An Empirical Study on Factors Influencing the Acceptance of Intranet in Korean Companies (국내 기업의 인트라넷 수용특성에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • Individual adoption and sustained usage of information technology(IT) are crucial prerequisites for exploiting IT as integral components of organizational work. Previous studies on technology adoption in workplace suggest that acceptance behavior is influenced by a variety of factors such as individual differences, social influences, beliefs, attitudes, and situational influences. In this paper, we introduce a research model to predict the usage behavior of intranet in workplace and also explain the causal relationships among variables. Based on the survey of 333 intranet users, this study uses structural equation model with LISREL 8.12. This study suggests several major results from surveys and analysis from them. Perceived use is influenced by intranet experience, task equivocality, organizational support, and perceived ease of use, Experience and organizational support determine perceived ease of use. Task equivocality, task interdependence, and organizational support have positive effects on subjective norm. On the other hand, present usage, which is a dependent variable in this model, is influenced by perceived use, experience, task interdependence, and organizational support.

  • Frauds detection is a difficult problem, requiring huge computer resources and complicated search activities Researchers have struggled with the problem. Even though a fee research approaches have claimed that their solution is much better than others, research community has not found 'the best solution'well fitting every fraud. Because of the evolving nature of the frauds. a novel and self-adapting method should be devised. In this research a new approach is suggested to solving frauds in insurance claims credit card transaction. Based on evolutionary computing approach, the method is itself self-adjusting and evolving enough to generate a new self of decision-makin rules. We believe that this new approach will provide a promising alternative to conventional ones, in terms of computation performance and classification accuracy.

Feeding Habits of Bluefin Searobin Chelidonichthys spinosus around Jeju Island (제주 주변 해역에 서식하는 성대 (Chelidonichthys spinosus)의 식성)

  • The feeding ecology of bluefin searobin Chelidonichthys spinosus around Jeju Island was examined. Specimens were caught every autumn from 2004 to 2007. The primary prey items of C. spinosus included fish, shrimp, and crabs. Chelidonichthys spinosus preyed upon a wide range of sub-pelagic crustacean groups(e.g., Leptochela gracilis, Leptochela sydniensis). This species was also an opportunistic feeder, exploiting the available prey groups in each area(i.e., L. gracilis in the South Sea and East China Sea groups and L. gracilis and L. sydniensis in the Yellow Sea group). The main prey group of this species changed from demersal shrimp to pelagic shrimp with prey environmental changes. Observed ontogenetic shifts in diet were relatively clear despite substantial overlap between the 10 cm and 20 cm C. spinosus groups.

  • Resins using recycled PET offer the possibility of a lower source cost of materials for making useful polymer concrete products. The purposed of this paper is to propose the model for the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete at monotonic uniaxial compression and is to investigate for the stress-strain behavior characteristics of recycled-PET polymer concrete with different variables(strength, resin contents, curing conditions, addition of silane and ages). The maximum stress and strain of recycled-PET polymer concrete was found to increase with an increase in resin content, however, it decreased beyond a particular level of resin content. A ascending and descending branch of stress-strain curve represented more sharply at high temperature curing more than normal temperature curing. In addition, results show that the proposed model accurately predicts the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete.

  • This paper describes the EMTP/ATP Draw modeling HVDC submarine cable. HVDC submarine cables consist of conductor, lead sheath and amore. It is different from general cable which is composed with just conductor and aluminium sheath. Therefore, the transient characteristics are totally different between HVDC submarin cable and general cable. However, the study on HVDC cable modeling and Transient are insufficient. In this paper, characteristic and effectiveness of HVDC Submarine Cable through Transient analysis. Therefore it is evaluated that the application of HVDC Submarine cable at the field should be considered cautiously when more detailed transient analysis, another electrical testes and economic evaluations are implemented.

  • This paper introduces a map building algorithm which can collect environmental information using ultrasonic sensors. And also this paper discusses a traveling algorithm using environmental information which leads to the map building algorithm. In order to accomplish the proposed traveling algorithm, this paper additionally discusses a path revision algorithm. For verifying the proposed algorithms, several experiments are executed using a mobile robot physically designed in this paper. The conclusion is that the proposed algorithm is very effective and is applicable to mobile robots especially requiring a low-cost environmental information.

  • One of the requirements for autonomous vehicles on off-road is to move stably in unstructured environments. Such capacity of autonomous vehicles is one of the most important abilities in consideration of mobility. So, many researchers use contact and/or non-contact methods to determine a terrain whether the vehicle can move on or not. In this paper we introduce an algorithm to classify terrains using visual information(one of the non-contacting methods). As a pre-processing, a contrast enhancement technique is introduced to improve classification of terrain. Also, for conducting classification algorithm, training images are grouped according to materials of the surface, and then Bayesian classification are applied to new images to determine membership to each group. In addition to the classification, we can build Traversability map specified by friction coefficients on which autonomous vehicles can decide to go or not. Experiments are made with Load-Cell to determine real friction coefficients of various terrains.

  • In this study, a new technique for detecting near miss using 4M risk assessment method is suggested. Until now, the safety education with instances of near miss has just been progressed in most industrial settings, without any systematic guideline. By menas of appling 4M risk assessment method, the organized technique, which could effectively manage the fundamental prevention of industrial accident in advance, is developed. The organized technique of near miss-management suggested in this study will take an effective role in basically expanding the application of risk assessment method, as well as in contributing the activity of zero-accident as a safety guideline in hazardous workshops.

Interaction of a 22 kDa Peptidyl Prolyl cis/trans Isomerase with the Heat Shock Protein DnaK in Vibrio anguillarum

  • Peptidyl prolyl cis/trans isomerases (PPIases) catalyze the cis/trans isomerization of peptidyl-prolyl peptide bonds preceding prolines. We investigated the protein-protein interaction between a 22 kDa PPIase (VaFKBP22, an FK506-binding protein) and the molecular chaperone DnaK derived from Vibrio anguillarum O1 (VaDnaK) using GST pull-down assays and a bacterial two-hybrid system for in vivo and in vitro studies, respectively. Furthermore, we analyzed the three-dimensional structure of the protein-protein interaction. Based on our results, VaFKBP22 appears to act as a cochaperone of VaDnaK, and contributes to protein folding and stabilization via its peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerization activity.
