  • Throughout the history of fashion and fashion collections, fashion design has been influenced by fine arts. Philosophy and concept of fine arts has been inspiration on the development of fashion design which brings on the close interrelation between fine arts and modern fashion. In order to analyze the affect of fine arts such as Pop art on fashion this study inquires into new perspective that considers different social contexts on the premise that acknowledges the essential difference between the genre of fine arts and design. This study researches the influence of Pop art which has been inspiration on fashion designers since the birth in the 1960s and often appears in recent fashion trends. In view of the results achieved in this study, Pop art-inspired fashion does not concern the aesthetic contemplation of everyday life in western society anonymously as in Pop art but deals with pop art as new ideas in a way that adopts images randomly from designer's convenience which is equivalent to the conception of pastiche. In addition, it was inferred that Peter Pan syndrome exert influence as a mental process and Kidult trend operate on Pop art-inspired fashion as a social phenomenon. On the basis of the theoretical background, the formative features in Pop art-inspired fashion from Spring/Summer 2000 to Spring/Summer 2004 collection has been analyzed. The results fall on the following four categories; those are the use of Pop color which resembles the Hard-edge technique in Pop art, direct appropriation of Pop art such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichitenstein's works on clothes and accessories, adaptation of Pop art's subject using brand names of mass products or icons in mass culture as design motives, and application of representation method in Pop art such as Andy Warhol's silk screen techniques or Tom Wesselman's composition of pictures.

  • 1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-oleoyl glycerol (POO) and 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-palmitoyl glycerol (POP) were enriched from palm stearin using an acetone fractionation process. Response surface methodology was employed to optimize the purity of POO ($Y_1$, %) and POP ($Y_2$, %) along with POO+POP content ($Y_3$, g) based on independent variables such as fractionation temperature ($X_1$, 25, 30, and $35^{\circ}C$) and the ratio of palm stearin to acetone ($X_2$, 1:3, 1:6 and 1:9, w/v). Fractionation conditions were optimized to maximize $Y_1$, $Y_2$, and $Y_3$, in which fractionation temperature was $29.3^{\circ}C$ with a 1:5.7 acetone ratio. With such parameters, 60.9% of POP and 23.8% of POO purity were expected with a 75% yield (3.0 g) of POO and POP.

The data was collected from 217 respondents in their 20s and 30s and then subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, oneway ANOVA and regression analysis using SPSS Statistics. The results of the oneway ANOVA test indicated that the 'Pop-up store of alliance with different kinds of industries' is the most effective type for increasing brand preference and brand recognition amongst consumers. Some further insights can be made from the regression analysis results. There are differences between pop-up store formats in terms of the cognitive factors influencing brand attitude and behavioral intention. Moreover, there are differences between pop-up store formats in terms of brand attitude factors influencing behavioral intention. Through the results of this study, fashion companies can determine the best type of pop-up store to open depending on their aims. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights to fashion marketers, helping them to determine the appropriate factors to consider when planning fashion pop-up stores. Academically, this paper contributes to expanding the range of research on fashion pop-up retail by studying consumer experiences of different pop-up store types.

  • This study is for finding out the relationship between reactions on POP per consumer purchase trends and major factor for making final purchasing decisions after being exposed to POP from large supermarkets. The following results were obtained after the research. First, consumers displayed higher reaction scores on End-Cap in general among POP advertisements. The factors for making final purchase decision are in the order of function > price > brand for household electrical goods, price > design > function for sundry goods and design > price > function for clothing (including bedding). Second, the results of analyzing the differences based on age on impulsive purchase showed that the lower the age the higher the tendency. Unplanned purchase trend also showed higher when younger. The results of this study showed that there are discrepancies in the theory related with existing POP advertisements, that is, the theory that impulsive purchasers have higher POP responses.

  • Recently K-Pop gained worldwide sensational popularity, no longer limited to the domestic pop music scene. One of the main causes can be that K-Pop mostly are "Hook Song" which has the "hook effect": a certain melody or/and rhythm is repeated up to 70 times in one song so that it hooks the ear of the listener. Also, visual effects by K-Pop dance group are supposed to contribute to gaining the popularity. In this paper, we propose a method which traces the changes of preference for Korean pop music according to the passing of time and investigates the causes using acoustic signal analysis. For this, experiments in acoustic signal analysis are performed on Korean pop music of from popular female singers in 1960s to those as of this date. Experimental results by applying acoustic signal processing techniques show that the periods discrimination is possible based on scientific evidences. Also, quantitative, objective and numerical data based on acoustic signal processing techniques are extracted compared with the pre-existing methods such as subjective and statistical data.
