Measuring Psychological Support for the Unemployed: The Case of Kakao NEET Project

  • This paper attempts to investigate Korean youth Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) and how daily activities and community participation may influence their positive emotions and job search desire. First, we conducted a focus group interview with 16 NEETs who participated in the Kakao NEET Company project. The project allowed participants to experience employment by founding a virtual company in which each participant selected a daily activity to perform as part of the company's operations. Second, the interview responses were categorized and assigned emotional values using the card sorting technique and multi-dimensional analysis (MDS). A total of 11 emotional values were derived through this process. Finally, a social network analysis was conducted in order to measure the density of relations among the emotional values. Results suggest that immersion, confidence, belongingness were the three highest values evaluated by participants. Furthermore, network diagrams imply that the stronger participants perceived social support and belongingness with others, the stronger their responsibility grew, further leading them to establish steady goals. In particular, the high eigenvector score for "desire for job" suggests that emotional values are sequentially connected to the immersion-social support-responsibility-goal-job desire. This sequence suggests that digital services that are developed with the aim to enhance social values such as the Kakao NEET Project may engender motivation and confidence in youth NEETs. The overall results suggest that a systematic approach to policymaking should be considered in order to provide fundamental solutions and expand opportunities for social participation and emotional comfort, as social isolation due to low self-esteem has been reported as one of the reasons for NEETs' failure in the labor market.

Project-based Learning and Learner Interaction by Web Convergency Communication Types (프로젝트기반 학습과 웹 융합 의사소통 유형별 학습자 상호작용)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of learners' academic achievement and learner interaction through project - based learning. In the case of interaction, we focused on the field of learning, that is, the learner's communication style in various technical environments. The subjects of this study were 80 learners who took a 3-hour elective English language learning course at a university in Korea. This study is to investigate the effect of learner interaction through KakaoTalk and LMS (Learning Management System). As a result of the study, it was found that there was a significant difference between learner interaction by project - based learning and communication type and kakao talk utilization group and LMS (Learning Management System) group. 1) The results of the kakao talk utilization group were significant in both the learner interaction and the learner's academic achievement according to the project - based learning and communication type. For current digital native learners, Kakao Talk is the result of the fact that it is the optimal environment for problem solving, communication, and uploading and sharing of educational activities.

An Analysis on Planners and Project Objectives of Kakao Storyfunding

  • This study is based on the purpose of organizing and planning a fundraising for Daum Kakao's 'storyfunding' during the recent crowdfunding that uses mobile-based Internet platforms to raise funds. Analysis by project subjects shows that one planner is more efficient if the ability of one planner, such as 'publishing', is important. However, there were many group A types of contents that require variety of expertise such as 'campaign' and 'journalism' after funding is completed. As a result of analysis by planning purposes, there were the most funds available to produce contents. This is a sign that there are many projects that match the basic purpose of story funding. There are also many other purposes for the purpose of raising public opinion for the project or the establishment of monuments, or for the support of people, animals, or animal rights groups. And there is a private equity fund to sell or promote products. Such quantitative research and analysis will accurately determine the current situation of crowdfunding and will provide basic data such as efficient human composition and goals setting to achieve the goals of crowdfunding in the future.

The Effect of Math Project Learning Using Chat-bot on Artificial Intelligence Literacy (챗봇 활용 수학 프로젝트 학습이 인공지능 리터러시에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of project learning using chatbots on artificial intelligence literacy. The subjects of the study were a total of 41 students from 1st to 3rd grade of general high school in Gyeonggi-do. Classes were held after school for a total of 6 hours, and the contents of the classes consisted of the concept and characteristics of artificial intelligence, the concept and expression of knowledge, OBT application for Kakao i open builder, guidance on how to create chatbots, and chatbot production practice. As a result of the pre- and post-test of the experimental group, the quantitative value of artificial intelligence literacy increased in all three grades. In the case of second-year students who set up a comparison group, when compared with the results of the comparison group, there was a significant positive effect on the AI literacy result, and female students were found to be more effective than male students.

