  • The purpose of this study was to analyze domestic research trends of social learning in higher education, and find out educational implications with regard to the effectiveness of social learning. The 63 articles on social learning were finally analyzed, which were published in KCI journals. The results are as follows: Firstly, in respect of research contents, the research area of utilization and the survey methods were most frequently used in those studies. Secondly, as to the use of SNS, the analyzed studies were centralized on Facebook and Formal Structured Learning. Thirdly, as for the effectiveness of SNS, the experimental studies showed that social learning has an effective impact on the learning outcomes, learning processes, and learners' characteristics. In addition, survey studies most frequently set the independent variables as learners' characteristics and the dependent variables as participation, satisfaction, and academic achievement. This research has a significance in terms of verifying the educational implications of social learning, and providing the preliminary data to facilitate the performance for the effective social learning.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends of model and modeling-related research in science education from 1989 to 2016 in Korea. Eighty-five (85) models and modeling-related journal articles were extracted from the KCI-listed journals and analyzed according to the criteria such as participants, research fields, research design, methods, data collection and elements of metamodeling knowledge. According to research participants, three out of four (3/4) were studied for students and the rest were for teachers. More than half of the studies for students were conducted with middle and high school students. The research fields of models and modeling-related researches in science education were comprised of earth science, chemistry, biology science, physics and science course. With regards to research design, the highest type is qualitative research and followed by hybrid research and quantitative research. According to research methods, the most numerous researches that were analyzed was the effectiveness of program, which was a developed model and modeling-related research. The analysis from the elements of the metamodeling knowledge showed most of model and modeling-related research utilized for the change of scientific concept or understanding.

  • This study was conducted to identify trends and knowledge structures associated with recent trends in Korean tourism from 2010 to 2015 using keyword data. To accomplish this, we constructed a network using keywords extracted from KCI journals. We then made a matrix describing the relationships between rows as papers and columns as keywords. A keyword network showed the connectivity of papers that have included one or more of the same keywords. Major keywords were then extracted using the cosine similarity between co-occurring keywords and components were analyzed to understand research trends and knowledge structure. The results revealed that subjects of tourism research have changed rapidly and variously. A few topics related to 'organization-employee' were major trends for several years, but intrinsic and extrinsic factors have been further subdivided and employees of specific fields have been targeted as subjects of research. Component analysis is useful for analyzing concrete research topics and the relationships between them. The results of this study will be useful for researchers attempting to identify new topics.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify trends and potential themes of research on consumption of children and adolescents for 20 years by analyzing keywords. The keywords of 869 studies on consumption of children and adolescents published in journals listed in Korean Citation Index were analyzed using text mining techniques. The most frequent keywords were found in the order of youth, youth consumers, consumer education, conspicuous consumption, consumption behavior, and character. As a result of analyzing the frequency of keywords by dividing into five-year periods, it was confirmed that the frequency of consumer education was significantly higher betwn 2006 and 2010. Research on ethical consumption has been active since 2011, and research has been conducted on various topics instead of without a prominent keyword during the most recent 5-year period. Looking at the keywords based on the TF-IDF, the keywords related to the environment and the Internet were the main keywords between 2001 and 2005. From 2006 to 2010, the TF-IDF values of media use, advertisement education, and Internet items were high. From 2011 to 2015, fair trade, green growth, green consumption, North Korean defector youths, social media, and from 2016 to 2020, text mining, sustainable development education, maker education, and the 2015 revised curriculum appeared as important themes. As a result of topic modeling, eight topics were derived: consumer education, mass media/peer culture, rational consumption, Hallyu/cultural industry, consumer competency, economic education, teaching and learning method, and eco-friendly/ethical consumption. As a result of network analysis, it was found that conspicuous consumption and consumer education are important topics in consumption research of children and adolescents.
