  • Intelligent Space is a space where many sensors and intelligent devices are distributed. Mobile robots exist in this space as physical agents, which provide human with services. To realize this, human and mobile robots have to approach each other as much as possible. Moreover, it is necessary for them to perform interactions naturally. It is desirable for a mobile robot to carry out human affinitive movement. In this research, a mobile robot is controlled by the Intelligent Space through its resources. The mobile robot is controlled to follow walking human as stably and precisely as possible. In order to follow a human, control law is derived from the assumption that a human and a mobile robot are connected with a virtual spring model. Input velocity to a mobile robot is generated on the basis of the elastic force from the virtual spring in this model. And its performance is verified by the computer simulation and the experiment.

  • A sort sequence $S_n$ is sequence of all unordered pairs of indices in $I_n$={1,2,…n}. With a sort sequence $S_n$ = ($s_1,S_2,...,S_{\frac{n}{2}}$),one can associate a predictive sorting algorithm A($S_n$). An execution of the a1gorithm performs pairwise comparisons of elements in the input set X in the order defined by the sort sequence $S_n$ except that the comparisons whose outcomes can be inferred from the results of the preceding comparisons are not performed. A sort sequence is said to be extremal if it maximizes a given objective function. First we consider the extremal sort sequences with respect to the objective function $\omega$($S_n$) - the expected number of tractive predictions in $S_n$. We study $\omega$-extremal sort sequences in terms of their prediction vectors. Then we consider the objective function $\Omega$($S_n$) - the minimum number of active predictions in $S_n$ over all input orderings.

  • This study provides basic data for the cost operating strategy of forest welfare infra facilities. We use the Price-Sensitivity Measurement technique (PSM) for a forest welfare infra facility (healing forest, wood camping, forest leisure sport, etc.). In addition, we conduct a survey in the four target locations (Kyung-gi, Kyung-sang, Chung-cheong, and Jeolla) and receive answer from 390. The results show that higher the price of present infra facilities, higher the price sensibility. The forest welfare infra facilities we include are healing forest 1,894 won, wood camping 5,625 won, mtb park 9,530 won, mountain horseback riding 14,556 won, paragliding 20,252 won, mountain ski 3,075won. However, we investigate zip-lines at lower than current price levels.

  • We report on a case of thrombosis of the left common iliac artery following anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) of L4-5 in a 79-year-old man with no previous medical problems, including peripheral vascular disease. After completing the ALIF procedure, the surgeon could not feel the pulsation of the left dorsalis pedis artery, and the oxygen saturation ($SaO_2$) had fallen below 90% from pulse oxymetry on the left great toe. Thrombectomy was successfully performed after confirming the thrombus in the left common iliac artery using Computed Tomography (CT) angiography. Thrombosis of the common iliac artery is very rare following ALIF. However, delayed diagnosis can lead to disastrous outcome. Although elderly patients have no cardio-vascular disease or vessel calcification in pre-op evaluation, the possibility of a complication involving L4-5 should be considered.

  • In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the hyponormality of the block Toeplitz operators $T_{\Phi}$, where ${\Phi}$ = $F+G^*$, F(z), G(z) are some matrix valued polynomials on the vector valued Bergman space $L^2_a(\mathbb{D},\mathbb{C}^n)$. We also show some necessary conditions for the hyponormality of $T_{F+G^*}$ with $F+G^*{\in}h^{\infty}{\otimes}M_{n{\times}n}$ on $L^2_a(\mathbb{D},\mathbb{C}^n)$.

  • Workflow composition and management is a crucial part of Component Based Development (CBD). Workflows can be composed reusing existing workflows to improve efficiency during the various stages of software development process. Reusability of software process activities is improved by using existing workflows. This paper proposes a Workflow Composition Engine that generates workflow which consists of existing process activities and describes design of The Workflow Composition Engine. A prototype of the Workflow Composition Engine implemented is described.

  • The ground amorphous powder was consolidated into a dense sintered body with a typical ultrafine $Al_2O_3-GdAlO_3$ eutectic structure by spark plasma sintering (SPS). Sintered material with ultrafine and dense eutectic structure was obtained by an appropriate combination of rapid quenching and SPS at lower temperature and more quickly than by conventional sintering. The $Al_2O_3$-based rare earth eutectic ceramics for solar cell emitters are believed to have a higher efficiency and the $Al_2O_3$ based eutectic ceramics with ultrafine grains will be one of the promising materials showing excellent selective emitter characteristics.

  • A magnetic field sensor is fabricated with superconducting ceramics system. The sensor at liquid nitrogen temperature shows the increase in electrical resistance by applying magnetic field. Actually, the voltage drop across the sensor is changed from zero to a value more than $100{\mu}V$ by the applied magnetic field. The change in electrical resistance depends on magnetic field. The sensitivity of this sensor is 2.9 ohm/T. The increase in electrical resistance by the magnetic field is ascribed to a modification of the Josephson junctions due to the penetrating magnetic flux into the superconducting material.

  • An algorithm has been developed to determine changes in surface topography on asperity level. The software stitches small but detailed images together to create one large image. If such an image is made before and after an experiment, their difference shows a direct 3D view of the changes in micro-geometry, rather than a change in surface parameters. The algorithm is described in detail and illustrated using artificial as well as real surfaces.

  • This paper presents a new technique to generate the 1-bit signal by decoding Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal to a binary file before programming onto the ROM. Since each PWM signal requires only 1-bit digital signal, PWM signal and other forms of digital signal related to multi-bit can be simply generated. The results demonstrate that using this new technique to generate the PWM signal can simplify the process and hardware complication. Moreover, the signal's data and frequency can be easily modified by programming the data onto the ROM and using the counter, respectively, which can reduce the size of the circuit and make the PCB easier.
