전기 유압식 좌심실 보조기에 있어서 현재 가장 큰 문제점 중의 하나로 지적되고 있는 것은 이완기에 좌심방의 혈액 유입상황을 고려하지 않은 과도한 밀판 당김 속도로 인해 생기는 좌심방의 함몰현상이다. 논문에서는 좌심방의 함몰현상을 구체적으로 정의하고, 좌심방의 함몰여부를 가늠하기 위해 외부에서 관측가능한 요소들과 좌심방의 상태와의 상관관계들을 고찰해 본 다음 이러한 함몰현상을 방지할 수 있도록 이완기 밀판 속도와 이동거리를 능동적으로 변화시키는 방식들을 구성하여 실험을 통해 그 효용성을 검증하였다.

Urban green spaces, as a means to mitigate social problems and environmental risks, are getting more attention in evaluating urban environment. The inequity of green space distribution is becoming a major issue in urban planning and management. This study investigated the characteristics of green space in 3 districts (Jung-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Seongdong-gu), that are composed of 46 administrative divisions in central Seoul, to analyze the environmental equity of urban green spaces. The correlations between the amount of green space, including the coverage of street trees, and the socioeconomic status of each administrative division were analyzed. To deduce the effects of plant coverage on the urban temperature regime, the relationship between the normalized difference of vegetation index (NDVI) and land surface temperature (LST) was analyzed. The research revealed that the mean NDVI of an administrative division was negatively correlated with the percentage of basic living recipients and disabled people. The LST of a division with low NDVI was higher due to the lack of green coverage. Such environmental inequities were closely related to residential building type, which was strongly affected by the economic status of residents. The LST of an apartment area was $2.0^{\circ}C$ lower than that of single-family houses and multi-housing areas. This is expected as the average NDVI of the apartment area was more than twice as high as the other environments considered in this study. The inequity can be exacerbated without urban planning which is deliberately designed to reduce it.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the most common iatrogenic complications induced by assisted reproductive technology. Hydrothorax develops in about 10 percent of patients with severe OHSS and it is usually associated with marked ascites. On the other hand, severe hydrothorax without marked ascites is uncommon, and its pathogenesis remains unclear. We recently experienced a case of severe unilateral hydrothorax with minimal ascites induced by quintuplet pregnancy following intrauterine insemination with controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. Severe hydrothorax was resolved after only conservative and symptomatic management without invasive procedure such as thoracentesis or paracentesis. We report this case with brief review of literature.

This study sets up nodal regions for shopping and leisure with 424 district units located in Seoul and examines the characteristics of the vertical structure and the regional system. According to the higher-order analysis result, the trip for leisure forms a greater part, and about each of the nodal regions of the first stratum, major spots for origin and destination are located in the center, and those spots are connected to adjacent district units located nearby. As the factor's eigenvalue is bigger, the spatial range gets greater, too, and is located in outsides. And in the third or higher strata, either linkage between Gangnam and Gangbuk or leapfrogging linkage according to the bipolar factors is distinctive. Linkage between nodal regions centering around Jongro-gu, Jung-gu, Gangnam-gu, or Yeoungdeungpo-gu is not distinct, and in particular, the nodal regions of Jongro Geumcheon are maintained as the upper strata being independent from other nodal regions from the second or higher strata.
