Development of the Driving Simulator for Automated Guideway Transit using Virtual Reality Technology (가상현실을 이용한 경량전철 주행시뮬레이터 개발)

  • In this paper, we introduced a simulator to visualize the driving scenery of newly developed train called the K-AGT(Korea Automated Guideway Transit). The simulator consists of mainly two parts; control system and display system. In the control system, user can control the driving speed of the K-AGT, the driving environment(day and night), the operation of the train door and the screen door and user's views(driver's view, left window view, right window view, passenger's view). In the display system, immersive driving scenery generated by stereoscopic head mount display system and 3 channel PDP display system are displayed. We are expect to utilize the system to share the idea among customer, designer and constructor and verify the operating condition of the K-AGT intuitively.

  • AGT system is a kind of light railway train. AGT system use of concrete track and rubber tire, so it can be reduce the noise and vibration, compare to the normal train system. And, the dynamic responses of normal bridge are influenced by the dynamic characteristics of bridge, the speed of vehicle and the surface roughness of railway. But the AGT system bridge is influenced not only the above facts but also the guiderail unevenness, because, AGT vehicle steered by guiderail. So, in this study, optimized service condition is suggested for the design and operation of AGT system, by the means of experimental study. The experiments are executed for PSC bridge with length of 30m, at the AGT test line in Kyongsan. The test results are compared and investigated according to the prominence. In the test result, the guiderail prominence influenced on the dynamic response of bridge. It shows a increase as compared with no guiderail prominence in the dynamic response value acceleration, displacement, stain.

Blood Pressure in Relation to α-Adducin, Angiotensinogen, ACE Gene Polymorphisms and Sodium Intake in Korean Female Elderly Subjects (한국 여성 노인에서 α -Adducin, Angiotensinogen, ACE 유전자다형성 및 나트륨 섭취수준에 따른 혈압의 비교)

  • Gene polymorphisms that are associated with sodium homeostasis in the body, such as $\alpha-adducin$ (ADDI, Gly460Trp), angiotensinogen (AGT, Met235Thr), and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE, Ins/Del) may increase the risk for the development of hypertension. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the relationship between the singular and combined effects of ADD1, AGT, ACE genotypes, and blood pressure in elderly population. Moreover, we examined the interaction of sodium intake and polymorphisms of aforementioned genes and their effects on blood pressure. Among one hundred and nine female subjects, aged 60 and over (mean 75.9 yr), the major alleles for ADD1, AGT, and ACE polymorphisms in the studied population were Gly (66.1%), Thr (64.2%), Ins (83.5%), respectively. Analysis on the combined effects of genetic variation showed that subjects who were both ADD1 Trp/Trp and ACE Del/Del homozygotes had significantly higher systolic blood pressure (p=0.01). Similarly, ACE Del/Del homozygotes who had AGT Met allele had significantly higher diastolic blood pressure (p<0.001). However, in single-gene analyses, no association was found between any specific genotype and blood pressure. In subjects with low sodium intake, ADD1 Trp/Trp homozygotes had significantly higher systolic blood pressure than subjects who had ADD1 Gly allele (138 mmHg vs. 127 mmHg, p=0.03). There was no difference in blood pressure between ADD1 Trp/Trp and ADD1 Gly/Gly or Gly/Trp, in subjects with high sodium intake. In summary, this study shows that interactions between the ADD1, AGT and ACE genes influence systolic and diastolic blood pressure in elderly subjects, and dietary sodium intake can modulate the effects of ADD1 Gly460Trp polymorphisms on systolic blood pres sure.

Effect of Processing Methods on the Chemical Composition of Panax ginseng Leaf Tea (고려인삼엽차의 제조방법에 따른 화학성분 조성)

  • Panax ginseng leaves are produced as the by-product when Panax ginseng roots were harvested. The Panax ginseng leaves was examed for the applicable possibility as the functional food. In this study, the changes in chemical composition of Panax ginseng leaves was examed by three methods as the hot-air dried(DRT), the aged tea(AGT) and the heat processed tea(HPT). The general composition of Panax ginseng leaves tea was shown as similar results in 3 different process methods. The level of the crude lipid and reducing sugar concentration were decreased slightly in HPT. The free sugar content of DRT was higher than the HPT and AGT. The existence of the higher content of free sugar composition in order are sucrose, fructose and glucose. The concentration of serine was the highest in the free amino acids, which were shown from 309.6 mg% to 336.6 mg%. The contents of free amino acid in Panax ginseng leaves made by DRT was higher than by AGT and HPT. The concentration of Ca was shown as the highest content among the minerals and was 2,115 mg%. The contents of minerals were existed in order of Ca, K, Mg, P, Na, Mn, Fe, Zn and Cu. But there were hardly any remarkable differences of mineral concentrations of Panax ginseng leaves tea made by different processing methods. The concentration of water soluble solid of Panax ginseng leaves tea processed by HPT was higher than by DRT and AGT. The concentration of ascorbic acid was shown the highest value of 424.4mg% in HPT. There was no differences in the fatty acid composition according to their processing methods. The concentration of palmitic acid was higher than that of other fatty acid. The order of fatty acid concentration were palmitic aicd, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, oleic acid and stearic acid, abundantly. As a conclusion, HPT was shown as the best process method for the production of Panax ginseng leaves tea.

