PC 카메라를 이용한 수돗물의 과망간산칼륨소비량 적정 자동화 (Automatic Titration for KMnO4 Consumption Test of Tap Water Using Personal Computer Camera)

  • An automatic titration system using a PC-camera with a color filter on its lens was used in the $KMnO_4$ consumption test of tap water and distilled water in relation to blank tests. The very faint pink color of titration end point could be effectively detected by using a yellow cellophane paper as a color filter. The average hue value (Havg) of 192 pixels in the image of the sample solution being titrated was computed and followed up at regular time intervals during titration in order to detect the titration end point. The Havg decrease of 2 degrees from the average of first 10 Havgs was regarded as reaching the end point. The volume of 0.01N $KMnO_4$ consumed by a tap water sample was $0.728{\pm}0.022ml$ in manual titration and $0.735{\pm}0.013ml$ in automatic titration (p=0.580). The volume of 0.01N $KMnO_4$ consumed by a distilled water sample was $0.383{\pm}0.015ml$ in manual titration and $0.367{\pm}0.015ml$ in automatic titration (p=0.252). The high p-values for t-test suggested that there were good agreements between manual and automatic titration data and the automatic method proposed in this article was considered to effectively replace the manual titration.

과망간산을 이용한 지하수내 TCE 분해의 동력학적 해석 (Oxidative Degradation Kinetics of Trichloroethylene in Groundwater by Permanganate)

  • 본 연구에서는 지하수내의 TCE 오염물질을 과망간산을 이용하여 산화분해할 경우의 반응율에 대하여 평가하였다. 또한 최적의 산화제 주입량 결정을 위하여 TCE뿐만 아니라 지하수 대수층 물질에 의한 과망간산의 소모율에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. 대수층 물질이 없는 경우에 과망간산에 의한 TCE의 분해는 효과적으로 이루어졌으며 500 mg/L의 과망간산 농도에서 $k_{obs}=5.24{\times}10^{-3}s^{-1}$의 유사 1차반응계수를 얻었다. TCE와 과망간산에 대하여 각각 1차반응, 전체적으로는 2차반응을 나타내었다. 이때의 반응계수는 $k=0.65{\pm}0.08M^{-1}s^{-1}$였다. 반면 대수층 물질 자체는 산화제인 과망간산과 활발한 반응을 하여 상당한 소모효과를 나타내었으며 이는 대수층 물질내에 존재하는 금속산화물에 의한 것이라 판단된다.

COD 측정분석 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Comparison and Analysis of COD Results and Experimental Methods)

  • The Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD) by potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate is used as a measure of the organic matter content of a sample. Newly proposed $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ analysis method to be list at Korean Official Method was made from analysis and comparison of the experimental process on Japanese Industrial Standard(JIS), American Open Reflux and Closed Reflux Methods. New $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ method had better the qualitative and reproducible COD results than another methods as a result of the tested four times repeatedly by using Lakes water Plant wastewater. The COD data ratio by $KMnO_{4}$ and $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ methods was 2-3, 3, 2-17 and 3-4 times respectively when its data had compared with the lakes water and treated water of domestic and experimental wastewater, and raw wastewater which is generated at the manufacturing process of 6 steps and treated wastewater of chemistry source. Its ratio indicated to 2-4 and 2-3 times respectively on raw wastewater and plant wastewater of Chemistry, rubber and plastic, fiber, metal molding source. Oxidation ratio of benzene and ethyl benzene by $KMnO_{4}$ method was nearly zero, but the oxidation ratio by $K$_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ method was 50%, 70% respectively. Also, Oxidation ratio of phenol by $KMnO_{4}$ and $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ methods was 80%, 100% respectively, and trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene were not nearly oxidizd by $KMnO_{4}$ and $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ methods. As the above contents, oxidation ratio and COD results by $KMnO_{4}$ and $K_{2}Cr_{2}O_{7}$ were different from various from various compounds and samples respectively.

Inhibitory Effect of {Surfactant- MnO4-} Aggregation in KMnO4 Oxidation of Proline and Methionine: A Kinetic Study

  • Anionic (sodium lauryl sulphate, NaLS) cationic (cetyl ammonium bromide, CTAB) and non-ionic (Tween-80) surfactants have been found to inhibit the rate of oxiadation L-proline and L-methionine by alkaline $KMnO_4$. A first order dependence of rate of oxidation was observed with respect to $MnO_4{^-}$. The order of reaction in substrate and alkali was found to be fractional nearby 0.65 and 0.55 in Aminoacid and $OH^-$, respectively. An aggregation/association between $MnO_4{^-}$ and surfactant has been confirmed spectrophotometrically. A mechanism, involving kinetically inactive [$MnO_4{^-}$ surfactant] aggregate and consistent with kinetic data, has been proposed. The effect of surfactants has been discussed in terms of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions.

