  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of clinical research on 'mild and sub-clinical depressions' in China. Method : The journal search was performed using China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI). Our inclusion criteria were as follows: TCM clinical trials for mild, sub-clinical, early stage of depression. Exclusion criteria were the following: non-TCM clinical trials, disease-associated depression related clinical trials. Results : We included 16 papers in this study. 1. In this study, we realized there have been several mild and sub-clinical depressions related clinical trials conducted in the field of TCM. 2. The result of 10 Journals used the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale for diagnosis and assessment criteria of mild and sub-clinical depressions. 3. The selected journals categorized by various interventions, such as, herbal medicine(7), acupuncture(4), miscellaneous(5). 4. Also, 7 Journals showed the significant improvements in patients with mild and sub-clinical depressions by TCM interventions, and 5 studies of TCM patent prescription reported that herbal medicine therapy has less side effect than the western medicine. Conclusion : Through this study, we found out that several researchers in China performed clinical trials on mild and sub-clinical depressions constantly. From the result of this study, we need to concern about the necessity of research on the mild and sub-clinical depression in Korea. Therefore, this result could be used as a meaningful reference for the design of future clinical trials.

  • The relationship between geographical proximity and academics' formal and informal knowledge-transfer activities in the network is analyzed with a mixed research method. With social network analysis as a basis, we have explored the networks between academics and firms in the 16 regions of South Korea. The result shows Seoul and Gyunggi are identified as central nodes, meaning that the academics in other regions tend to collaborate with firms in these regions. An econometric analysis is performed to confirm the localization of knowledge-transfer activities. The intensity of formal channels measured by the number of academic papers is negatively, but significantly associated with the geographical proximity. However, we have not found any significant relationship between the formality of the channels and geographical proximity. Possibly, the regional innovation systems in South Korea are neither big enough nor strong enough to show a localization effect.

  • To find what has an effect on eating habits of 5th year elementary school students, areas and food services are researched. This research is classified into general items, nutrition knowledge, and eating habits of the subjects. Nutrition knowledge is different in each area, scoring 7.09 out of 10. Food Service has an effect on eating habits, scoring 4.69 out of 10. This result shows that the role of parents greatly influences eating habits of elementary school students, not areas and food services, and that food service affects improvement of physical condition and prevention of unbalanced diet. Therefore, education at home and school is required.

  • The number of environment-related technologies has increased remarkably over the past two decades, as has the public's interest in effective resource use and ways to reduce the effects of global warming. Industries that are based on environment-related technologies are thus growing rapidly. Previous studies revealed that externalities derived from the population concentration in urban areas positively affect agglomerations of high-tech industries. Such externalities have been named the "knowledge spillover effect". The purposes of the present paper are to (1) give a thumbnail sketch of the locations of environment-related industries around the world, using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development environment-related patent statistics, and (2) explicate the effects of the Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) and Jacobs externalities, which result from population concentrations in urban areas, on the agglomeration of environment-related industries in Sweden. The analysis revealed that environment-related industries are located chiefly in urban areas across the globe, and that only the MAR externalities influenced positively on the agglomeration of these industries in Sweden.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of weaning behavior on infants' health status. 294 mothers who had infants, aged 4 to 12 months in Seoul, were selected by cluster sampling and answered by the special questionnaires. Result were as follows : 55.1% of mothers had commenced weaning by 3 months of age. Infants eatten commercial weaning food except for infant eatten only home made weaning food were 88.8%. The case that mothers couldn't make weaning food at the home were 56.6% because they didn't know how to cook of weaning food. Cereals were used frequently as infant foods while meat and fish were lesser used. The higher mother's education level had, the higher nutritional knowledge had. Nutritional knowledge was not influenced on selecting the kinds of weaning food. But the higher nutritional knowledge had, the more desirable weaning behavior mother tended to be had. The more desirable weaning behavior mother had, the more infant's health status tended to be improved. Therefore, for the desirable weaning behaviors of mothers and the improvement of infants' health status, nutritional education program including cook method and development of infant food is need.

  • Data mining, which is also referred to as knowledge discovery in database, means a process of nontrivial extraction of implicit, previously unknown and potentially useful information (such as knowledge rules, constraints, regularities) from data in databases. The discovered knowledge can be applied to information management, decision making, and many other applications. In this paper, a new data mining problem, discovering sequential patterns, is proposed which is to find all sequential patterns using sampling method. Recognizing that the quantity of database is growing exponentially and transaction database is frequently updated, sampling method is a fast algorithm reducing time and cost while extracting the trend of customer behavior. This method analyzes the fraction of database but can in general lead to results of a very high degree of accuracy. The relaxation factor, as well as the sample size, can be properly adjusted so as to improve the result accuracy while minimizing the corresponding execution time. The superiority of the proposed algorithm will be shown through analyzing accuracy and efficiency by comparing with Apriori All algorithm.

  • The 21st century is characterized by knowledge-based economy or society. The most important features of this knowledge society are the close relationship between science and technology, and the birth of science-based technologies or industries. Bioindustry which is the core area in this era is a representative science-based industry(SBI). In SBIs including BT(biotechnology) and ICT(information and communication technology), the creation of scientific knowledge and the ability to capitalize on that are very important. The United States leadership in research across the spectrum of science and technology is the result of the success in both achieving high level of research and capitalizing on that enabled them to grow. Capitalization is the process that transforms the results of research into practical concrete national benefits. It is such a dynamic process that cant be clearly modeled. In this study, we propose the dynamic capitalization process for innovation of SBIs in terms of the fuel and engine and analyse our potential.
