Observational Performance of KMTNet - Bulge Season 2015

  • 한국천문연구원에서는 직경 1.6m 광시야 망원경과 3.4억 화소 CCD 카메라로 구성된 동일한 성능의 외계행성 탐색시스템 3대를 남반구 관측소에 설치 완료하였다. 2014년 9월 칠레에 1호기 설치를 시작으로 2014년 12월과 2015년 5월에 남아공 및 호주에 2호기와 3호기를 각각 설치하였다. 외계행성 탐색시스템이 설치된 3개 관측소는 경도상 위치가 적당히 3등분 되어있어 동일한 천체를 최대 24시간 연속하여 관측 가능하다. 우리는 이 시스템이 가진 장점을 최대한 살릴 수 있는 연구주제를 선정하여 2015년 10월부터 본격적으로 관측을 수행해오고 있다. 3월부터 10월에는 3개 관측소에서 우리은하 중심부를 24시간 연속 관측하여 미시중력렌즈 방법을 이용한 외계행성 탐색연구를 수행하고 은하 중심부를 관측할 수 없는 기간에는 초신성, 소행성 및 외부은하 등을 관측한다. 각 관측 프로그램의 시간배정 및 관측결과 요약 등의 정보를 홈페이지에 제공함으로써(http://kmtnet.kasi.re.kr/kmtnet-monitor/) 각 프로그램의 관측 상황을 효율적으로 모니터링 할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이 발표에서는 지난 2015년 우리은하 중심부를 관측하여 얻은 약 31.5TB의 관측 자료 분석 결과를 통해 구한 관측시스템의 성능을 리뷰하고 2016년 관측시스템 운영계획에 대하여 논의한다.

요양병원의 입원급여 적정성 평가 결과에 미치는 영향 요인 분석 (Factors influencing the composite quality score from the quality assessment program for long-term care hospitals)

  • Purposes: This study purposed to identify factors influencing the composite quality score from the quality assessment program for long-term care hospitals Methodology: The study variables was obtained from HIRA(Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service): the composite quality scores and hospital variables such as number of doctors, nurses, beds, medical technicians, medical equipments, administrative region, ownerships from 3rd (2010) to 7th (2018) quality assessment program. National Statistical Portal(www.kosis.go.kr) provided the number of senior citizens aged over 65 in city·county·district area. SAS 9.4 was used for the data processing and used to analyze the data. Findings: The results showed that composite quality score increased past 9 years. Hospital variables such as number of doctor, nurse, medical technicians, bed and public hospitals had significant positive relationship with the composite quality score. Administrative region(district) showed higher scores compare to that of city. Compare to the score of quality assessment year(2010), as the assessment year move to 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, results showed higher significant positive coefficients. Practical Implication: Continuously improve the performance of long-term care hospitals, current quality assessment program are needed to update their system such as adopting indicators measuring the service process, or compensating the cost for quality assessment program. It will enable to provide more reasonable and accurate performance assessment scores.

  • 초임계 유체공정 및 반응상용화에 의한 불융/불용성 폐플라스틱 재활용은 다양한 분야에서 응용이 가능하며, 고부가가치의 신제품생산과 연계하여, 국내 유화산업의 국제 경쟁력 확보가 가능하다고 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 초임계유체를 이용하여 불융/불용 폐플라스틱의 자원순환기술에 대한 특허와 논문을 분석하였다. 분석범위는 1993년에서 2012년까지의 미국, 유럽연합, 일본, 한국의 등록/공개된 특허와 SCI 논문으로 제한하였다. 특허와 논문은 키워드를 사용하여 수집하였으며, 기술의 정의에 의해 필터링하였다. 특허와 논문의 동향은 연도, 국가, 기업, 기술 등에 따라 분석하여 고찰하였다.

