Nowadays, with numerous emerging applications (e.g., traffic control, meteorology monitoring, mobile computing, etc.), access methods to process current and future queries for moving objects are becoming increasingly important. Among these methods, the time-parameterized R-tree (TPR-tree) seems likely the most flexible method in one, two, or three-dimensional space. A key point of TPR-tree is that the (conservative) bounding rectangles are expressed by functions of time. In this paper, we propose a new method, which takes into account positions of its moving objects against the rectangle's bounds. In proposed method, the size of bounding rectangle is significantly smaller than the traditional bounding rectangle in many cases. By this approach, we believe that the TPR-tree can improve query performance considerably.

Fruit trees are a key part of agriculture in rural areas and have recently been a part of ecotourism or agrotourism. This study analyzes user segmentation based on user motivation to determine characteristics of potential customers in fruit tree farms, and thereby develop fruit tree experience and educational programs. We conducted a survey of 253 potential customers of fruit tree experience programs in September 2017. Data were evaluated using factor and cluster analyses. The results of the cluster analysis identified four distinct segments based on potential customers' motivations, that is, activity-oriented, learning-oriented, leisure-oriented, and purchase-oriented. These clusters showed that significant differences in the preference of potential customers exist. Different markets were segmented based on the benefits sought by users. The segments' characteristics were identified and activities relevant to each segment were proposed for rural tourism. Lastly, this study suggests directions for development of fruit tree farm experience and educational programs.
Antifungal activities of crude extractum of Nanshancha Seed Cake (NSC), to inactivate postharvest pathogens were investigated. Highest inhibitory rate was found against C. musae, C. gloeosporioides and C. papaya P.Henn, which was much stronger than that by tea saponin. Compared to tea saponin, effects of NSC extractum was relatively weak and similar on C. gloeosporioides Penzig and P. italicum. In an in vivo study, best controlling effects by NSC extractum was found with banana anthracnose disease development, which showed no inhibitory effects by tea saponin. NSC extractum controlled in vitro C. musae growth through directly inhibiting germination rate and germ tube elongation, and causing distortation, rupture and indentation of C. musae mycelium. In banana fruit subject to C. musae inoculation, higher PAL, POD, GLU and CHT activity was observed in banana fruit treated with crude NSC extractum than that of water control fruits. Current study proved the best controlling effects of crude NSC extractum in C. musae in vitro and in vivo development, which through direct inhibition of C. musae growth and increasing defense system of the banana fruit.
Nowadays as video services grow rapidly, it is important for the service providers to provide customized services. Video ranking plays a key role for the service providers to attract the subscribers. In this paper we propose a weekly video ranking mechanism based on the quantified user engagement. The traditional QoE ranking mechanism is relatively subjective and usually is accomplished by grading, while QoS is relatively objective and is accomplished by analyzing the quality metrics. The goal of this paper is to establish a ranking mechanism which combines the both advantages of QoS and QoE according to the third-party data collection platform. We use data mining method to classify and analyze the collected data. In order to apply into the actual situation, we first group the videos and then use the regression tree and the decision tree (CART) to narrow down the number of them to a reasonable scale. After that we introduce the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model and use Elo rating system to improve the fairness of our system. Questionnaire results verify that the proposed solution not only simplifies the computation but also increases the credibility of the system.

DCT-based codebook design using binary tree was proposed to reduce computation time and to solve the initial codebook problem. In this method, DCT coefficient of training vectors that has maximum variance is to be a split key and the mean of coefficients at the location is used as split threshold, then balanced binary tree for final codebook is formed. However edge degradation appears in the reconstructed image, since the blocks of shade region are frequently selected for codevector. In this paper, we propose DCT-based vector quantization codebook design using unbalanced binary tree. Above all, the node that has the largest split key is splited. So the number of edge codevector can be increased. From the simulation results, this method reconstructs the edge region sincerely and shows higher PSNR than previous methods.

The quantification of dry season evaporation in regions, where the magnitude of dry season flows is key to the regional water supply, is essential for good water management. Also, tree transpiration has a significant role in the water balance of a catchment whenever it is tree populated, especially in water limited environments. Such is the case in the Middle Mountains of Nepal where dry season flows play a significant role in downstream water provisioning and their proper functioning is key to the welfare of millions of people. This research seeks to study the transpiration of a pine forest stand in the Jikhu Khola Watershed in the Middle Mountains of Nepal. To the author's knowledge, no single study has been made so far to estimate the dry season evaporation from the planted forest stand in the Middle Mountains of Nepal. The study was carried out in planted pine forest embedded within the Jikhu Khola Catchment. Field campaigns of sap flow measurements were carried out from September, 2010 to February, 2011 in the selected plot of 15*15m dimension, to characterize dry season evaporation. This was done by measuring sap fluxes and sapwood areas over the six trees of different Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) classes. The sap flux was assessed using Granier's thermal dissipation probe (TDP) technique while sapwood area was determined using several incremental core(s) taken with a Pressler borer and immediately dyeing with methyl orange for estimating the actual depth of sapwood area. Transpiration of the plot was estimated by considering the contribution of each tree class. For this purpose, sap flux density, sapwood area and the proportion of total canopy area were determined for each tree class of the selected plot. From these data, hourly and diurnal transpiration rates for the plot were calculated for experimental period. Finally, Cienciala model was parameterized using the data recorded by the ADAS and other terrain data collected in the field. The calibrated model allowed the extrapolation of Sap flux density (v) over a six month period, from September 2010 to February 2011. The model given sap flux density was validated with the measured sap flux density from Grainier method.

