Recurrent spontaneous hemarthrosis is a relatively rare complication of total knee arthroplasty. This paper reports a case of a patient treated with arterial embolization for recurrent spontaneous hemarthrosis even after undergoing arthroscopic surgery. The patient had several relapses after total knee arthroplasty.

As the elderly population increases, the incidence of lumbar fusion is increasing, and there has been increasing interest in rapid rehabilitation and functional recovery after surgery. Enhanced recovery after surgery program and multimodal pain control methods can reduce the complications and allow rapid recovery. Various methods have been used to increase the fusion.

An increasing number of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty procedures has been performed since its introduction to South Korea in 2007. This review discusses the biomechanical rationale behind the development of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty and its outcomes over time. In addition, this paper mentions ways to minimize the risk of complications that may occur and how to manage those complications.

Nerve torsion is a rare condition that causes sensory abnormalities and decreased muscle strength due to a nerve-twisting phenomenon in the peripheral nerves. To date, the progression of the condition from its cause to diagnosis and treatment has not been established. The authors report three cases of good results from the treatment of nerve torsion in the anterior interosseous and radial nerves with epineurotomy and neurolysis.

Klebsiella pneumoniae causes that liver abscess mostly, also spread to pneumonia, meningitis, urinary tract infections. Septic arthritis caused by K. pneumoniae is a quite rare and has not been reported in Korea. Therefore, the authors report a case of the septic arthritis in the knee joint caused by K. pneumoniae in a patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus and osteoarthritis of the knee that successfully treated by early detection and arthroscopic synovectomy.

The incidence of postoperative ileus (POI) after colonic and abdominal surgery is high. On the other hand, the reported incidence after lower extremity reconstruction ranges from 0.3% to 4.0%. This paper reports an 81-year-old woman who expired due to POI at six days after primary total knee arthroplasty. The risk factors, diagnosis, preventive methods, and treatment of POI were also investigated through literature reviews.

Schwannomas are benign neoplasms with a Schwann cell origin. A plexiform schwannoma is a rare variant of a schwannoma with a plexiform or multinodular growth pattern. The condition occurs mostly as a solitary lesion in the skin or subcutaneous tissue, or uncommonly located in the deep soft tissue. We report a rare case of recurred multiple plexiform schwannomas arising from the posterior tibial nerve and its branch, which was located in a deep anatomic location and accompanied by a bony deformity.

The treatment of a brachymetacarpia using conventional distraction osteogenesis requires holding an external fixator following distraction for stability, which causes prolonged discomfort that adversely affects the patient's daily activities. This paper reports a case of a 20-year-old male of brachymetacarpia treated with distraction osteogenesis combined with a plate reducing the period of an external fixator, allowing rapid return to the daily activities, and presenting good clinical results.

Hemarthrosis occurring after arthroscopic surgery for lesions of the shoulder joint is a very rare complication that can develop due to an injury to the blood vessels when an anterior portal is formed. This is a complication that rarely develops in patients who are taking antithrombotic drugs or who do not have associated diseases, such as thrombocytopenia. We report a case of hemarthrosis that occurred after performing arthroscopic surgery to repair a rotator cuff tear in a patient with a stenosis in an arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis in the ipsilateral upper arm.

The review provides updated concepts regard to the anatomy of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) footprints. The concept of anatomical ACL reconstruction, in which the graft is placed in the native ACL insertion area, has been introduced. However, there is still no consensus on the anatomical positioning of the femoral and tibial tunnel. In this study, authors review and update the literature regarding the tunnel position for anatomical ACL reconstruction.
