여대생에서의 월경전기증후군 및 월경전불쾌장애의 특성 (Characteristics of PMS and PMDD in Female College Students)

  • 연구목적 : Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool(PSST)를 통해서, DSM-IV상의 월경전불쾌장애(premenstrual dysphoric disorder, PMDD)에 대한 진단기준을 사용하여 월경전기증후군(premenstrual syndrome, PMS) 및 PMDD의 빈도, 기능장애, 위험인자들, 월경에 대한 태도, PMS 및 PMDD의 발현 양상 들을 조사하여 보았다. 방 법 : 서울 및 수도권의 중소도시인 수원에 소재하는 대학교에 다니는 여학생들을 대상으로 하여 월경에의 태도 질문지, PSST를 사용한 단면 조사연구를 시행하였다. 결 과 : 총 1410명에게 질문지가 배부되었으며, 그 중 1063부에 대하여 분석하였다. 응답자들은 PSST의 결과에 따라 3군[정상/경도 PMS군(n=759, 71.4%), 심한 PMS군(n=180, 16.9%), PMDD군(n=124, 11.7%)]으로 분류하였다. 각 군별로는 기본적인 역학적 변수 및 위험 인자(음주, 커피 소비, 월경통의 강도, PMS의 가족력)들의 분포에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 응답자들을 또한 월경에 대한 태도에 따라 3군으로 구분하였다[긍정적 태도군(n=168), 부정적 태도군(n=122), 양가적 태도군(n=773)]. 심각한 월경전기 증상들을 호소하는 이들의 비율은 이 3가지 태도군 간에 유의한 차이가 있어서, 부정적 태도군은 다른 군들에 비해 더 많은 월경전기 증상들을 보고하였다. 결 론 : PMS와 PMDD는 한국의 젊은 여성들에서 널리 발견된다. 일부 응답자들은 그들이 PMDD에 대한 DSM-IV의 진단기준을 완전히 충족시키지 못하였음에도 유의한 기능손상을 보고하였다. 일반적으로, 월경에 대한 부정적인 태도는 더 많은 월경전기 증상들의 경험과 관련이 있었다.

한국형 포장관리시스템을 활용한 장수명 아스팔트 포장의 경제성 분석 (Economic Analysis of Long-life Asphalt Pavements using KoPMS)

  • PURPOSES : Long-life asphalt pavements are used widely in developed countries. In order to be able to devise an effective maintenance strategy for such pavements, in this study, we evaluated the performance of the long-life asphalt pavements constructed along the national highways in South Korea. Further, an economic evaluation of the long-life asphalt pavements was performed based on a life-cycle cost analysis. We aimed to devise a model for evaluating the performance of long-life asphalt pavements using the national highway pavement management system (PMS) database as well as for analyzing the economic feasibility of such pavements, in order to promote their use in South Korea. METHODS : The maintenance history and pavement performance data were obtained from the national highway PMS database. The pavement performances for a total of 292 sections of 10 lanes (5 northbound lanes and 5 eastbound lanes) of national highways were used in this study. Models to predict the performances of hot mix asphalt (HMA) and long-life asphalt pavements under two distinct traffic conditions were developed using a simple regression method. Further, the economic feasibility of long-life asphalt pavements was evaluated using the Korea Pavement Management System (KoPMS). RESULTS : We developed service-life prediction models based on the traffic volume and the equivalent of single-axle load and found that long-life asphalt pavements have service lives 50% longer than those of HMA pavements. Further, the results of the economic analysis showed that long-life asphalt pavements are superior in terms of various economic indexes, including user cost, delay cost, total cost, and user benefits, even though their maintenance cost is higher than that of HMA pavements. A comparison of the economic feasibilities of the various groups showed that group A is superior to HMA pavements in all aspects except in terms of the maintenance criterion (crack 20% or higher) as per the NPV index. However, the long-life asphalt pavements in group B were superior in terms of the maintenance criterion (crack 25% or higher) regardless of the economic feasibility. CONCLUSIONS : The service life of long-life asphalt pavements was found to be approximately 50% longer than that of HMA pavements, regardless of the traffic volume characteristics. The economic feasibility of long-life asphalt pavements was evaluated based on the KoPMS. The results of the economic analysis were the following: long-life asphalt pavements are exceptional in terms of almost all factors, such as user cost, delay cost, total cost, and user benefit; however, the exception is the maintenance cost. Further, the economic feasibility of the long-life asphalt pavements in group B was found to be better than that of the HMA pavements (crack 25% or higher).