  • 주석은 땜납, 주석도금강판, 청동 합금, 투명전극용 타겟 및 화학첨가제 등에 널리 사용되고 있다. 최근 자원의 희소성 및 경제성으로 인해 주석 스크랩에 대한 재활용 기술이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 주석이 함유된 공정 스크랩, 슬러지, 도금 폐액 및 합금의 재활용 기술에 대하여 1970년부터 2013년까지 공개/등록된 한국, 미국, 중국, 일본, 유럽의 특허에 대하여 조사하였다. 특허는 키워드를 사용하여 수집하였으며, 기술의 정의에 의해 필터링 하여 연도, 국가, 출원인 및 기술에 따라 분석하였다.

  • 국내의 한국전력망 또는 민간 산업공장에서는 노후선로 교체 또는 부하 증가에 의한 송전용량 증대를 위한 가공전선 교체 작업으로 인하여 매년 수백 톤의 폐가공전선이 발생되고 있는 실정이다. 최근 경제적인 측면과 환경적인 측면, 효율성에 관한 측면에서 전선의 재활용 기술이 폭넓게 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐전선의 재활용 기술에 대한 특허와 논문을 분석하였다. 분석범위는 1975년 ~ 2011년까지의 미국, 유럽연합, 일본, 한국의 등록/공개된 특허와 SCI 논문으로 제한하였다. 특허와 논문은 키워드를 사용하여 수집하였고, 기술의 정의에 의해 필터링 하였다. 특허와 논문의 동향은 연도, 국가, 기업, 기술에 따라 분석하여 나타내 보았다.

EST Knowledge Integrated Systems (EKIS): An Integrated Database of EST Information for Research Application

  • The EST Knowledge Integrated System, EKIS (http://ekis.kribb.re.kr), was established as a part of Korea's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology initiative for genome sequencing and application research of the biological model organisms (GEAR) project. The goals of the EKIS are to collect EST information from GEAR projects and make an integrated database to provide transcriptomic and metabolomic information for biological scientists. The EKIS constitutes five independent categories and several retrieval systems in each category for incorporating massive EST data from high-throughput sequencing of 65 different species. Through the EKIS database, scientists can freely access information including BLAST functional annotation as well as Genechip and pathway information for KEGG. By integrating complex data into a framework of existing EST knowledge information, the EKIS provides new insights into specialized metabolic pathway information for an applied industrial material.

BcSNPdb: Bovine Coding Region Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Located Proximal to Quantitative Trait Loci

  • Bovine coding region single nucleotide polymorphisms located proximal to quantitative trait loci were identified to facilitate bovine QTL fine mapping research. A total of 692,763 bovine SNPs was extracted from 39,432 UniGene clusters, and 53,446 candidate SNPs were found to be a depth >3. In order to validate the in silico SNPs experimentally, 186 animals representing 14 breeds and 100 mixed breeds were analyzed. Genotyping of 40 randomly selected candidate SNPs revealed that 43% of these SNPs ranged in frequency from 0.009 to 0.498. To identify non-synonymous SNPs and to correct for possible frameshift errors in the ESTs at the predicted SNP positions, we designed a program that determines coding regions by protein-sequence referencing, and identified 17,735 nsSNPs. The SNPs and bovine quantitative traits loci informations were integrated into a bovine SNP data: BcSNPdb (http://snugenome.snu.ac.kr/BtcSNP/). Currently there are 43 different kinds of quantitative traits available. Thus, these SNPs would serve as valuable resources for exploiting genomic variation that influence economically and agriculturally important traits in cows.

