Stressors of Students in High School (고교 청소년 스트레스 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the stressors of students in high school. Demographic data such as jobs of parents, family types, levels of living (parents' monthly income) and students' school records, high school types, number of friends, religion, pocket money and their sex showed as the main causes of high school students' stress. The data was analyzed by a t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan Multiple Range Test. The variable which significantly influenced the general properties was sex(p=0.001), high school type (p=0.000), number of friends (p=0.002), parents monthly income (p=0.011) and whether existence of their father or not (p=0.045). In the result (stress score), girl students (25.07) feel greater stress than boy students (20.68). High school type, an academic girls' high school (27.34) and boys' high school (25.67) showed the highest. It was indicated in the study that it is necessary to have programs that help students' stress management and improve high school type Systems.

The Influence of University Student's Perception on their External Image and Self Perfectionism on Depression (일부 대학생의 외적 이미지와 자기 완벽성에 대한 인식이 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of external image and self perfectionism on the depression. The survey collected 240 subjects from 3 university students in Seoul, Korea. The research period was from May to June of 2011 and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 15.0. As a result of this research, those with lower self image level, those with higher self perfectionism increased the depression level. It is necessary to develop programs for university students considering the fact that external image and self perfectionism influence on the depression. Moreover, it should be developed that solutions can decrease psychological pressure and overcome overwhelming expectation.

The Impacts of Working in the Hospital Empowerment, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment Turnover Intention (의료기관 종사자들의 임파워먼트와 직무만족 및 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide information to Efficient utilization of human resources management by studying the factors influencing the turnover intention of employees working in the Hospital. The study, the area of medical institutions located in more than 30 hospital-grade medical workers engaged in the collection of data aimed at the September 2010 and October 1 days and 1, 794 were used for the analysis, data processing and analysis package, SPSS 18.0 was used. The findings are as follows: First, the study found that age, job position had a significant and negative effect on turnover intentions. The turnover intention rates were highest among nursing staffs, followed by medical technicians and healthcare supporters and then administrators. Secondly, high degree of autonomy, job skills recognition and less job satisfaction in a positions have been identified to affect the significant. It also has turned out that job suitability and emotional commitment have influenced the turnover intentions.

Self-Efficacy, Self-Concept of Professional Nursing, and Clinical Practice Satisfaction to Clinical Practice Education in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 임상실습교육에 대한 자기효능감, 전문직 자아개념 및 임상실습만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify self-efficacy and self-concept of professional nursing which might influence clinical practice satisfaction in nursing students. The participants were 278 nursing students in U city. Date were collected from November 29 to December 17, 2010. The collected data was analyzed with the PASW 18.0 statistics program. Self-efficacy had significant positive correlation with self-concept of professional nursing(r=.595, p<.001) and self-concept of professional nursing had significant positive correlation with clinical practice satisfaction(r=.396, p<.001). In multiple regression analysis, self-concept of professional nursing is most influential factor explained 21% of variance of clinical practice satisfaction. The results indicate that to develop a more reasonable and effective curriculum and teaching program for enhancement of students' self-concept of professional nursing.

Human Resource Management System for Nurses: Challenges and Research Directions (병원 내 간호사 인적자원관리시스템: 과제와 연구방향)

  • Nurses are critical human resources for the hospitals. However, in Korean hospitals, human resource management practices for nurses are not well established, and nurses' turnover rates are very high. Although the causes and tasks for shortage of nurses are analyzed, suggestions for the specific ways of HRM management practices for hospital managers are rare. In this article, the management challenges for nurses are discussed, and high commitment human resources management model for nurses are suggested. And future research directions and topics are suggested.

Factors Affecting the Cost-Reduction Practice of Clinical Nurses (임상 간호사의 비용절감수행 영향 요인)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting the cost-reduction practice of clinical nurses. Methods : The Data were collected from Feb. 25, to Mar. 15, 2015.the Total subjects were 201 nurses working in secondary-care hospitals located in Busan Results : The Meaningful variables that explain the cost-reduction practice in clinical nurses were psychological ownership, religion, and marital status in that order. Total explanation power was 22.1.% and psychological ownership has most explanation power. Conclusions : Psychological ownership and economic consciousness need to improve to develop cost-reduction practices. Additionally, nurses with and low concern about finances need to receive financial-related education.

Life Satisfaction of Elderly Living Alone Based on Their Physical, Mental and Subjective Oral Health Status (독거노인의 신체, 정신 및 주관적 구강건강상태에 따른 삶의 만족도)

  • Objectives : The aims of this study were to identify life satisfaction of elderly living alone based on their health status and suggest measures that improve their physical, mental and oral health, which could be used in future welfare policies on the elderly. Methods : The study subjects were 307 senior citizens who lived alone and used senior citizen centers in Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do. Results : Life satisfaction tended to be high when the subjects had a low number of chronic diseases, no activity limitations and stress, no suicidal feelings, no tooth mobility and chewing difficulty and denture use. Conclusions : To improve life satisfaction, elderly living alone need to make effort to maintain their health however, policy programs that improve the physical, mental and oral health of the elderly need to be promoted.

Serious Dental Disease Factors of Dental Clinic Patients (치과병원 내원환자의 중대 구강병 영향요인)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to review the factors related to serious dental diseases in dental clinic patients to provide basic data on health and oral health improvement. Methods : This study included 257 patients who visited dental clinics located in Gyeonggi-do. For the survey method, patients filled out questionnaires, and their dental examination charts were reviewed. The subjects of this study were selected using convenience sampling. Surveys were done with a self-entry questionnaire. Results : Serious dental diseases were more likely to be found in men than in women, in married subjects than in single subjects, in obese subjects than in normal-weight subjects, in subjects with xerostomia and in subjects who did not receive regular oral examinations and scaling. Conclusions : In order to promote oral health, individual efforts by dental clinic patients should be made along with the implementation of oral health improvement programs and policies.

Prevalence and Its Influencing Factors on Depression among Elderly Vulnerable People in Urban Community (일 도시지역 취약노인의 우울 유병률과 영향 요인)

  • To identify the prevalence and its influencing factors on depression among elderly vulnerable people in one urban community. This study used data from 381 of elderly vulnerable people in the community. The prevalence of depression was found to be 51.97%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis shows that depression was more prevalent as people in female gender; people with lower self-esteem compared to those with higher self-esteem; in elderly who perceived lower social support compared to those who perceived higher social support; and in the older adults with limitation in instrumental activity of daily living. The finding of a significant association between gender difference; self-esteem; perceived social support, and limitation in instrumental activity of daily living and occurrence of depression expected to promote the screening strategy for elderly at risk of depression in Korean community.

Factors Affecting Adaptation in Parents of Newborn with Congenital Heart Disease (선천성 심질환 환아 부모의 적응 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting stress and adaptation in newborn congenital heart disease patients of parents. Data were obtained through questionnaires from 181 newborn congenital heart disease inpatients of parents from P university in Y city. The data were analyzed SPSS 18.0, using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Stress was negative correlated with level of patents adaptation. Social support, marital communication and family cohesion were positive correlated with level of patents adaptation. The explained variances for patents adaptation were 45.2% and factors affecting patients adaptation were congenital heart disease, family cohesion, stress, social support and marital communication. Educational intervention program for parents of newborn with congenital heart disease, reduce stress, and to increase the adaptation will be developed.