국도포장 유지보수 공법 및 시기에 따른 편익산정 방안 (Methodology for Benefit Evaluation according to Maintenance Method and Timing of National Highway Pavement Section)

  • PURPOSES : This study aims at proposing the methodology for benefit evaluations in pavement maintenance methods and timings using KoPMS(Korean Pavement Management System) software which was developed for efficient pavement management. METHODS : This study classified pavement sections into 4 clusters considering AADT(Annual Average Daily Traffic) and ESAL(Equivalent Single-Axle Load) using cluster analysis and used the deterioration models in each cluster. Increased user costs due to pavement deterioration as time goes by and agent costs for maintenance were estimated. Based on deterioration model and KoPMS software, Methodology for benefit evaluation was proposed in pavement maintenance methods and with/without implementation using real pavement section data. RESULTS : This study verified that considering agent costs only would be constrained to decide pavement maintenance methods and timings, and ascertained that decision making with agent and user costs would be effective. In addition, this study revealed that pavement maintenance methods and timings can be affected by AADT and ESAL and frequent pavement maintenances can be more efficient for benefits in pavement sections with more AADT and ESAL. Also this study found that user costs would be more affected to decision making than agent costs. Moreover, Delay of conducting pavement maintenance caused increased vehicle operating costs and environmental costs because of poor conditions of pavements. CONCLUSIONS : This study proposed LCCA and benefit estimation methodology of pavement with considering agent and user costs. The results of this study can be used for baseline data of efficient pavement asset management.

  • 1, 3-Di(dodecanoyl)-2, 7-dioxy-6, 8-di(2-hydroxyethyl)-1, 3, 6, 8-tetraazacyclodecane(DDDT) and pentaerythritol monostearate(PMS) were synthesized as a main component for softner. O/W type softner(DPSA) was prepared by blending DDDT and PMS with polyoxyethylene(10) castor oil, polyoxyethylene(20) oleyl ether, and polyoxyethylene(10) monolaurate. After treatment of DPSA to all cotton fabrics, the physical properties such as tear strength, crease recovery, and flexing abrasion resistance were measured. As a result of the measurement, DPSA was proved to be durable softner with good softness.

여고생에서 월경전 증후군의 빈도와 임상적 특징 및 관련요인 (Frequency, Clinical Characteristics and Correlates of Premenstrual Syndrome in High School Students)

