Substituted cinnamoyl-tyramine derivatives were synthesized by DCC-coupling of substituted cinnamic acid with tyramine or tyramine methyl-1-ether to evaluate PAF-receptor binding antagonistic activities and inhibitory activities on PAF-induced platelet aggregation with interest on structure-activity relations. The results show that 3,4-dimethoxy-cinnamoyl tyramine-amide or its methyl ether have significant PAF-receptor binding antagonistic activity and platelet anti-aggregatory activities.

Due to the inconsistent fluctuation of blood supply for transfusion, much attention has been paid to the development of artificial blood using other animals. Although mini-pigs are candidate animals, contamination of mini-pig T cells in artificial blood may cause a major safety concern. Therefore, it is important to analyze the cross-reactivity of IL-7, the major survival factor for T lymphocytes, between human, mouse, and mini-pig. Thus, we compared the protein sequences of IL-7 and found that porcine IL-7 was evolutionarily different from human IL-7. We also observed that when porcine T cells were cultured with either human or mouse IL-7, these cells did not increase the survival or proliferation compared to negative controls. These results suggest that porcine T cells do not recognize human or mouse IL-7 as their survival factor.

근대 한국의 자생 신종교의 창시자인 수운 최제우, 증산 강일순, 소태산 박중빈 등은 모두 몰락한 양반 출신의 '잔반'(殘班)으로서, 본격적인 종교활동에 앞서 시골 서당의 훈장, 농민, 장사꾼, 술사(術士) 등의 활동을 통해 생계를 꾸려나갔으며, 상층 양반으로부터 하층 상놈으로 전락하여 주변화된 서발턴적 위상으로 인해 다양한 서발턴들의 표현할 수 없는 염원과 원한을 종교적으로 대표/재현할 수 있었다. 그러나 기성 질서의 질곡을 폭로하고 일탈하면서도 새로운 대안 질서를 이념으로 제시하지 않았던 조선 후기 '밀레니엄적 주변종교' 운동과는 달리, 이들은 모두 지배층의 서발턴적 규제와 억압을 전복시키고 기성질서를 대체할 수 있는 '후천개벽'의 새로운 대안적 비전을 체계적으로 제시하고 실천한 '유토피아적 대안종교'로서 탈-서발턴(post-subaltern)적 종교를 제시하였다. 이 글에서는 이들의 사상이 서발턴을 대표/재현할 뿐만 아니라 새로운 종교적-사회적 주체로서 탈-서발턴의 사회적 비전을 구현하는 다양한 양상을 비교하여 분석함으로써 근대 한국의 자생적 신종교가 유토피아적 대안종교 사상임을 논증하였다.
