  • KINITI collects a wide variety of information resources such as serials, monographs, reports, microfilms/fiches etc. in the field of science, technology, and industry. This is an overview of KINITI-LIS(Library Information System). KINITI-LIS has been developed using IBM 3090/150 E by KINITI staffs. Subsystems of KINITI-LIS are as follows ; acquisition system, cataloging system, retrieval system, circulation system, serials control system.

  • This paper describes the organization and the file structure of KINITI-LIS that is the Library Information System developed by KINITI. KINIT-LIS consists of five subsystems that are aquisition system, cataloging system, retrieval system, circulation system and serials control system, and the primary structure of underlying files is VSAM.

  • KINITI developed integrated client/server-based library automation system. This system is a part of project which is implementation of national industry & technology information distribution system. This paper describes history and characteristics of KINITI's library automation system. And It reviews briefly several functions and characteristics of sub-systems which consist of new integrated library automation system.
