본 연구의 목적은 다문화사회에서 지역 공공도서관이 제공하고 있는 다문화서비스의 운영 현황과 그에 따른 개선 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 국제기구의 다문화서비스에 대한 지침과 선언들을 기반으로 다문화서비스 항목을 설정하였다. 그리고 인천광역시 공공도서관을 사례로 다문화서비스를 분석하여 이를 토대로 지역공공도서관의 다문화서비스 개선 방안을 다문화서비스에 대한 인식 변화, 전문 인력 양성, 문화 간 이해 프로그램, 정보 접근성 등을 제시하였다.

The author have devised the main table of International Centesimal Classification(ICC). This is the second study of ICC. And so, this study intends to devise a new and reasonable form divisions for the ICC. This study analyses the 'standard subdivisions' of DDC and the 'general form divisions' of UDC and LCC, to investigate the problems included among them. And then, it devises the three tables of 'Internal form divisions, External form divisions, and Special form divisions' in two digit of arabic numerals.

This article presents the role of children's librarian in the age of information. Preparing the 21st century, there should have been to identify the humanities of health, independent, creative, and moral fact with educating children in future Korea. Children's library should service all the children to improve the information skill and technology, to creat a whole person with high order intellectual thinking skill for the consumer, the voter and the leader of the next generation. It has been identified that the children's librarian should playas a mediator of literacy and culture of children, a creating counselor of personality, a negotiator of recoginating all knowledge, and a leader of the information skill or communication skill in the children education at the 21st century.

본 연구는 일제강점기 대구부립도서관 건물의 변천과정에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 당시의 신문기사, 도서, 공문서, 관보, 잡지기사, 통계, 도서관의 공식 역사자료, 관련 연구 등을 광범위하게 수집하고 이들에 대해 비교 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 대구부립도서관에 관한 기존의 연구와 공식 역사자료들은 관련 자료의 서지정보와 원문정보의 부족으로 인해 대구부립도서관 조례 제정일, 최초 도서관 건물, 도서관 신축 건물의 착공일, 준공일, 개관일 등에서 여러 오류들을 가지고 있음을 발견하였다. 끝으로 본 연구는 일제강점기 대구지역의 도서관 역사에 대해 추가적인 연구들을 제언하였다.
