  • The knowledge of the narrative agent not only constitutes the content and meaning of the narrative itself, but is also closely related to the emotional response of the recipient. Also, the disparity of knowledge between narrative agents is an important factor in making a narrative richer and more interesting. But It tends to be treated as a sub-topic of narration theory or genre/style studies rather than an independent subject of narrative studies or criticism. In this paper, I propose a model that can systematically and quantitatively analyze the knowledge of narrative agents. The proposed model consists of the knowledge structure that represents a narrative, the knowledge state that expresses the knowledge of narrative agent as a degree of belief, and the knowledge flow that means changes in the knowledge state according to the development of events. In addition, the formal notation of the knowledge structure and a probabilistic inference model that could obtain the state of knowledge were proposed, and the knowledge structure and knowledge flow were analyzed by applying the model to the actual narrative. It is expected that the proposed model will be of practical help in the creation and evaluation of narratives.

  • The status of small and medium-sized enterprises has been changed into more independent business entities rather than simply subcontractor so that the utilization of specialized knowledge has been much more necessary for the survival in the market. However, small and medium-sized enterprises, it is difficult to sufficient investment in knowledge services due to limited resources relative to large enterprises and demand for knowledge services business of government support is growing. For this reason, it is important to measure accurately the demand for knowledge services of small and medium-sized enterprises in knowledge management for effective utilization of knowledge service. In this study, we analyzed previous studies on small and medium-sized enterprises knowledge services that can be utilized in a comprehensive way. As a result, we developed knowledge service needs assessment model based on five critical success factors for continual growth and 12 types of knowledge service. This model has been modified and supplemented through expert meeting using delphi research method and topic modeling analysis using secondary data. This study is attempted to appropriately measure necessary knowledge services for small and medium-sized enterprises so that generated the evaluation model of knowledge service demands, comprehensively dealing with core knowledge services for many kinds of business entities. It is expected that the developed model will be a useful tool to understand and evaluate knowledge services demands of enterprises.

  • In the knowledge-based society which recognizes knowledge as a core value, knowledge management is one of the most interesting issues. The creation of knowledge within an organization occurs as a result of interactions of tacit and explicit knowledge, in process of knowledge conversion. One useful model of this process is the SECI model which stands for a process of socialization, externalization, combination and internalization of knowledge. The enterprise competitive power depends on how an organization accelerates the speed of the cycle of knowledge creation well. In this paper we introduce a knowledge management promotion system based on SECI model and proposal system to promote the cycle of knowledge creation in production fields, and study an enterprise case.

  • Existing CAD systems have configured geometry data and it is necessary to extend the configured geometry into a knowledge-based system. An intelligent CAD system emerged to provide such a knowledge-based system. However the intelligent CAD system has a limited product model to represent various knowledge models. This paper presents a model, called extended intelligent CAD model, which can extend the product model of the intelligent CAD system into further detailed knowledge model. The extended intelligent CAD model includes a whole design process knowledge and an efficiency of the model has been verified via a knowledge based wiper design system. The model can improve the functionality and efficiency of the existing CAD systems.

  • Knowledge recommendation is a type of recommendation system that recommends knowledge content to users in order to satisfy their needs. Although using graph neural networks to extract data features is an effective method for solving the recommendation problem, there is information loss when modeling real-world problems because an edge in a graph structure can only be associated with two nodes. Because one super-edge in the hypergraph structure can be connected with several nodes and the effectiveness of knowledge graph for knowledge expression, a dual-channel hypergraph convolutional neural network model (DCHC) based on hypergraph structure and knowledge graph is proposed. The model divides user data and knowledge data into user subhypergraph and knowledge subhypergraph, respectively, and extracts user data features by dual-channel hypergraph convolution and knowledge data features by combining with knowledge graph technology, and finally generates recommendation results based on the obtained user embedding and knowledge embedding. The performance of DCHC model is higher than the comparative model under AUC and F1 evaluation indicators, comparative experiments with the baseline also demonstrate the validity of DCHC model.

