Since Confucius presentied 'zhong-yong' and Zi Si wrote Zhong-Yong (The Doctring of the Mean), specially since Zhu Xi edited Zhong-Yong as one of Si-Shu (The Four Books) and interpreted it, zhong-yong was not only recognized as the extreme of morality but also as a significant category of Confucianism. The purpose of this paper is to clarify how Jeong Yak-Yong criticized Zhu Xi's interpretation of zhong-yong, and furthermore, to search how Jung Yak-yong explain the zhong-yong by tree concepts of 'grasp', 'moral behavior', and 'habit'. Zhu Xi interpreted zong as a measured absolute middle of two-side and a non-launched original nature. Interpreted yong as a common truth. Therefore he interpreted zhong-yong as a common truth of neither excessive nor enough. Accordingly, Zhu Xi's zhong-yong can be understood as absolute zhong-yong without human's reflection and moral behavior. But Jeong Yak-Yong interpreted zhong as the state of a man's very hard-concentrate and grasp of situation, and interpreted yong as the state of a man's very hard-effort moral behavior and it's habit. Therefore he explained zhong-yong as a habit of moral behavior through grasp.

The medicine through I Ching(The Book of Changes, 易經) is a field of the medical science, which studies physiology, pathology and Yin-Yang philosophy. From ancient times so many scholars have studied I Ching and they are divided into two different school. one is the school of Image and Number(象數學派), the other is the school of reason(義理學派). Dasan Jung Yak-Yong(茶山 丁若鏞) is a distinguished scholar in the I-Ching study, and he had a unique opinion in the analysis about sentences of I Ching. He has done his best to make 'Image and Number(象數)' harmonize with reason(義理). I Ching is the book about changes, which includes everything like natural phenomena, human body and mind. So we can understand human physiology and pathology through I Ching.
Ma Gwa Hwe Tong, or 麻疹會通 is a general medicinal classic on measles which was an attempt to cope with the situation in the later Joseon Dynasty, when measles was prevailing all throughout the country. It was written in 1798 by Jung Yak Yong, who was a famous realist and a distinguished scholar, and in one of the chapters called Oh Gyun Pyun shows his thoughts. What he is trying to do through his writings, Ma Gwa Hwe Tong, was not reforming the current medicinal studies but to organize the classics on measles that he had access to with a system in order. The progressive thoughts shown in his other book, Eui-Ryung or 醫零, should be considered as his own thoughts only, and it is an overstatement to consider the book of Ma Gwa Hwe Tong to be his tryout in such thoughts.
Yak-yong Jung discussed technology for the first time in Korea, 195 years ago, in his [Ki-ye-lon](the Theory of Techne: 1802) in which he investigated the essence and the developmental aspect of technology and the ways to promote technology. As a man of the 19th century when the West was being transformed into an industrial society by the Industrial Revolution, Jung suggested various ways to reform his nation an agricultural society. Although they were not accepted by the Dynasty, consideration of the social and economic situation and the world history at that time shows that they were very innovative. This study aims at defining Jung's view of technology, centering around [Ki-ye-lon](the Theory of Techne), and discusses what the technological education should emphasize in the future, that is to say: mathematical and scientific principles, the utility of technology, its developmental aspect, technological policy.

OMiYakSung theory consists of various herbs that contain at least one or more of the five flavors. This theory has been used to prevent human diseases and enhance the immune system. The main objective of the present study was to investigate efficacy differences and changes in ingredients of blended and single herb extracts based on OMiYakSung theory. We selected three herbs Coptis japonica Makino, Cimicifuga heracleifolia Komarov, and white Poria cocos and assessed their physiological effect. As results, the blended extracts showed excellent cell migration effect at 400 ug/mL concentration, compared to the single extract. In addition, the blended extracts enhanced immune function by increasing the activity of dendritic cells and showed the highest antioxidant activity by DPPH assay and HPLC-ABTS assay. In this study, we developed a new materials that can be applicable to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals field by applying oriental medicine theory.

