  • 서비스 산업의 급격한 발전과 더불어 최상의 서비스를 제공하기 위한 기업 간의 서비스 경쟁 심화와 고객의 욕구변화에 의해 여러 직종에서 근로자들에게 감정노동을 요구하고 있다. 감정노동은 실제 자신이 느끼는 감정과는 상관없이 직무를 행해야 하는 감정적 노동으로 은행원, 승무원, 상담원 등이 대표적인 종사자로 알려져 있다. 감정노동은 이러한 서비스업에 국한되지 않고 교사 등 사람과 대면하는 모든 부류에 포함된다고 하여도 과언이 아니다. 감정노동은 지극히 주관적이고 개인적인 경험인 '감정'에 의해 행해지는 직무 활동으로 개개인의 특성에 따라 감정노동의 정도도 다를 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 고객센터 상담사들을 대상으로 인구통계적 특성에 따른 집단간에 감정노동의 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다.

Diagnoses of Abiotic Stress in Cucumber Plant with Non-destructive Physiological Instruments

  • This paper describes method to diagnose abiotic stresses such ad low root temperature, low light intensity and high salinity in cucumber plants with several physiological instruments. The stresses could be detected by measuring and analyzing the differences in chlorophyll content, temperature difference between leaf and atmosphere and light absorptance at wavelengths of 480, 560, 710, 1420 and 1650nm. It was concluded that the stresses could be first diagnosed from the 3rd to 10th day after treatment and the overall accuracy of diagnosis was estimated between 25 and 75%. near-infrared spectrometer showed better and earlier detection than the other instruments investigated.

Rao-Wald Test for Variance Ratios of a General Linear Model

  • In this paper we propose a method to test $\textit{H}$:$\rho_i$=$\gamma_i$ for 1$\leq$$\textit{i}$$\leq$$\ell$ against $\textit{K}$:$\rho_i$$\neq$$\gamma_i$ for some iin k-variance component random or mixed linear model where $\rho$i denotes the ratio of the i-th variance component to the error variance and $\ell$$\leq$K. The test which we call Rao-Wald test is exact and does not depend upon nuisance parameters. From a numerical study of the power performance of the test of the interaction effect for the case of a two-way random model Rao-Wald test was seen to be quite comparable to the locally best invariant (LBI) test when the nuisance parameters of the LBI test are assumed known. When the nuisance parameters of the LBI test are replaced by maximum likelihood estimators Rao-Wald test outperformed the LBI test.

The System of Waste Home Appliances Recycling in Taiwan

  • The waste home appliances including television sets, refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners have increasingly received environmental concerns in Taiwan. In light of the enforcement of Waste Disposal Act (WDA), the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) has certified 60 recycling/storage facilities and given permission for qualified companies to build six treatment plants around the island. Now the recycling and well treatment home appliances are estimated to be 3,342,369 units until May 31, 2001. This paper describes the present status of waste home appliance recycle and its treatment in Taiwan. The principle guidelines and policies regarding recycling, resource recovery and environmental concerns are presented.

  • This article is dedicated to my colleague and friend Professor Soon-Kil Hong, Ph.D, who is the famous President of the Korean Association of Air and Space Law and distinguished teacher at the prestigious Hankuk Aviation University. I had the honour and pleasure to teach there a few years ago - upon his gracious invitation. Professor Soon-Kil Hong has made a long, outstanding and impressive career in aviation and space activities, both from a practitioners and academic perspective. That is why I have tried to find a subject which addresses these facets of his personality although this humble article cannot do justice to the great merits of Professor Soon-Kil Hong. This article discusses the liability aspects for damages and injuries to passengers on suborbital flights, by examining: 1. Recent developments regarding space tourism 2.   • The effects of nonequilibrium condensation on the shock boundary layer interaction over a transonic bump model were investigated experimentally and numerically. An experiment was conducted using a supersonic indraft wind tunnel. A droplet growth equation was incorporated into two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equation systems. Computations were carried out using a third-order MUSCL type TVD finite-difference scheme with a second-order fractional time step. Computation compared with the experimental results. Nonequilibirum condensation suppressed the boundary layer separation and the pressure fluctuations due to the shock boundary layer interaction. Especially the nonequilbrium condensation was helpful to suppress the high frequency components of the pressure fluctuations.

  • The purpose of this study were to design and develop the user centered desk which considered children with cebral palsy in Korea. The developing process of the desk were performed the convergence study of the University Department of the Social Welfare and the Living Furniture Design. First of all, the 2 students and their professor of the Department of Social Welfare analyzed the literature, observed the children with cebral palsy and the needs survey of the service providers of a Welfare Center for children with cebral palsy. All of the information gathered were provided for the Department of the living Furniture Design. Second, the 2 students and their professor of the Department the Living Furniture Design proceeded the design concept, mocked up the desk for the children with cebral palsy. This was the user centered desk which considered of the features of children with cebral palsy body. Based on the results, the convergence study implications were discussed.

Estimation of Monthly Evapotranspiration using NOAA/AVHRR Satellite Images

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate monthly evapotranspiration (ET) using normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) obtained from NOAA/AVHRR data sets. Actual evapotranspiration was evaluated by the complementary relationship (Morton, 1978, Brutsaert and Stricker, 1979), and monthly NDVI was obtained by maximum value composite method from daily NDVI images in the Korean peninsula for the year 2001. The monthly actual ETs for each land cover were compared with the monthly NDVIs to determine relationships between actual ET and NDVI for each land cover category. There was a high correlation between monthly NDVI and monthly averaged actual ET. This study presents an alternative approach for land surface evapotranspiration based on remote sensing techniques.