Studies have tried to apply remote sensing technology, a non-destructive survey method, instead of the existing destructive survey, which requires relatively large labor input and a long time to estimate chlorophyll content, which is an important indicator for evaluating the growth of fruit trees. This study was conducted to non-destructively evaluate the chlorophyll content of pear tree leaves using unmanned aerial vehicle-based hyperspectral imagery for two years(2021, 2022). The reflectance of the single bands of the pear tree canopy extracted through image processing was band rationed to minimize unstable radiation effects depending on time changes. The estimation (calibration and validation) models were developed using machine learning algorithms of elastic-net, k-nearest neighbors(KNN), and support vector machine with band ratios as input variables. By comparing the performance of estimation models based on full band ratios, key band ratios that are advantageous for reducing computational costs and improving reproducibility were selected. As a result, for all machine learning models, when calibration of coefficient of determination (R2)≥0.67, root mean squared error (RMSE)≤1.22 ㎍/cm2, relative error (RE)≤17.9% and validation of R2≥0.56, RMSE≤1.41 ㎍/cm2, RE≤20.7% using full band ratios were compared, four key band ratios were selected. There was relatively no significant difference in validation performance between machine learning models. Therefore, the KNN model with the highest calibration performance was used as the standard, and its key band ratios were 710/714, 718/722, 754/758, and 758/762 nm. The performance of calibration showed R2=0.80, RMSE=0.94 ㎍/cm2, RE=13.9%, and validation showed R2=0.57, RMSE=1.40 ㎍/cm2, RE=20.5%. Although the performance results based on validation were not sufficient to estimate the chlorophyll content of pear tree leaves, it is meaningful that key band ratios were selected as a standard for future research. To improve estimation performance, it is necessary to continuously secure additional datasets and improve the estimation model by reproducing it in actual orchards. In future research, it is necessary to continuously secure additional datasets to improve estimation performance, verify the reliability of the selected key band ratios, and upgrade the estimation model to be reproducible in actual orchards.

This work provides new forensic techinque to a hide message on a directory index in Windows NTFS file system. Behavior characteristics of B-tree, which is apoted to manage an index entry, is utilized for hiding message in slack space of an index record. For hidden message not to be exposured, we use a disguised file in order not to be left in a file name attribute of a MFT entry. To understand of key idea of the proposed technique, we describe B-tree indexing method and the proposed of this work. We show the proposed technique is practical for anti-forensic usage with a real message hiding case using a developed software tool.
Wind damage of urban trees arises to be a serious issue especially in the typhoon-prone areas. As a family of tree species widely-planted in Southeast China, the structural behaviors of Plane tree is investigated. In order to accommodate the complexities of tree morphology, a fractal theory based finite element modeling method is proposed. On-site measurement of Plane trees is performed for physical definition of structural parameters. It is revealed that modal frequencies of Plane trees distribute in a manner of grouped dense-frequencies; bending is the main mode of structural failure. In conjunction with the probability density evolution method, the fragility assessment of urban trees subjected to wind excitations is then proceeded. Numerical results indicate that small-size segments such as secondary branches feature a relatively higher failure risk in a low wind level, and a relatively lower failure risk in a high wind level owing to windward shrinks. Besides, the trunk of Plane tree is the segment most likely to be damaged than other segments in case of high winds. The failure position tends to occur at the connection between trunk and primary branches, where the logical protections and reinforcement measures can be implemented for mitigating the wind damage.

In spatial database based on spatial data structures, instead of one-dimensional indexing structure, new indexing structure which corresponds to multi-dimensional features of spatial objects is required. In order to meet those requirements, in this paper we proposed new indexing structure for efficient retrieval of spatial database by carrying through the feature analysis of conventional multi-dimensional indexing structures. To improve the sequential search method of supernodes in the conventional X-tree and to reduce the retrieval time in case of generating the huge supernode, we proposed a indexing structure integrating the kd-tree based on point index structure into the X-tree. We implemented the proposed indexing structure and analyzed its retrieval time according to the dimension and distribution of experimental data.
