The tensile properties of the extruded PC film were measured in the extrusion direction and perpendicular to the extrusion direction. The measured properties were the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio at the glass transition temperature of PC. The measured orthotropic properties of the film were used for the computer simulation of vacuum forming. In this simulation, three mold shapes were tested: dome, trapezoid, and cubic, and the vacuum was applied between the mold surface and the heated film. The stress, strain, thickness, and stretch ratio distributions of the film in different mold shapes were observed and compared. The thermoforming simulation method used in this study and the obtained results, considering the determined orthotropic properties, can be applied to the thermoforming of various three-dimensional shapes.

To evaluate the protective effect of Ziziphi Jujubae Semen(ZJS) on 5-Fluorouracil(5-Fu) in cultured vestibular neurons(VN), neurotoxicity was assessed by XTT assay after VN was exposed to 3-24ug/ml 5-Fu for 48 hours. and also, the neuroprotective effect of ZJS was measured by XTT assay in these cultrures. Cell viability was remarkably decreased dose-dependently, after the treatment with 12ug/ml 5-Fu to cultured VN for 48 hours. In the neuroprotective effect of ZJS on the toxicity induced by 5-Fu, ZJS prevented the neurotoxicity induced by 5-Fu in these cultures. From above the results, it suggests that 5-Fu is toxic in cultured VN and herb extract, ZJS has protective effect over the neurotoxicity induced by 5-Fu.

Effects of hydrogen peroxide $(H_2O_2)-induced$ neurotoxicity were investigated in cultured newborn rat spinal dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons after DRG neurons were treated in the media containning various concentrations of $H_2O_2$. In addition, the protective effect of Herba Epimedii (HE) extract against $H_2O_2-induced$ neurotoxicity was examined. Cytotoxic values were determined by the cell viability of living cells using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. In the present study, exposure of neurons to $H_2O_2$ resulted in a significant cell death in a dose- and time-dependent manners in cultured DRG neurons. The decrement of cell viability by $H_2O_2$ was blocked by HE. These results suggest that the neuroprotective effect of HE against $H_2O_2-induced$ cytotoxicity may result from the prevention of injury induced by $H_2O_2$.

A 29-year-old female patient presented with exertional dyspnea that she had suffered with for 2 months. The chest X-ray displayed right pleural effusion that was diagnosed as chyle, according to the level of cholesterol and triglyceride in the pleural fluid. VATS (video assisted thoracic surgery) of the right lung was performed on the 7th day of hospitalization for obtaining a lung biopsy and to control the of pneumochylothorax. On the 11th hospitalization day, VATS of left lung was also performed to control the recurrent pneumothorax via pleurodesis. The lung biopsy showed moderate amounts of spindle-shaped and rounded cells (so-called LAM cells), which were reactive to actin and HMB45 (on immunohistochemical stains). We report here on a rare case of lymphangioleiomyomatosis combined with chylothorax and bilateral pneumothroraces.

Anaplastic large cell lymphoma(ALCL) is a recently recognized large cell lymphoma characterized by large pleomorphic cells, with prominent nucleoli, expressing the CD30(Ki-1) antigen. It is often misdiagnosed as metastatic carcinoma, malignant histiocytosis or Hodgkin's disease. Primary pulmonary ALCL is extremely rare although it frequently involves extranodal sites, e.g. skin, bone, gastrointestinal tract, soft tissue and lung. We report a case of ALCL suspected as primarily involving lung.

Bilateral renal enlargement is a very rare manifestation as the primary presenting feature of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We are reporting an unusual clinical picture of a 9-month-old male patient diagnosed as precusor B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia, who showed bilateral nephromegaly without any hepatosplenomegaly at the time of initial presentation.

Giant hydronephrosis (GH) is a rare urological entity and usually presents with more than a liter of fluid in the collecting system. It may mimic a progressive and benign abdominal cystic tumor. We report a case of GH in an 11-year-old obese boy who presented with abdominal distension and dyspnea on exercise. Hydronephrosis was caused by ureteropelvic junction obstruction, with 2,300 mL of fluid in the collecting system. Diagnostic and therapeutic features of this case are discussed, with reference to current literature.

The built environment of the elementary school influences on the character and the social skill of children in that childhood development stage. In this regard, sound environment in the elementary school is also important as the other environmental factors. Soundscape design is a design attitude for a better sound environment what landscape design targets a visual one. Four soundscape factors in elementary schools are extracted in this study from surveys on existing elementary schools. They are abstracted and characterized to related design patterns which denote the intended sound environments. The design patterns can be converted into design ideas and applied to an actual design project. There are possible advantages in the proposed elementary school design, environmentally and educationally, especially with the 'designed' soundscape.

Diphyllobothrium latum infection in human is not common in Korea and only thirty seven cases have been reported since 1921. We report two cases of fish tapeworm infection after ingestion of raw cherry salmon (Oncorgynchus masou) caught in the domestic river. Among four family members who ate together raw salmon flesh six months ago, just two, mother and daughter were infected. It is our expectation that the salmon associated tapeworm infections would be enlisted as one of the major parasitic problems with the growing consumption of salmon in Korea.
