Hip articulation fusion is to relieve hip pain from pathologic joint problem. The questionnaire is followed by hip articulation fusion surgery in order to evaluate the degree of pain, function, mobility. However, this subjective evaluation is controversial. The patient endurance of pain which affect function and mobility of lower extremity call not assess objectively. Therefore, gait analysis is necessary for objective evaluation. This study is to evaluate objectively function and mobility after hip articulation fusion surgery using gait analysis.

Although synovial chondromatosis is most frequently found in the knee, they have been reported in temporomandibular joint. Synovial chondromatosis is a cartilaginous metaplasia of the mesenchymal remnants of the synovial tissue of the joint. It is characterized by the formation of cartilaginous nodules (loose bodies) in the synovium and within the articular space. Pain and swelling are the most common symptoms of the synovial chondromatosis and somtimes deviation of the mandible toward the unafected side during motion may occur. When these lesions becom symptomatic, they should be removed surgically.

Successful emergency pulmonary embolectomy with the cardiopulmonary bypass was performed in a 41 \ulcorneryear old male who suffered massive pulmonary embolism after longterm bed rest due to the injury of left knee. Temporary cardiopulmonary bypass provided 120 minutes of circulatory support while complete removal of bilateral pulmonary emboli accomplished using Forgarty catheter and Gall stone forceps. Also, manual compression of the lungs was necessary to remove distal branching emboli. The patient had smooth and uneventful hospital course without complications and discharged from hospital taking coumadine on the 13th day after the operation.

슬관절 후방십자인대의 결절종은 드물게 발생하며, 이에 대한 보고도 적다. 특별한 외상의 병력 없이 발생한 2례의 후방십자인대 결절종을 발견하고, 관절경을 이용하여 생검 및 제거를 하였기에 그 경험을 보고하는 바이다.

The pretibial cyst is a very rare complication after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. It occurs whatever kind of graft choice or kind of graft fixation method at tibial side. It have been known such as graft necrosis at tibial side, extra-articular leakage of joint fluid through tibial tunnel, foreign body reaction due to breakdown of the bioabsorbable screw and incomplete incorporation of graft to bony tunnel as the cause of pretibial cyst. We experienced one case of pretibial cyst which had undergone ACL reconstruction with autogenous hamstring graft fixed with biodegradable interference screw. We report a rare case of pretibial cyst with literature review.

활막육종은 원시 간엽세포에서 원발한 악성연조직종양으로 주 호말부위는 슬관절, 족관절에 발생하는 것으로 되어 있으나, 폐에 원발한 활막육종은 거의 보고되지 않았다. 본원은 폐에 원발한 활막육종을 1례 경험하였기에 이에 보고하는 바이다.

Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure orthopedic surgeons use to visualize, diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. In usual, since the arthroscopic surgery is more accurate and minimally invasive than through 'open' surgery, the surgery of knee, shoulder, and wrist using auto-shaver is increasing in recent. However, repetitive use of arthroscopic-shaver may induce the second infection, hence the disposable arthroscopic-shaver should be developed. In this paper, a unique power transmission mechanism using DC motor, gear trains, and link mechanism is proposed for disposable arthroscopic-shaver and some test results of tissue cutting are introduced.

While popliteal artery aneurysm is the most common form of peripheral artery aneurysm, it is a rare condition in the general population. Furthermore, a giant popliteal artery aneurysm has not previously been reported in Korea. A 67-year-old male presented with left thigh pain that had begun 4 months earlier and was aggravated when in a sitting position. We found a giant aneurysm on the left popliteal artery and performed a bypass from the common femoral artery to the distal popliteal artery below the knee, using the autologous greater saphenous vein, and excluded the aneurysm at the sites of anastomoses.

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a serious complication that can occur after orthopedic surgery. Most instances of PE in the orthopedic field have occurred after hip or knee arthroplasties or after fracture surgeries. The occurrence of PE related to arthroscopic shoulder surgery is very rare. We report a case of PE that developed after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, in which the patient did not show preoperatively any remarkable risk factors for PE. We also review the current literature related to this topic.

Thigh injuries are relatively uncommon sports injuries. But the incidence is increasing as many kinds of sports activity develops. And the prompt recognition and treatment of these injuries are critical to prevent prolonged disability. Also, despite the simple anatomic structure of the thigh, this region is finely tuned muscular mechanism with both anterior and posterior muscles crossing two joints. So the contracture of thigh muscle can result in not only decreased range of motion of the knee and hip joint, but also painful lumbar spine. So we reviewed recent literatures about the type of thigh injuries, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