  • Knowledge is recognized as the most important asset among enterprises. Therefore, the necessity of knowledge management is ever on the increase nowadays. While many people have endeavored to develop knowledge storage, sharing and usage, knowledge creation is not sufficiently investigated for practical application, because knowledge creation is largely related to creativity and difficult to establish a systematic methodology. In order to overcome such problems, the creative knowledge creation model is proposed by using the whole brain theory and creative thinking tools. First of all, the creative knowledge creation model is based on the Nonaka's knowledge creation model integrated with the whole brain theory. The whole brain theory is then used as a standard to organize a whole brain team that is composed of members who have diverse thinking patterns. For creative thinking tools, the mandal-art and the contradiction matrix of TRIZ are used for a knowledge conversion. Each process of the creative knowledge creation model is sequentially suggested and several terms are defined. In order to verify the effectiveness of the creative knowledge creation model, the proposed model is applied to the development of a dishwasher with a new concept. According to the order of the proposed method, the model is applied twice in the cycle of spiral evolution. Three kinds of dish-washing methods have been developed using the proposed model. The results of the application are then analyzed and presented.

  • In order to provide a better understanding about the phenomenon of KM assimilation, this study attempts to conceptually develop and empirically compare two different models: (1) the first model, which considers the KM process as the flow of knowledge that plays an intervening role between knowledge stocks (i.e., knowledge worker, technical knowledge infrastructure, external knowledge linkage, knowledge strategy, and internal knowledge climate) and the level of KM assimilation; and (2) the second model is a simple direct effect formulation without any distinction between knowledge stock and flow. These two models were then tested and compared using the responses of 187 Korean organizations that had already implemented enterprise-wide KM systems. The findings indicate that the two models are useful in explaining successful KM assimilation. However, the first causal model with the distinction between knowledge stock and flow assesses the effectiveness of KM more accurately than the second model without the distinction. Interestingly, the KM process was shown to be the most critical factor for the proliferation of KM activities across an organization. The findings of this study are expected to serve not only as early groundwork for researchers hoping to understand KM and its effective assimilation in organizations, but should also provide practitioners with guidelines as to how they can enhance their KM assimilation level so as to improve their organizational performance.

  • Recently, knowledge management becomes a core management tool for efficient and effective organizations. However, there are little known researches on measuring knowledge management level. The objective of this paper is to develop a process capability model for knowledge management of an organization. We developed 5 stage process capability model for knowledge management. The 1st stage is the initial stage where no significant knowledge management activity is performed. The 2nd stage is the performed stage where planning and tracking activities are performed on organization level. The 3rd stage is the established, and the 4th stage is the predictable stage where processes and results of knowledge management can be predictable. Final stage is the optimizing stage where knowledge management process is continuously improved at an organizational level. We surveyed 37 korean companies to test the validity of the proposed stage model. Statistical tests show that the developed stage model of knowledge management is valid and sound in general conditions. The result of this study on process capability model can be a solid stepping stone for future works in this area.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop and validate an instructional design model from the perspective of the knowledge creation. To serve the purpose, the researcher conducted 1) literature review to find causal relationship model among knowledge creation factors and to propose a hypothetical instructional design model, 2) data analysis with 50 senior level e-Learning instructional designers, and 3) testing the fitness of the proposed model and relevant causal-relational hypotheses. Results indicate; 1) the proposed model fit to the empirical evidence, 2) 6 hypotheses among 11 were validated. A typical instructional designer's personal competency was evidenced as the most powerful independent variable that predicted knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing, and the application of the instructional models. However, the expected effect of instructional design models toward other dependent variable was not be found. In addition, further suggestions for the future research are addressed.

  • Diverse requirements of users on web-based model management force a system agent to develop user-adaptive building a model in reality and providing an adequate solution method of the model. The relationship between models is important knowledge for the agent to effectively build a new model to adaptively adjust an existing model under a problem and to efficiently connect the new model into an adequate solution method. Since the generating process of the inter-model relationship is more difficult than the building a new model however the process mostly depends on the knowledge of operation research experts. Without the adequate scheme of the inter-model relationship the burden of the management for the agent increases rapidly and the quality of the services may worsen. This study shows that meta-knowledge generated from relationship between models is important for the user to build a model in reality and to acquire the solver appropriate to the model. The relationship that consists of common and exclusive objects between models can be represented by frames. The system under development to implement the idea includes user-adaptive ability which identifies a model through forward chaining method and searches the solver appropriate to the model by using the meta knowledge. We illustrate the meta knowledge with an applied delivery system in supply chain management.