  • 연구목적 여고생에서 월경전 증후군/월경전 불쾌장애의 빈도와 임상적 특징을 조사하고, 다양한 사회인구학적 요인과 월경 관련 요인이 월경전 증후군/월경전 불쾌장애에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 방 법 서울시내에 위치한 5개 여자고등학교 학생 1,688명을 대상으로, 월경전 증상, 우울, 불안 척도 및 사회인구학적, 월경 관련 문항이 포함된 자기기입식 설문조사를 시행하였다. Premenstrual Symptom Screening Tool(PSST)를 기준으로 대상자를 3군으로 분류하여 월경전 증후군/월경전 불쾌장애의 빈도와 임상적 특징을 분석하였으며, 다변량 로지스틱 회귀분석을 시행하여 관련요인을 파악하였다. 결 과 Moderate to Severe PMS와 PMDD의 빈도는 각각 20.1%와 6.4%였다. 월경전 증상 중 과민성(78.8%), 피로감(76.4%), 감정기복(69.8%)의 빈도가 높았으며, 학업 수행(67.1%)영역에서 기능의 장애가 두드러졌다. 우울, 불안 수준을 보정한 분석에서 생리통[odd ratio(OR)=3.68, 95% confidence interval(CI) 2.45-5.55], 월경전 증후군의 가족력(OR=1.91, 95% CI 1.35-2.71) 및 경구 피임약 복용 경험(OR=1.85, 95% CI 1.16-2.94)이 있을 경우 월경전 증후군/월경전 불쾌장애의 비교위험도가 유의하게 높았다. 또한, 우울, 불안 증상이 없는 대상군에서는 월경에 대한 부정적인 태도(OR=15.60, 95% CI 3.61-67.42)가 월경전 증후군/월경전 불쾌장애의 위험도를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 결 론 여고생에서 월경전 불쾌장애를 포함한 중등도 이상의 월경전 증후군의 빈도가 25%가 넘을 정도로 상당히 높고 이로 인한 기능의 장애 역시 심하였다. 월경전 증후군은 다양한 사회인구학적 요인 및 월경 관련 요인과 관련되어 있으며, 이러한 관계는 우울, 불안 증상의 공존이환 여부에 크게 영향을 받는다.

월경전증후군에 대한 한약 치료의 효과 : 체계적 문헌 고찰과 메타 분석 (Herbal Medicine for Premenstrual Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis)

  • Objectives: This study reports the findings that support the efficacy of herbal medicine (HM) for premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Methods: We conducted meta-analysis of findings from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for PMS treated with HM. The articles were published before July 2022, located using 9 databases (Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, CNKI, CiNii, SCIENCE ON, KoreaMed, OASIS). Results: We observed 2,034 studies, of which 23 RCTs met our inclusion criteria. The risk of bias in the included studies was relatively unclear or high. Meta-analysis of 3 RCTs showed that HM group had a significantly higher total effective rate than the western medicine group (RR 1.20 [95% CI 1.06, 1.36, p=0.004]). Meta-analysis of 1 RCT showed that HM group had a significantly lower symptom score (MD -3.04 [95% CI -5.36, -0.72, p=0.01]), while there was no significant difference in daily record of severity of problems scale (MD -20.52 [95% CI -49.33, 8.29, p=0.16]). Conclusions: HM significantly improved PMS symptoms than general treatment and no serious adverse events were reported. However, the evidence on the effectiveness and safety of HM for PMS was not enough to provide reliable results due to the small number and low quality of included studies. We believe that rigorous RCTs will lead to more reliable evidence of the intervention.

  • This paper deals with experimental verifications and the electromagnetic characteristics analysis of multi-pole permanent magnet (PM) generator for small-scaled wind power system. Field distribution due to PMs and winding current, cogging torque considering skew effect are analyzed. In addition, using the equivalent circuit method and dynamic d-q method, generating performance analysis is performed. Analysis results are validated by comparison with nonlinear finite element analyses and experimental results.

고정오염원의 응축성 먼지 배출량을 고려한 서울과 인천의 먼지 관리방안 (PM Management Methods Considering Condensable PM Emissions from Stationary Sources in Seoul and Incheon)

  • In this study, the new particulate matter emissions considering condensable PM (CPM) of stationary pollutant sources were calculated to modify the CAPSS emissions based on only filterable PMs in Seoul and Incheon. When the new calculated emissions were compared to the existing filterable PM based emissions of local governments, different contribution patterns of emission sources were found. For example, the proportion of mobile sources was high when the filterable PM was considered; however, the contribution of non-industrial sources was dominant in Seoul when the emissions of CPM were considered. Also, the proportion of energy industrial combustion and manufacturing combustion sources was significant in Incheon when CPM emissions considered. Therefore, it seems to be much desirable to consider CPM emissions for determining adequate locations of collective energy facilities and manufacturing combustion facilities in the future. In addition, CPM should be considered to solve the dust problem nationwide. The emission analysis, diagnosis, prediction and countermeasures using CPM emissions should be appropriately performed.