  • This paper presents an evaluation method that considers the weights of many characteristics of a public transportation system; this method facilitates the selection of suitable advanced transit system in a transportation investment plan. The method sets up twelve evaluation items separated by the following influence factors: users, community, government and operators. It then evaluates the advanced transportation system by analyzing the weights. For an empirical analysis, the urban advanced transportation systems for the main transit of small and medium sized cities were evaluated using the AHP method. The result revealed that the weight order is safety, rapidity and punctuality, convenience, and regional activation, and the priority order is steel wheel-type AGT, LIM, and rubber wheel-type AGT.

Radio coverage prediction of RF-CBTC system under transmission power 10mW/MHz at K-AGT test line (경전철시험선에서 송신전력 10mW/MHz에 대한 열차제어용 무선시스템의 전파도달범위 예측)

  • Korea Railroad Research Institute has developed the driverless rubber-tired K-AGT (Korean-Automated Guideway Transit) system from 1999 to 2005 and has done its performance and reliability tests on the test line at Gyeongsan-city. Radio Frequency Communication-Based Train Control system of K-AGT, which employed Advanced Automated Train Control scheme, detects train position using the radio propagation delay between wayside and vehicle radio equipment. In this paper, we investigate whether the transmission power of radio system can be reduced to the permitted level announced by the Ministry of Information and Communication for license-free ISM(Industrial Scientific Medical) frequency bands. We first determine radio propagation model, using the measured data at test line, and perform simulation for radio coverage prediction. From the simulation results, we identify that the radio system operated with reduced power can provide good link quality in total test line.

  • This paper described the development of technology for LRT (Light Rail Transit) power system, which are sponsored by MOCT and supervised by KRRI. Especially, manufacture, interface between components and composition for DC Switchgear are focused. Most main components for DC switchgear(Protective Relay, HSCB, DS) are made by own. Also the type test report of international testing laboratory about the DC Switchgear based on IEC regulations is introduced. Finally the product will be proved based on field test.

  • The rubber type AGT system is operated by driverless that signaling is CBTC type. The system function is acomplished exactly to obtain the safety and reliability of system and the system is designed to minimize risk. In order to design the system, the functional analysis is performed. Recently functional analysis is performed by RDD-100 which is used and verified by aerospace, military, etc. Therefore The design tool RDD-100 is used to perform functional analysis in AGT system development project.

Association Analysis of the Essential Hypertension Susceptibility Genes in Adolescents: Kangwha Study (청소년 고혈압 관련 유전자의 연관성 분석: Kangwha Study)

  • Objectives : In this study we examined the association between the genetic markers ACE (A-240T, C-93T, I/D, A2350G), AGT (M235T), AT1R (A1166C), CYP11B2 (T344C, V386A), REN (G2646A), ADRB2 (G46A, C79G, T47C, T1641), GNB3 (C825T) and ADD1 (G460W) and the presence of essential hypertension in adolescents. Methods : The Kangwha Study is an 18-year prospective study that is aimed at elucidating the determinants of the blood pressure level from childhood to early adulthood. For this study, we constructed a case-control dataset of size of 277 and 40 family trios data from the Kangwha Study. For this purpose, we perform a single locus-based case-control association study and a single locus-based TDT (transmission/disequilibrium test) study. Results : In the case-control study, the single locus-based association study indicated that the ADD1 (G460W) (p=0.0403), AGT (M235T) (p=0.0002), and REN (G2646A) (p=0.0101) markers were significantly associated with the risk of hypertension. These results were not confirmed on the TDT study. This study showed that genetic polymorphisms of the ADD1, AGT and REN genes might be related to the hypertension in Korean adolescents. Conclusions : This study provided useful information on genetics markers related to blood pressure. Further study will be needed to confirm the effect of the alpha adducin gene, the angiotensinogen gene and the renin gene on essential hypertension.
