리더십, 평가 및 보상, KMS특성이 KMS 이용에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Leadership, Appraisal, Reward, and KMS Characteristics on KMS Use)

  • 본 연구는 정부조직의 KMS 이용 활성화방안을 논의하기 위해 기관장의 리더십과 제도적 요인, KMS 특성, 그리고 KMS 이용 간의 구조적 영향 관계를 분석하였다. 실증분석결과, 기관장 리더십은 평가 및 보상에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 평가 역시 보상에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 KMS 이용에 관한 보상과 지식품질은 KMS 이용에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 하지만 기관장 리더십과 평가, KMS 품질은 KMS 이용에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 정부조직에서 KMS 이용에 관한 이론적 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

  • Since the introduction of knowledge management systems, many studies have attempted to analyze its performance and identify the success factors. However, few studies have investigated the relationship between KMS technology characteristics and its quality. This paper attempts to categorize KMS technology functions into socialization, externalization, combination and internalization and then find the relationship between these functions and KMS quality. It also attempts to investigate the moderating effect of task characteristics in this relationship. Our research frame is derived from the well known task-technology fit model and the related KMS performance studies. A survey was conducted from 157 KMS users. It is found that both externalization and combination are important for KMS quality and this quality influences the KMS performance. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the task characteristics can moderate between the KMS technology and its quality.

블로그형 KMS와 비(非)블로그형 KMS 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Blog based KMS and Non-Blog based KMS)

  • As Knowledge Management (KM) has taken an essential position of managing businesses in the knowledge-oriented society, many companies have adopted Knowledge Management System (KMS) into their organization. Many have questioned, however, in the result and the effectiveness in KMS. The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve the current KMS by analyzing and identifying the causes that affect effectiveness of KMS. Blog which is an effective tool for communication could be used for KMS in order to make KMS more user friendly and more effective. This research is intended to conduct an empirical study on the differences between Blog-based KMS and Non-Blog-based KMS and suggest resolutions to potential issues of KMS. Blog-based KMS users show higher degree of satisfaction and usage toward their system. The result of this study suggests that the differences between two groups are primarily on system quality and knowledge quality, and many of these differences come from functions and characteristics of Blog.

  • 본 연구에서는 공공부문에서 운영되고 있는 KMS의 성과평가의 일환으로 KMS 사용자 만족도의 선행요인 및 사용자 만족도와 성과 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하고 효과적인 KMS 운영을 위한 함의를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 지식품질과 KMS 품질, 사용자 만족도 및 성과 간의 영향관계에 관한 구조방정식 분석결과, 연구모형에서 설정한 3개의 가설 모두가 채택되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 KMS 사용자 만족도 및 성과 향상을 위한 효과적인 KMS 운영방안을 제시하였다.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze how both the quality of KMS (Knowledge Management System) and its organizational factors have effect on the utilization and user satisfaction in the defense sector. This study has verified the effects and identified the main factors affecting KMS performance measures. The nature of KMS quality and its organizational characteristics were deduced from previous research results, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on 250 KMS users in the defense sector on the performance of KMS based on the time spent on KMS and the overall satisfaction through which the hypothesis was verified. This study has made several contributions in the fact that it had provided the opportunity to analyze which factors have impact on knowledge management performance in the defense sector and the utilization and users' satisfaction of KMS reflecting the viewpoint of the organizational characteristics of the military, while studying the factors which can affect the performance for knowledge management.

지식공유 의도와 지식관리시스템의 사용 (Does Knowledge-sharing Intent Matter in the Use of Knowledge Management Systems?)

  • One of the major goals of using knowledge management systems(KMS) is the sharing of knowledge. The intent of an individual to share his/her knowledge plays a crucial role in sharing quality knowledge in corporations. However, there is little research that addresses this relationship between the intent to share and the use of KMS both from a holistic perspective and with empirical data analyses. To understand major factors that affect both knowledge sharing intent and the use of KMS, we conducted a field study from eight companies in four different industries which had been using KMS for at least a year. Using confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation modeling techniques, we have analyzed the relationships among top management support, trust among peers, trust in the organizational hierarchy, incentives and rewards, knowledge-sharing intent, KMS quality, knowledge quality, and the use of KMS. The research results show that top management support and trust between peers enhance the intent of sharing knowledge. We also found that top management support, knowledge-sharing intent, incentives and rewards, and the quality of knowledge have positive relationships with the use of KMS.