HPLC-UV 방법을 이용한 향부자 분석법 개발과 국산 및 중국산 향부자의 패턴비교 (Development of Content Analysis for Cyperus rotundus by HPLC-UV and a Comparison between Chinese and Domestic Cyperi Rhizoma)

  • A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) combined with ultraviolet (UV) method for the simultaneous determination of ${\alpha}$-cyperone and nootkatone was developed for the quality control of Cyperus rotundus Linne. The separation was performed on a KR100-$5C_{18}$ ($4.6{\times}250mm$) column, and an elution gradient composed of methanol and water with a flow-rate of 1.0 ml/min. Detection wavelength was set at 254 nm. The optimum extraction for the detection of the ${\alpha}$-cyperone and nookatone was achieved by ultrasonic with methanol for an hour. Two marker compounds ${\alpha}$-cyperone and nootkatone in Cyperi Rhizoma showed good linearity ($R^2$ >0.999) in the concentration range of $12.5{\mu}g/ml$ to $200{\mu}g/ml$. The developed method provided satisfactory precision and accuracy with overall intra-day and inter-day variations of 0.04~1.23% and 0.08~0.68%, respectively, and the overall recoveries of 97.45~105.58% for the two compounds analyzed. Additionally, a difference was observed in the cluster analysis and principal component analysis between Cyperi Rhizoma in Korea and China. The result demonstrated that the principal component analysis is useful to distinguish between Cyperi Rhizoma in Korea and China.

Parametric Studies of Pulsed Laser Deposition of Indium Tin Oxide and Ultra-thin Diamond-like Carbon for Organic Light-emitting Devices

  • Device quality indium tin oxide (ITO) films are deposited on glass substrates and ultra-thin diamond-like carbon films are deposited as a buffer layer on ITO by a pulsed Nd:YAG laser at 355 nm and 532 nm wavelength. ITO films deposited at room temperature are largely amorphous although their optical transmittances in the visible range are > 90%. The resistivity of their amorphous ITO films is too high to enable an efficient organic light-emitting device (OLED), in contrast to that deposited by a KrF laser. Substrate heating at $200^{\circ}C$ with laser wavelength of 355 nm, the ITO film resistivity decreases by almost an order of magnitude to $2{\times}10^{-4}\;{\Omega}\;cm$ while its optical transmittance is maintained at > 90%. The thermally induced crystallization of ITO has a preferred <111> directional orientation texture which largely accounts for the lowering of film resistivity. The background gas and deposition distance, that between the ITO target and the glass substrate, influence the thin-film microstructures. The optical and electrical properties are compared to published results using other nanosecond lasers and other fluence, as well as the use of ultra fast lasers. Molecularly doped, single-layer OLEDs of ITO/(PVK+TPD+$Alq_3$)/Al which are fabricated using pulsed-laser deposited ITO samples are compared to those fabricated using the commercial ITO. Effects such as surface texture and roughness of ITO and the insertion of DLC as a buffer layer into ITO/DLC/(PVK+TPD+$Alq_3$)/Al devices are investigated. The effects of DLC-on-ITO on OLED improvement such as better turn-on voltage and brightness are explained by a possible reduction of energy barrier to the hole injection from ITO into the light-emitting layer.

Metal Insulator Gate Geometric HEMT: Novel Attributes and Design Consideration for High Speed Analog Applications

  • Improvement in breakdown voltage ($BV_{ds}$) and speed of the device are the key issues among the researchers for enhancing the performance of HEMT. Increased speed of the device aspires for shortened gate length ($L_g$), but due to lithographic limitation, shortening $L_g$ below sub-micrometer requires the inclusion of various metal-insulator geometries like T-gate onto the conventional architecture. It has been observed that the speed of the device can be enhanced by minimizing the effect of upper gate electrode on device characteristics, whereas increase in the $BV_{ds}$ of the device can be achieved by considering the finite effect of the upper gate electrode. Further, improvement in $BV_{ds}$ can be obtained by applying field plates, especially at the drain side. The important parameters affecting $BV_{ds}$ and cut-off frequency ($f_T$) of the device are the length, thickness, position and shape of metal-insulator geometry. In this context, intensive simulation work with analytical analysis has been carried out to study the effect of variation in length, thickness and position of the insulator under the gate for various metal-insulator gate geometries like T-gate, $\Gamma$-gate, Step-gate etc., to anticipate superior device performance in conventional HEMT structure.