A Study on the Promotional Activities and Information Provision by Support Centers for Childcare: Focused on the Years 2019-2023 (육아종합지원센터 홍보 및 정보제공 사업 현황에 관한 연구: 2019년~2023년을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to provide essential foundational data for strengthening the primary roles and functions of Support Centers for Childcare (SCC) by analyzing the project status of promotional and information dissemination activities conducted over the past five years (2019-2023). The study results indicate that, in terms of promotion, the most common activity was the production of commemorative items, with text messaging being the primary promotional method. Promotional materials were predominantly distributed directly within the centers. Secondly, regarding information dissemination, job information was the most frequently provided content on the nationwide centers' websites, KakaoStory was the most utilized SNS platform, and newsletters were the most commonly produced and distributed publication form. Based on these findings, if the Support Centers for Childcare (SCC) efficiently manage their promotional and information dissemination strategies, they will be able to provide customized childcare support services that cater to the specific characteristics of each region in the future.

Enhancing Project Integration and Interoperability of GIS and BIM Based on IFC (IFC 기반 GIS와 BIM 프로젝트 통합관리 및 상호 운용성 강화)

  • The recent advancements in Smart City and Digital Twin technologies have highlighted the critical role of integrating GIS and BIM in urban planning and construction projects. This integration ensures the consistency and accuracy of information, facilitating smooth information exchange. However, achieving interoperability requires standardization and effective project integration management strategies. This study proposes interoperability solutions for the integration of GIS and BIM for managing various projects. The research involves an in-depth analysis of the IFC schema and data structures based on the latest IFC4 version and proposes methods to ensure the consistency of reference point coordinates and coordinate systems. The study was conducted by setting the EPSG:5186 coordinate system, used by the National Geographic Information Institute's digital topographic map, and applying virtual shift origin coordinates. Through BIMvision, the results of the shape and error check coordinates' movement in the BIM model were reviewed, confirming that the error check coordinates moved consistently with the reference point coordinates. Additionally, it was verified that even when the coordinate system was changed to EPSG:5179 used by Naver Map and road name addresses, or EPSG:5181 used by Kakao Map, the BIM model's shape and coordinates remained consistently unchanged. Notably, by inputting the EPSG code information into the IFC file, the potential for coordinate system interoperability between projects was confirmed. Therefore, this study presents an integrated and systematic management approach for information sharing, automation processes, enhanced collaboration, and sustainable development of GIS and BIM. This is expected to improve compatibility across various software platforms, enhancing information consistency and efficiency across multiple projects.

A Study on the Student Surveys for CAAD(Computer Aided Architectural Design) (건축 CAD 과목에 대한 학생 설문평가에 관한 연구)

  • The importance of the digital architecture is increasing more ever. Currently, CAD and 3D programs are used as design fields, but the BIM (building information modeling) is gradually interested. BIM is mandatory on the project more than 50 billion won ordered by the government since 2012, it will be expanded to a total of government orders by 2016. University needs to evaluate teaching methods and computer-aided design environments such as CAD and BIM. In this paper, we surveyed computer-aided design environments and teaching methods for 73 students at the J University of Department of architectural engineering. Main results are as follows: 1. Hardlock is uncomfortable but necessary program for the computer management. 2. The desk placement considering the behavior of the design students results in higher satisfaction. 3. Because a CAD subject was a difficult course content and progress is fast, students thought it is difficult to follow. Especially, first-year students answered it is difficult to learn program and understand the structure of the building at the same time. 4. First-year students want to learn CAD more. Second-, third-, fourth-year students want to learn Photoshop more. Supplement for these classes is required. 5. Students answered that a teaching method of a CAD subject would be good to their own practice after the professor demonstrates for students. The senior's assistance is also a high effective way in the class. 6. During class, students' activities such surfing the web and Kakao Talk on a smartphone disrupt the class, there is a need to regulate by a rule such as disconnect computers from a network and against using smartphone. Although the Internet with the popularization of smartphones confers a benefit on modern life, it causes damage to us. This is a hard part for a salaried workers as well as students studying equally. The self management is required and a professor needs to control and restraint in a university classroom. The professor's continuing interest to students can increase the effectiveness of learning.
