  • Based on the K-UAM roadmap, this study was conducted to select major education and training subjects necessary for the composition of the initial UAM pilot education and training curriculum. Currently, UAM aircraft have similar characteristics to rotorcraft that can take off and land vertically around VTOL functions. Therefore, in this study, the Rotary Wing Pilot Training Curriculum of the Army Aviation School, which represents Rotary Wing Flight Education, was selected as a comparative group, and education and training subjects for initial UAM pilot training were selected. First, a hierarchical structure for the AHP survey was designed based on the Army's rotorcraft pilot education and training subjects, and the AHP survey was conducted by selecting experts from each class. If the education and training subjects given as priorities through AHP analysis are applied to initial UAM pilot training, it is expected to contribute to the effect of education and training and ultimately to the safe operation of UAM.

  • In this paper, locations of vertiports were selected and evaluated to operate urban air mobility (UAM) in the Seoul metropolitan area. Demand data were analyzed using the data from the survey of commuting population and were marked on a map using MATLAB. To cluster the data, the K-means algorithm function built in MATLAB was used to identify the center of the cluster to as the location of vertiports, and using the silhouette technique, the accuracy and reliability of the clustering were evaluated. The locations of the selected vertiports were also identified using satellite maps to ensure that the locations of the selected vertiports were suitable for the actual vertiport location, and, if the location was not appropriate, final vertiports were selected through the repositioning process.

  • Based on the K-UAM roadmap, this study evaluated the safety for the initial UAM demonstration project and operation. Research in each field is underway for early settlement of UAM, but the progress of research is showing limitations without clear regulations and lack of operational experience. This study aims to find a way for UAM to operate in reality, and for this purpose, the defense system for evaluating the safety of civil aviation was applied as SMS. In addition, the technical elements of the maneuvering of UAM aircraft were reviewed from a flight perspective. As a result, a unexpected problem was derived in the take-off and landing stage of the current airspace, flight corridor, and operation stage. Based on this, alternatives were derived and suggested to successfully complete the UAM demonstration project by FOSA which is Risk assessment Tool. Therefore, if the direction of UAM research is set by citing the results of this study, it is expected to contribute to the safe operation of UAM.

  • In this study, in order to analyze the preference for UAM of public transportation users following the introduction of urban air transportation(UAM), A preference consciousness(SP) survey was conducted on 840 users of Incheon public transportation using the Incheon International Airport-Incheon Gil Hospital route, which is the urban air traffic(UAM) demonstration route section. In addition, the means selection model was estimated based on the results of conducting a preference consciousness (SP) survey. As a result of analyzing the time value for travel using the established means selection model, it was found to be 56,428 won/hour, As a result of verifying the elasticity of travel cost (won), in-vehicle time (minutes), and out-of-vehicle time (minutes) in the model, the effect on the urban air traffic (UAM) share in this model was found that travel cost (won), in-vehicle time (minutes), and out-of-vehicle time (minutes) were in order, and the effect was greater when the travel cost (won) decreased than when it increased.

  • K-UAM will be commercialized through maturity after 2035. Since the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) corridor will be used vertically separating the existing helicopter corridor, the corridor usage is expected to increase. Therefore, a system for monitoring corridors is also needed. In recent years, object detection algorithms have developed significantly. Object detection algorithms are largely divided into one-stage model and two-stage model. In real-time detection, the two-stage model is not suitable for being too slow. One-stage models also had problems with accuracy, but they have improved performance through version upgrades. Among them, YOLO-V5 improved small image object detection performance through Mosaic. Therefore, YOLO-V5 is the most suitable algorithm for systems that require real-time monitoring of wide corridors. Therefore, this paper trains YOLO-V5 and analyzes whether it is ultimately suitable for corridor monitoring.K-uam will be commercialized through maturity after 2035.

  • An important challenge in commercialization of eVTOL PAV is to reduce noise for urban air mobility (UAM) operation. Therefore, in this paper, noise priority routes were created to minimize the number of people affected by noise using aviation environmental design tool (AEDT) software and population distribution data for administrative districts, and noise analyses during operation were performed. Also, it was analyzed how much noise exposure could be reduced compared to the number of people affected by noise in the shortest route. Considering that the eVTOL PAV developers do not provide data, the analysis was conducted using a helicopter model. As a result, it was shown that the noise priority route that minimized the amount of noise exposure was more efficient than other routes.