Article 10 of the Constitution All citizens have dignity and values as humans and have the right to pursue happiness. There is a need for support measures such as a means to realize the respect of dignity and values as humans, and how to efficiently maintain policies on welfare for the elderly classified as the socially disadvantaged. It was considered necessary to develop an elderly-friendly city for economic, physical, and social life. Dasan Jeong Yak-yong's respect for adults was to practice the ideology of Confucianism, so this was the most important thing in the past Joseon Dynasty. In particular, it was considered important to think of adults first in practicing filial piety. This study focuses on the long-term care insurance system for the elderly, one of the welfare policy measures for the elderly. The significance of implementing the long-term care insurance system for the elderly is to benefit not only the elderly, but also all generations, including the middle-aged and children who were in charge of long-term care. To this end, the government should properly manage the factors of the social insurance financial crisis caused by the low birth rate and aging population. In addition, concerns about health insurance are high, so it is necessary to secure an appropriate level of government budget for health insurance financial management and minimize unnecessary non-benefit. In addition, it is necessary to induce appropriate medical use through connection with construction medical insurance.
This thesis investigates the cultural meanings of the first optical instrument, Camera obscura, in the pre-modern age, while it explains the development as well as the use of the Camera obscura in Europe and Korea. For this purpose the thesis traces the significant phases of the historical developments of the Camera obscura from L. da Vinci, G. B. della Porta, D. Barbaro, A. Kircher to J. Zahn etc. The Camera obscura was not only the symbolic instrument of the modernism in the sense that human being wanted to observe the outer world by himself and to be freed from the viewpoint of the christianity, but also was the forerunner of the modern visual culture, because it first time reproduced the artificial image of the natural world. Since the second half of the 17th century the box-type reflex Camera obscura had been produced, it began to be used as aid to drawing for painters like J. Vermeer, A. Canaletto and J. Reynolds etc. throughout Europe. It tells the evidence of the close relation between art and technology in the pre-modern age. Around the end of the 18th century the Camera obscura was brought to Korea, the closed country of the Fareast, by the scholars of the so-called 'Realist school' (Silhak-pa) who went to Beijing to acquire knowledges on the Western science from the European priests. In 1780s Yak-yong JUNG, one of the representative scholars of the Realist school, experimented the Camera obscura, and then, it was used for sketches of higher aristocrats' portraits by the supreme portrait painter of that time, Myoung-ki LEE. Those were possible only under the reign of the culturally liberal and reformative King, Jung-jo (ruled 1776-1800), and after his retreatment the inquiry of the Camera obscura had been dimished. It is not a historical coincidence that the Camera obscura could be examined and used in the period of the Enlightment both in Europe and Korea.

So we can understand human physiology and pathology through I Ching. But it's important to understand it was organized by symbols. The main symbols are Ba-Gua(八卦), 12 Bi-Gua, Zai-Ruo-zhi-Gua(再閏之卦), 50 Yan-Gua(50衍卦) and these symbols originated from the imagess of the four seasons. The image of 12 Bi-Gua coincide with 12 jing-lao(經絡), the images of Zai-Ruo-zhi-Gua(再閏之卦) coinside with Ren-mai(任脈), Du-mai(督脈). 12 Bi-Gua and Zai-Ruo-zhi-Gua(再閏之卦) are fundamental stuffs, on the other hand 50 Yan-Gua(50衍卦) is an application of every phenomenon.
The purpose of this study was to accept its contents as lessons for today and to search for the correct way to lead home economy of the future by way of retranslating home economic view in literatures and documents of Cho-sun Dynasty(1392-1910) Through studying Cho-sun's literatures and documents: 「Ne-hun」 by the queen So He 「Kyou-dyoung-yo-ram」by Lee Whang 「Kyung-mong-yo-kul」by Lee Yul 「Song-ho-sa-sul」by Lee IK 「Sa-so-jol」by Lee Duk Moo「Buk-hak-ee」 by Park Je Ka 「Mok-min-sim-su」 by Jung Yak Yong. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. The view of income: 1) Cut down on the too much greed of property (property income) 2) Work hard with diligence(earned income). 2. 1. "Regulation for about kind of formularies of Korean traditional herbaland preparation method"(Ministry of Health and Welfare No. 1995-15, 95. 3. 15) and "Regulation for review safety and efficacy of drugs. Article 2. 1 Clause 10." should revise "Sasanguihak(四象醫學)" by "Donguisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)" that is the name of book. 2. "Regulation for review safety and efficacy of drugs. Article 2. 1 Clause 10." was defining 'The 11 established formularies of Korean traditional herbal medicine volumes' "Donguisusebowon" that is defined as "The 11 established formularies of Korean traditional herbal medicine volumes" is "Susebowon(壽世保元)" that the Ming period Gong jung-hyun writes. Otherwise, mistake that "Donguisusebowon" of Lee Jema(李濟馬) was recorded 2 times occurs. Therefore, "Susebowon" of "The 11 established formularies of Korean traditional herbal medicine volumes" is that "Susebowon" of the Ming period Gong Jung-hyun writes 3. "yaksungga(藥性歌)" is nonbook in "The 11 established formularies of Korean traditional herbal medicine volumes" and should be erase. Because basis is ambiguous. 4. "The 11 established formularies of Korean traditional herbal medicine volumes" must revise by 10 kinds in "Regulation for about kind of formularies of Korean traditional herbaland preparation method" and "Regulation for review safety and efficacy of drugs. Article 2." The kinds should be revised by "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)", "jejungsinpyeon(濟衆新編)", "Euihakipmoon(醫學入門)", "kyungakjeonse(景岳全書)", "Susebowon", "Bonchogangmok(本草鋼目)", "Bangyakhappyeon(方樂合編)", "Hyangyakjipseongbang(鄕樂集成方)", "Gwangjebigeup" and "Donguisusebowon".