  • 본 연구에서는 KMS의 지속적 사용에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하기 위해 KMS 품질, 지각된 사용용이성과 지각된 유용성, 태도 및 KMS의 지속적 사용 간의 구조적 관계를 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 경찰공무원들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 실증분석을 시도하였다. 가설검증 결과, 외부요인인 KMS 품질은 지각된 사용 용이성과 지각된 유용성에 유의미한 긍정적 영향을 미치고, 지각된 사용 용이성은 지각된 유용성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 그리고 KMS에 대한 사용자의 지각된 사용 용이성과 지각된 유용성 모두 KMS 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 태도요인을 매개로 KMS 사용행위에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 KMS의 지속적인 수용과정을 설명하고, 그 함의를 제시하였다.

고객센터 지식관리시스템 재구축 성공과 활용에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 탐색적 연구: K 보험사 사례를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study on the Factors Affecting the Success and Utilization of Reestablished Knowledge Management Systems in a Customer Center: Case of K Life Insurance)

  • Knowledge, as a source of firm's competitive edges, has been drawing attention, while numerous enterprises are investing huge amount of assets to foster the right environments for executing knowledge management (KM). As a practical way of such KM, knowledge management systems (KMS) support the creation, diffusion, and utilization of knowledge, which are the tools for practicing such management style. Recently, the customer centers which make the closest contact with the customers are being concerned about the establishment of KMS. Considering the characteristics of real-time problem solving in customer centers during the consultation with the customers, the importance of KMS is paramount to the centers. This study analyzes major factors influencing the success and utilization of the customer center KMS's reestablishment, as an exploratory case study of the reestablishment of KMS in the customer center of K insurance company. First, the characteristic differences between the customer center's KMS and the traditional KMS are discussed, and the triangulation technique is applied to secure objectivity of this case study's findings. Major results of the case study state that, for the success of KMS and improvement of utilization, the followings should be considered preferentially: excellent system quality (accessibility, user convenience, easy searching, speed/menus); high information quality (accuracy, usefulness, timeliness, task-relevance, diversity, degree of specification); appropriate operation strategy and process for the utilization of system (education, training opportunity, appropriate personnel, speed and procedure of approval, compensation/evaluation); and change management via the support from the CEO's level (concern and participation of CEO, will to propel the project, investment, advertisement, etc.). This study provides practical suggestions with respect to factors which should be more carefully dealt with, since still many customer centers have hard time establishing and operating KMS due to lack of previous studies.

  • 지식관리시스템(KMS)이 조직 내에서 확산되게 됨에 따라 효과적 활용방안에 대한 관심도 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연구조직을 대상으로 시스템 지식 품질, 조직지원, 개인특성이 KMS의 성공에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구를 시행하였다. 실증연구의 결과는 시스템 사용, 사용자 만족, 유용성 지각 등으로 측정된 KMS의 성공에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수로는 KMS의 시스템 품질(system quality)인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 시스템의 사용자들이 유용성을 인식하고 만족스럽게 사용하기 위해서는 시스템이 사용자들에게 편리하게 활용할 수 있도록 잘 설계되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이다. 또한 KMS성공요인들 중에는 사용자 만족과 유용성 지각이 시스템 사용의 선행요인이라는 것도 밝혀지고 있다. 끝으로 사용자의 개인적 요인인 조직기반 자기존중감이 독립변수인 영향요인과 종속변수인 KMS의 성공 간에 조절역할을 하는 것도 구명되고 있다. 이 연구는 연구조직에서는 지식관리시스템의 활용빈도를 높이기 위해서는 시스템의 사용이 연구자 친화적으로 설계, 운용되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이라는 시사점을 주고 있다.

지식경영시스템의 사용자 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인: 실행공동체 특성요인을 중심으로 (The Factors Affecting the Performance of Knowledge Management Systems: Focused on the Quality of Community-of-Practice)

  • In order to manage organizational knowledge efficiently, Knowledge Management System(KMS) is considered as mandatory. This study aims at developing a KMS performance model to predict user satisfaction as well as KMS usage, considering the unique features of KMS. By analyzing 261 surveys with LISREL, we found that community of practice(CoP) characteristics - participation and interactivity among users - significantly affects KMS user satisfaction. This implies that the development of KMS should focus on facilitating users' interactivity and participations such as CoP activity, which differs from the general information system context. We also found that KMS usage is influenced by CoP interactivity, not by CoP participation, and that KMS usage as well as user satisfaction leads to user performance. Interpretations and implications of the findings are discussed.