Rhus Verniciflua Stokes Extract Suppresses Expression of Metalloproteinases, iNOS and COX-2 in THP-1 Cells Via Inhibiting NF-𝜅B and MAPK Phosphorylation

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the mechanisms involved in the anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects of Rhus verniciflua Stokes (RVS) on PMA-differentiated human monocytic leukemia THP-1 cells. Methods: Cells were treated with various concentrations of RVS decoction (0-300㎍/ml) for 24, 48, and 72h. Cell viability was evaluated by MTS/PMS assay. The expressions of MMP-2, MMP-9, TIMP-1, TIMP-2, iNOS and COX-2 mRNA and proteins were measured using RT-PCR and western blotting, respectively. Results: RVS suppressed expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA. It also down-regulated iNOS and COX-2 mRNA and protein expression. RVS inhibited NF-𝜅B p65 activity and the phosphorylation of Akt and MAPK (ERK and p38 MAPK). Instead, the phosphorylation of JNK is increased at a very low concentration but decreased at higher concentrations. Conclusion: RVS is regarded to inhibit the expression of MMP and TIMP as well as iNOS and COX-2 gene expression via directly inhibiting the activation of NF-𝜅B and phosphorylation of MAPK pathway in THP-1 cells. This suggests RVS have potential to be used as a therapeutic agent for acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

육계 사료 내 매실 및 오미자 첨가가 성장, 혈액 생화학 성분 및 항산화 작용에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Supplementation of Plum or Omija on Growth Performance, Blood Biochemical Profiles and Antioxidant Defense System in Broiler Chickens)

  • 본 연구는 매실과 오미자 분말을 첨가한 사료를 급여하여 육계의 성장과 사료 효율, 소화 장기 무게, 혈액 성상 및 체내 항산화 방어 작용에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하기 위하여 실시되었다. 실험 설계로서 3일령 육계 96수를 각 처리구당 32수씩(n=8) 대조구(CON), 매실 0.2%(PMS) 및 오미자 0.2%(SCB) 등 3 처리구에 완전임의 배치하여 35일령까지 사양시험을 실시하였다 전 시험기간(3~35일령)의 체중, 증체량, 사료 섭취량 및 사료 요구율은 천연물 첨가에 따른 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 간, 소장, 췌장 등과 같은 소화기관 무게 역시 매실과 오미자 첨가에 따른 영향을 받지 않았다. 혈액 생화학 성상을 살펴보면 오미자 첨가구는 대조구보다 triglyceride 수준이 유의적으로 증가되었지만(P<0.05), glucose, total protein, cholesterol, HDLC, LDLC등과 같은 성분은 유의적 변화가 없었다. 또한 오미자 첨가구가 매실 첨가구에 비해 유의적으로 혈중 glucose 함량이 증가하였다(P<0.05). 항산화 방어 작용에 대한 지표를 분석한 결과, in vitro에서 매실 및 오미자는 높은 항산화 소거능(RSA)을 보였으며, 특히 오미자 추출물에서 더욱 높게 나타났다. 또한 간 또는 근육 조직의 GSH 함량은 오미자 및 매실 첨가구가 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 증가되었다(P<0.05). 그러나 소장점막세포, 간 및 근육에서 SOD, GPX 및 GST와 같은 항산화 효소의 활성도 및 지질과산화도(MDA)는 처리구간에 차이가 없었다. 결론적으로 0.2% 수준의 매실 및 오미자분말의 급여는 육계의 사양성적 및 장기무게에 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 이들 물질은 체 조직에서 항산화력을 증가시키므로 육계 사료 내 천연 항산화소재로서 이용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.
