A Study on the Influence of Knowledge Management Strategy and Knowledge Management Decision Factors by Knowledge Management Type on Knowledge Activities (지식경영 유형별 지식경영전략과 지식경영결정요인이 지식활동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines the impact of knowledge management strategies and knowledge management determinants for each type of knowledge management of a company on knowledge activities, and because each company's situation and conditions are different, it is necessary to approach each knowledge management type. The analysis was conducted using the SPSS 18.0 program targeting 81 companies that have introduced knowledge management systems or knowledge management by categorizing them into technology-oriented and combined types. The result is that Initial types are based on changes in organizational structure and active adoption of information technology, and the Organizational knowledge centers use management systems (CEO support, performance compensation system, education and training system) and infrastructure building and information technology to maximize individual knowledge. The Information technology-oriented types rely more on information technology such as infrastructure building and information technology use rather than organizational knowledge. and the Combination type is understood as an educational and training system and decentralized organizational structure for the overall expansion of the organization. Through this study, effective and significant strategies, knowledge management determinants, and knowledge activities for each type were presented.

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of organizational form in the sport organization. This study found that the leader's quality had positive influences on the personality, knowledge ability, and change management. Based on the analysis of three hundred fifty cases, the following results were found. First, the leader's quality and personality had the significant effects on knowledge-Based management in the sports organizations. Second, the leader's knowledge competence and the transformative leadership had the significant effects on knowledge-Based management in the sports organizations. Third, the leader's knowledge :management had the significant effects on organiztional behavior in the sports organizations.

  • The purpose of this study is to review the relationships among the determinants of knowledge management and knowledge management, and it's consequences, and the moderating effects of organizational culture on the relationship between the determinants of Knowledge Management and Knowledge Management, and the relationship between Knowledge Management and it's consequences. In the relationship between Knowledge Management and it's consequences, knowledge acquisition and knowledge transfer are positively related with personal and intra-organizational, and inter-organizational effectiveness.

  • This study examines the determinant influence of competence: motives, traits, self-concept, knowledge, and skills on work behavior and work effectiveness in government officials. The research was conducted on government officials in the province of South Kalimantan, Indonesia. This research is qualitative in nature, including the population of government apparatus in regencies and municipalities in the South Kalimantan province of Indonesia. The number of respondents in this study was 250 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, and Data analysis has been done using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed a significant and positive influence on the determinants of competence, namely motives, traits, self-concept, knowledge, and skills on work behavior and work effectiveness of government officials; the determinant influence of competence showed a direct and indirect effect. This study also shows a mediating effect of work behavior between the determinants of competence (motives, traits, self-concept, knowledge, and skills) on the work effectiveness of government officials. This study's results are expected to provide suggestions to local governments in the South Kalimantan province of Indonesia to conduct performance appraisals for government officials apart from the performance appraisal methods that have been implemented.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of knowledge management on the organizational performance by using structural equation model and to suggest new integrated framework about knowledge management by understanding the determinants of organizational capability to knowledge management in social capital point of view. To serve the purpose of this study, we conducted the extensive survey on 256 Korean companies in diverse industries including the manufacturing. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study, we identified that knowledge management performs more actively as the level of social capital increases, and the company that achieve knowledge management actively shows relatively higher performance than one that do not. On the other hand, among the sub-factors composing the social capital, Vision/Purpose/Value and Norms of Reciprocity directly affect to the organizational performance without knowledge management.

  • In that economic growth strategy through maximizing input would not working anymore in the rapidly changing economic environment, now we should focus on the improvement of firms' efficiency. This study estimate the efficiency and determinants of the efficiency using the panel data of 938 Korean manufacturing firms which ranked in high R&D investment firms during 2005~2018. We found that both R&D intensity as R&D input and patent stock as R&D output increase the efficiency of firms independently. And firm size, debt ratio, profitability also affect the firm's efficiency.

  • Knowledge management (KM) continues to receive mounting interest within the construction industry due to its potential to offer solutions for organisations seeking competitive advantage. This paper presents a KM input-process-output conceptual model comprising unique and well-defined theoretical constructs representing KM practices and their internal and external determinants in the context of construction. The paper also presents the underlying principles used in operationally defining each construct using extant KM literature, and offers a number of testable hypotheses that capture the inter-relationships between the identified constructs.

  • For decades, thousands of corporation introduced knowledge management systems to respond knowledge-based society. However, it seems that the systems merely focusing on knowledge accumulation and its sharing have been bounded by many restrictions in terms of new knowledge creation based on the life cycle of knowledge management systems. Moreover, recently, a variety of knowledge management activities regarding organization, systems, and process is emphasized as a strategic asset for a corporation to create core knowledge. Therefore, this study adopted the Csikszentmihalyi's flow theory to investigate the factors affecting knowledge creation and the success factors of knowledge management systems in virtual space. Prior studies argued that flow experience should be a prerequisite for creative knowledge creation. In that vein, this research revealed the causal relationships for flow experience between the determinants of clear goal, immediate feedback, congruence of challenge and skill. Additionally, it empirically examined how flow experience affected the exploratory behavior of knowledge creation.

  • This paper explores the determinants of the economic value of patents using a survival time analysis. The analysis is based on renewal information of about 250,000 patents filed from 1984 to 2005 in the Korea Intellectual Property Office. A patent right is valid only when its owner pays yearly maintenance fees. Failure to pay causes patent rights to be lapsed. We use the fact that more valued patents live longer and the lengths of their renewals can be closely related to their value. The value can be affected not only by its own technological aspects such as quality and breadth, but also by characteristics of its owners such as innovativeness and age. This paper presents patent-specific and firm-specific characteristics which influence patent value. The result of analysis implies that patent value depends on both the technological contents of the patent and general capabilities of a firm.

Determinants of Partner Opportunism in Distribution Channels: Relational Learning as a Control Mechanism (유통경로 구성원 간 파트너 기회주의의 결정요인과 통제기조로서의 관계학습)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate determinants of partner opportunism in Korean discount store distribution channels. In addition, this study also try to examine moderating role of relational learning in the relationship. This study deals with transaction specific investment asymmetry, mutual hostages, payoff inequity, cultural diversity, and goal incompatibilities as determinants of partner opportunism. For empirical testing, 293 respondents of suppliers of discount store in Korea were surveyed and the analysis utilizing partial least square model indicated that TSI asymmetry, payoff inequity, and goal incompatibilities had positive effects on partner opportunism. On the other hand, mutual hostages had negative effect on partner opportunism. In addition, relational learning had moderating effect on the relationship between TSI asymmetry, mutual hostages, and payoff inequity and partner opportunism.
