovered in 95% yield by wet screening after selective dehydration and hydration process, from the phosphogypsum. For the better separation efficiency of gypsum, it is recommended to treat the phosphogypsum at the conditions of as follows; 6hr's dehydration at $140^{\circ}C$, hydration slury density of $3{\sim}10%$, hydration temperature of $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$, hydration time of 2hr. In additions, addition of sodium citrate 0.005M and sonication of $5{\sim}10min.$ are effective for increase the recovery of gypsum. On the other hand, aging the dehydrated gypsum 16 hours or longer make decrease the recovery of gypsum remarkably.
Continuous column adsorption experiments have been conducted fur artificial and actual wastewater which containing $Ni^{2+}$ by using manganese nodule as an adsorbent for the purpose of wastewater treatment along with an increased $Ni^{2+}$ recovery in the refining of manganese nodule. The adsorption features of $Ni^{2+}$ artificial wastewater were examined by taking the height of fixed bed, influent flow rate, and the initial concentration of adsorbate as the influential parameters. The adsorption capacity of manganese nodule and the rate constant for $Ni^{2+}$ adsorption were estimated employing Bohart-Adams equation. In addition, the variation of the adsorbed amount of adsorbate for each column according to the influent flow rate and the initial concentration of adsorbate was investigated based on the breakthrough curves fur each column. For serially connected columns, the adsorbed amount of $Ni^{2+}$ for each column was observed to increase gradually as the adsorption proceeded from the initial column to the final column. The variation of the breakthrough curve for actual wastewater with the height of fixed bed was not so significant as that for artificial wastewater, which was considered to be due to the high concentration of $Ni^{2+}$ in actual wastewater. Regarding the effect of the particle size of manganese nodule on adsorption, the adsorbed amount of adsorbate was found to somewhat increase as the particle size became smaller.
This experiment was carried out to examine the effects of morphology on properties of La-Co substituted SrM ferrite. The magnetic properties of calcined and sintered materials were varried with the substitutional amount of La and Co elements in Sr-ferrite. In the substituted SrM ferrite, the atomic fraction x of La is directly related to the mole ratio n of iron oxide and the atomic fraction y of Co by equation x=2ny. The Hcj values of the calcined powder were about 270 kA/m and 240 kA/m with x=0.3 and x=0.2, respectively at stoichiometry, n=6.0. Crystallites of the sintered material were grown with a plate shape, and their size decreased with increasing mole ratios. Such a shape was caused by the initial state of crystallite formed after calcination. In case of x=0.3 and n=6.0, Br was 415 mT and Hcj was 355 kA/m, and in x=0.2 and n=6.0, Br was 410 mT and Hcj was 370 kA/m. The squareness in 2nd quarter of BH curve with x=0.2 was smoothly improved to compared with x=0.3.
Although Korea is a top market sharing and world leading producer and developer of flat panel display devices, relevant recycling technology is not up to her prestigious status. Besides, most of the waste glass arising from flat panel displays is currently land-filled. The present paper mainly reviews on development of recycling systems for waste TFT-LCD glass from end-of-life LCD TVs and monitors and TFT-LCD process waste of crushed glass particles with target end uses of raw material for high strength concrete pile and glass fibers, respectively. Waste LCD glass was recycled to fabricate ingredients for high strength concrete piles with enhanced physical properties and spherical foam products. The waste LCD glass recycling technology is already developed to fabricate long and short fibers at commercial level. In view of these, future R & D on waste LCD glass materials is to be directed toward implementation of commercial materials recycling system therefrom.
As a recovery of elemental silicon from the sludge of Si wafer process, a process of mechanical separation-chlorine roasting-electrolysis has been suggested. The silicon sludge consisted of Si, SiC, machine oil, and metallic impurities. The oil and metal impurities was removed by mechanical separation. The Si-SiC mixture was converted to silicon chloride by chlorine roasting at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr and the silicon chloride was dissolved into an ionic liquid of $[Bmpy]Tf_2N$ as an electrolyte. Cyclic voltammetry results showed an wide voltage window of pure $[Bmpy]Tf_2N$ and a reduction peak of elemental Si from $[Bmpy]Tf_2N$ dissolved $SiCl_4$ on Au electrode, respectively. The silicon deposits could be prepared on the Au electrode by the potentiostatic electrolysis of -1.9 V vs. Pt-QRE. The elemental silicon uniformly electrodeposited was confirmed by various analytical techniques including XRD, FE-SEM with EDS, and XPS. Any impurity was not detected except trace oxygen contaminated during handling for analysis.
The purpose of this study is to confirm the possibility of obtaining high grade coal from fixed carbon 20.68% coal. Also, the mineralogical, physical/chemical and liberation characteristics was found with the aim of decrease in ash amount, during the pre-processing of clean coal technology. Zirconium is one of the most important material used as cladding of fuel rods in nuclear reactors because of its high dimensional stability, good corrosion resistance and especially low neutron-absorbing cross section. However, Hf free nuclear grade Zr sponge is commercially produced by only three countries including USA, France and Russia. So, Zr has been thoroughly managed as a national strategic material in Korea. Most of the zirconium is used for Korean nuclear industry as nuclear fuel cladding materials manufactured from Hf free Zr alloy raw material. Also, there are some other applications such as alloying element and detonator. In this review, zirconium production and recycling technologies have been reviewed and current industrial status was also analyzed. And recent achievements in innovative reduction technologies such as electrolytic reduction process and molten oxide electrolysis were also introduced.
Recycling process of iron should be developed for efficient recovery of neodymium (Nd), rare metal, from acid-leaching solution of Nd magnet. In this study, $FeCl_3$ solution as iron source was used for preparation of iron nano particles with the condition of various factors, such as, reductant, and surfactant. $Na_4P_2O_7$ and Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as surfactants, $NaBH_4$ as reductant, and palladium chloride ($PdCl_2$) as a nucleation seed were used. Iron powder was analyzed by using XRD, SEM for measuring shape and size. Iron nano particles were prepared at the ratio of 1:5 (Fe (III) : $NaBH_4$). Size and shape of iron particles were round-form and 50 ~ 100 nm size. Zeta-potential of iron at the 100 mg/L of $Na_4P_2O_7$ was negative value, which was good for dispersion of metal particle. When $Na_4P_2O_7$ (100 mg/L), PVP($FeCl_3:PVP$ = 1 : 4, w/w) and Pd($FeCl_3:PdCl_2$ = 1 : 0.001, w/w) were used, iron nano particles which were round-shape, well-dispersed and near 100 nm-sized range. In this condition, $FeCl_3$ solution changed with spent Nd leachate solution, and then it is possible to be made round-formed iron nano particles at pH 9 and at the reaction bath over 20 L which is not include any surfactant.
