  • Recently, due to the continuous changes in the business environment and increased competition, enterprises are introducing technology management to increase their value and enhance their competitiveness. In this study, based on the structural equations model, we investigated the effects of the core success factors of knowledge management on job fidelity and organizational performance and the mediating effects of organizational learning. In addition, organizational culture and information technology and process were assumed to be the key factors affecting knowledge management, and organizational learning was represented by experimental learning, indirect learning, and shared learning. As a result, it was found that knowledge management positively affects business fidelity and organizational performance and, even when it is mediated by organizational learning, it positively affects business fidelity and organization performance directly or indirectly. Therefore, we were able to confirm the importance of utilizing knowledge management in companies and to suggest an appropriate application scope for applying knowledge management and organizational learning.

  • Many organizations have applied the traditional Information Strategy Planning methodologies to planning knowledge management. This approach, however, cannot sufficiently realize the strategic value of various kinds of knowledge. To overcome above problems, this research classifies knowledge according to its features and identifies characteristics of each knowledge category. And then, structured Knowledge Strategy Planning methodology, $P^2-KSP$, is proposed. With $P^2-KSP$, an organization can identify organizational knowledge and develop KM architecture from both perspectives of the performance measurement system and business processes.

  • This study was conducted to examine the relationships between nursing students' knowledge on dementia, care performance, and empathy, thus providing the foundation of dementia patient nursing intervention strategies for nursing students. For the analysis to examine the relationships, this study used descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The analysis showed that the higher students' year of study and the higher their interest in dementia (F=5.02, p=.008), the higher their knowledge on dementia (t=-4.03, p<.001), and also that the higher their satisfaction with clinical training (F=3.91, p=.023), the higher their care performance. It was found that nursing students' knowledge on dementia and their care performance (r=.21, p=.023) were positively correlated at a statistically significant level. Based on the results, this study suggests the need to develop and utilize education programs that can help students gain knowledge on dementia prior to clinical training so that they can have more knowledge on dementia and be encouraged to practice caring for patients with dementia.

  • The purpose of the present study is to analyze how and to what degree multinational companies organize and operate their supply chains in accordance with the strategic resource of knowledge in their multinational management, and what kind of influence knowledge oriented global supply chain management has on the management performance of multinational corporations. For this purpose, the current research proposed a measurement model to provide specific shape to the concept of knowledge oriented global supply chain management by adopting the knowledge creation process proposed by Nonaka (1994), and conducted an empirical analysis of what kind of impact the knowledge management system and the knowledge creation process of companies have on the performance of their global supply chain management. The result of the empirical analysis of 113 multinational companies verified the validity and reliability of the measurement model proposed in this study. In addition, the comparative study of the sampled companies by grouping them according to the level of knowledge orientation in global supply chain management indicated that the enterprises that effectively manage the knowledge created within the global supply chain presented overall superiority on the performance of global supply chain management.

  • Knowledge is fundamental asset for firms in the contemporary economy. Organizations are attempting to leverage their knowledge resources by employing knowledge management. However, a large number of KM initiatives fail due to the ignoring of human factors. We adopt theoretical framework and augment it with extrinsic variables, individual, organizational, and systematic factors that are believed to influence knowledge sharing and outcome of travel agency.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop an educational program on nursing records especially focused on legal issues, and to test the effects of the educational program on nurses' knowledge, performance, and behavior. Methods: A textbook on legal issue-focused nursing records and an instrument with 36 items rated on a 5-point scale (1-5) for measuring the nurses' charting-related performance and behavior were developed from November 2007 through March 2008. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed to test the effects of the education program. Knowledge was self-reported by the Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale, while performance and behavior were measured by their nurse managers. The pretest and posttest were conducted from March through May in 2008. A total of 226 Korean nurses participated in this study. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square, paired t-test, Spearman's coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Nurses who received the intervention showed greater levels of knowledge (t=10.28, p<.001), performance (t=2.53, p=.013), and behavior scores (t=3.07, p=.002) than those of the control group. The factors influencing the improvement of knowledge were 'job attitude' (t=-3.32, p=.001) and 'career in present unit' (t=2.95, p=.004). The factor influencing the improvement of performance was 'career in present unit' (t=-3.39, p=.001). The factor influencing the improvement of behavior was 'job attitude' (t=-3.46, p=.001). Conclusion: The educational program on legal issue-focused nursing records was effective in improving nurse charting-related knowledge, performance, and behavior.

  • This study was conducted to assess knowledge, attitude, and performance of dental hygiene students on the hand washing. We surveyed 288 students attending the department of dental hygiene at K Universities and H Universities in Gwangju during the period from September 5 to November 20, 2014. The obtained data were analysed using SPSS version 20.0. According to the general characteristics, the hand washing knowledge of the third year students was highest with 4.72. At the question on the change of awareness after the education of hand washing, the hand washing performance showed that 4.17 for 'yes' was higher than 4.03 for 'no'. There was negatively correlated between knowledge and attitude (r=-0.020, p>0.05). The performance was positively correlated with attitude (r=0.161, p<0.05). There is a need to develop a continuous education program for finding out the right way to hand washing, which is able to enhance knowledge, attitude, and performance on hand washing.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of lifelong learners' learned helplessness and failure tolerance on academic achievement and job performance. The result of this empirical study exhibits that learned helplessness has negative effects on their academic achievement and job performance. Failure tolerance, however, has positive effects on their academic achievement and job performance. In addition, their academic achievement has mediated between learned helplessness and/or failure tolerance, and job performance. This study suggests that lifelong learners' positive response to failures is helpful for both learning and working performances.
