  • The purpose of this study was to review and analyze JEMM(The Journal of Economics, Marketing, and Management) of ICMA(The International Convergence Management Association) and all of published articles of 2013 to 2016 and to revise and update the existing publication strategies in order to improve the internationalization and reputation of JEMM. JEMM of ICMA is a new academic journal of Korea Distribution Science Association(KODISA). It is still in its early stage as it is founded in 2013 as an academic journal to increase an recognition through KCI Candidate application under National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF). It endeavors its efforts to be recognized as a reputable international journal. This study was conducted to confirm the current status of JEMM in the current standards and to establish a strategic process to complement the deficiencies and achieve the goals. JEMM of ICMA has three distinguished features of online submission and review system, only English-based papering, reviewing by anonymous refrees. JEMM of ICMA continuously revised and updated its publication standards and practices and adopted technological support systems to enable its journals to remain independent and open access in order to ultimately become one of the most international journals.

  • The Korean Astronomical Data Center(KADC) in Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) has developed a database of astronomical journals published by the Korean Astronomical Society and the Korean Space Science Society. It consists of all bibliographic records of the Journal of the Korean Astronomical Society(JKAS), Publication of the Korean Astronomical Society(PKAS), and Journal of Astronomy & Space Sciences(JASS). The KADC provides useful search functions in the search page such as search criterion of bibcode, publication date, author names, title words, or abstract words. The journal name is one of the search criterion in which more than one journal can be designated at the same time. The criterion of author name is provided bilingually: English or Korean. The abstract and full text can be downloaded as PDF files. It is also possible to search papers related to a specific research topic published in Korean astronomical journals, provided by the KADC, which often cannot be found the worldwide, Astrophysics Data System(ADS) services. The KADC will become basic infrastructure for the systematic construction of bibliographic records, and hence, make the society of Korean astronomers more interactive and collaborative.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the Banks's Examination of Documents in the L/C Transactions. Most of all, this article deals with one of most important aspects of the law on documentary credits, namely, the compliance of documents presented with the terms and conditions of a letter of credit. In addition, the general principles of strict compliance will be considered and in the next, the requirements of specific documents such as invoices, transport documents and insurance policies. This area of letter of credit law is shaped not only by judge-made decisions but also the articles of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the International Standard Banking Practice(ISBP Publication No.745) prepared by the Banking Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce as well as the position papers and opinions of the latter. Whether a document complies with the terms of a letter of credit is essentially a matter of examination and construction of the document in question against the terms of the letter of credit under which it is presented, articles of the UCP, ISBP as well as the opinions and statements of the Banking Committee. Most of all this article was focused on provisions of UCP600. Comparison with provisions of UCP500 have been drawn where appropriate.

  • Research in interdisciplinary fields like biomechanics is published in a variety of journals whose visibility depends on bibliometric indexing that is often driven by citation analysis of bibliometric databases. This study documented variation in publication metrics and research subject categories assigned to 14 biomechanics journals. Authors, citation, and citation rate (CR) were collected for the top 15 cited articles in the journals retrieved from the Google Scholar service. Research subject categories were also extracted for journals from three databases (Dimensions, Journal Citation Reports, and Scopus). Despite the focus on biomechanics for the journals studied, these biomechanics journals have widely varying CR and subject categories assigned to them. There were significant (p=0.001) and meaningful (77-108%) differences in median CR between average, low, and high CR groups of these biomechanics journals. Since CR are primary data used to calculate most journal metrics and there is no one biomechanics subject category, field normalization for journal citation metrics in biomechanics is difficult. Care must be taken to accurately interpret most citation metrics of biomechanics journals as biased proxies of general usage of research, given a specific database, time frame, and area of biomechanics research.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to review the recent research trends of evidence based medicine, especially human randomized controlled trials on acupuncture. Methods : The articles were collected by retrieving the database of Pubmed and Journal of Korean Acupuncture & Moxibustion Society. The retrieving period was from October 2003 to September 2008, and the search term was 'acupuncture'. The articles were classified according to their publication journals, countries, publication years, targeted diseases, types of acupuncture and types of control. Results : In total, 558 articles in Pubmed and 35 articles in Journal of Korean Acupuncture & Moxibustion Society were searched. The number of articles on acupuncture research has increased with higher rate since 2000, but the Qualitative development has not achieved the same amplitude. Studies in Korea were insufficient both in Qualitative and Quantitative aspects. In countries, China had the most papers, and in targeted diseases, pain diseases were most dominant. In the types of acupuncture, classical acupuncture, and in the types of control, conventional western treatment showed the highest frequency. Conclusions: We need to do many-sided and more high Quality researches on acupuncture. For that, well-designed randornized trials are absolutely necessary.

  • Objective : The aim of this study is to analyze the recent research of Korean Medicine(KM) public health promotion programs in Korea. Method : We searched the study using Korean Medicine Information System, Research Information Service System and Korean Studies Information Service. We analyzed studies by research content, publication year and type of journal. Results : Analysis by research contents, it was divided into survey research, policy research, development research and evaluation research. Analysis by publication year, little research had been conducted from 1990 until 2000 and most of the research was done since 2000. Analysis by type of journal, 53% of studies published by journals related with KM. Conclusion : Development and evaluation research of KM public health promotion programs should be actively conducted. It is also need to establish the foundation in which KM public health promotion programs would be expanded not only KM field but also in other fields.

  • In this paper, we design and implement KISTI-ACOMS 2.0, extended from its previous version, applicable to all the academic societies by integrating new concepts, functions and services. KISTI-ACOMS 2.0 provides membership management, paper review management, replaces most extensive customizing with configuration, and supports a variety of unique features such as English service for foreign authors and reviewers, similar article search for preventing piracy and user access control, which are difficult to be implemented in the existing systems being used by Korean societies. Therefore, many academic societies can configure KISTI-ACOMS 2.0 more easily and promptly, and manage their own business such as society administration and journal publication online more effectively.