반응몰비에 따른 다공성 CuO/MnO2의 제조 및 특성 연구 (Study on the production of porous CuO/MnO2 using the mix proportioning method and their properties)

  • 본 연구는 상온에서 과망간산칼륨 (KMnO4)과 망간아세테이트 (Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O) 수용액을 반응시켜 초산구리 (Cu(CH3COO)2·H2O) 수용액을 공침한 다공성 CuO/MnO2 촉매에 대한 물리화학적 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 합성방법은 KMnO4과 Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O의 반응 몰비율을 0.3:1, 0.6:1, 1:1로 반응시켜 초산구리 수용액을 망간아세테이트 투입량 대비 10~75 wt%로 공침시켜 구리이온을 담지시켰다. 제조된 촉매는 TGA/DTA, XRD, SEM 및 BET를 통해 촉매에 대한 물리화학적 특성을 분석하였고, 그 결과 반응 몰비율 변화에 따라 γ-MnO2, α-MnO2로 상변이가 이루어 졌으며, 반응 몰비율이 0.6:1 일 때 비표면적이 253 m2/g을 갖는 다공성 CuO/γ-MnO2 촉매가 제조되었다.

나일틸라피아 치어에 미치는 염화나트륨, 포르말린 및 과망간산칼륨의 금성독성 (Acute Toxicity of Sodium Chloride, Formaline and Potassium Permanganate to Nile Tilapia Fry)

  • 염화나트륨(NaCl), 포르말린 및 과망간산칼륨(KMnO$_4$)에 대한 나일틸라피아, Oreochromis niloticus의 24시간 급성 독성을 조사하였다. 1. NaCl의 24시간 $LC_{50}$ 값은 18.6$\textperthousand$이었고 95% 신뢰한계의 상한치는 18.7$\textperthousand$ 하한치는 18.5$\textperthousand$었다. 포르말린의 24시간 $LC_{50}$ 값은 152 ppm 이었고, 상한치는 156ppm, 하한치는 148 ppm 이었다. KMnO$_4$의 24시간 $LC_{50}$ 값은 2.09 ppm 이었고 상한치는 2.11 ppm, 하한치는 2.07ppm 이었다. 2. 모든 처리 화합물은 본 종에 대해 좁은 농도 범위 내에서 급성독성 효과를 나타내었으며, 아울러 뚜렷한 농도 의존성을 보였다. 이상의 결과를 본 연구에서 사용된 3가지 화합물의 틸라피아 양식에서의 유용성과 연관시켜 논의하였다.

Effects of potassium and carbon addition on bacterial algae bioremediation of boezem water

  • Bioremediation of bacterial algae is one of wastewater treatment by utilizing symbiosis of bacterial algae, which is relatively inexpensive and safe for the environment. The aims of this research were: (1) to investigate initial characteristic of boezem water of Kalidami Surabaya, (2) to investigate the effect of potassium (K) element and carbon source addition toward the reduction of $NH_3-N$ content and organic matter in $KMnO_4$ of boezem water. The research conducted in a laboratory in batches without adding aeration. The initial stage of this research was conducting alga culture until it was obtained chlorophyll-a algae concentration of $3.5{\pm}0.5mg/L$. The best result of range finding test was a comparison of boezem water volume with algal which were about 25%:75%. The research conducted in duplo over 18 d. The result of the research can be concluded that boezem water of Kalidami Surabaya for the parameter of pH, temperature, $NH_3-N$, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, and number of $KMnO_4$ show that it enables to do bioremediation of bacterial algae. Decrease efficiency occurred in a reactor with the addition of element K 3% and source C. $NH_3-N$ and $KMnO_4$ final content 0.164 mg/L and 30 mg/L, respectively.

과망간산칼리에 의한 어류 아가미의 병리조직학적 변화와 수질에 따른 영향 (Histopathological changes in fish gills by potassium permanganate and influence of water quality)

  • 해산어에서 넙치, 조피볼락, 담수어에서 비단잉어와 뱀장어의 4 어종에서 과망간산칼리에 의한 아가미의 조직변화를 관찰하였다. 해산어는 담수어에 비해 과망간산칼리에 더 민감하며, 1ppm의 저농도에서도 아가미의 조직변화가 일어났다. 뱀장어는 비단잉어보다 과망간산칼리에 대한 저항성이 더 높았다. 특히 뱀장어에서는 과망간산칼리에 노출된 어류의 아가미에서 점액세포의 증가가 두드러졌다, 사육수에서는 지하수에서보다 과망간산칼리의 영향이 훨씬 감소하는데, 이 차이가 유기물질의 양에 의한 것임은 사료농도별로 한 실험에서 확인되었다. 또한 용존산소에 따라서도 과망간산칼리의 효력이 영향을 받는다.
