  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations between the segments of the body and to qualitatively analyze coordination pattern of joints and segments during Sweep Shot movement in Ice Hockey, by utilizing coordination variables was angle vs. angle plots. By the utilization the three dimensional anatomical angle cinematography, the angles of individual joint and segment according to sweep shot in ice hockey. The subjects of this study were five professional ice hockey players. The reflective makers were attached on anatomical boundary line of body. For the movement analysis three dimensional cinematographical method(APAS) was used and for the calculation of the kinematic variables a self developed program was used with the LabVIEW 6.1 graphical programming(Johnson, 1999) program. By using Eular's equations the three dimensional anatomical Cardan angles of the joint and ice hockey stick were defined. The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement and coordination pattern of trunk and Upper limb(shoulder-elbow, elbow-wrist linked system) showed important role of sweep shot in ice hockey. As the result of this paper, for the successful movement of sweep shot in ice hockey, it is most important role of coordination pattern of trunk-shoulder, shoulder-elbow and elbow-wrist. specially turnk movememt as a proximal segment. Coordination pattern of Upper Limb(upperarm-forearm-hand) of Sweep Shot movement in Ice Hockey that utilizes coordination variables seems to be one of useful research direction to understand basic control mechanisms of Ice hockey sweep shooting linked system skill. this study result showed flexion-extension, adduction-abduction and internal-external rotation of trunk are important role of power and shooting direction coordination pattern of upper Limb of Sweep Shot movement in Ice Hockey.

  • Exercise is an important strategy for health promotion in patients having osteoarthritis. But, lots of patients with osteoarthritis were underexercised. Exercise pattern and influencing factors of exercise barrier are not well-known. To address this issue, we studied the exercise pattern and influencing factors of exercise barrier in patients with osteoarthritis. The subjects of the study were 463 adult osteoarthritis (Mean age = 61.63 years) who had diagnosed osteoarthritis by rheumatologist. Data were gathered from May 1999 to February 2000 using a questionnaire and exercise barrier(Sallis et al, 1989), exercise pattern(Lee et al., 2000), physical status by WOMAC(Bellamy, 1989), socail support(Sallis et al., 1989), fatigue and pain using graphic rating scale, depression by CES-D(Radloff,1977). Data were analyzed with the SPSS win 6.0 using frequency, ANOVA, Stepwise multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1) 56.4% of sample was 'do not exercise at all', 'longer rest than exercise', was 15.9%, 'longer exercise than rest' was 7.2%, 'exercise regularly' was 20.5%. 2) Social support (F=10.349, p=0.000) and exercise barrier(F=4.455, p=0.004) were showed significantly difference by exercise pattern. 3) Influencing factors of exercise barrier were depression and social support. Thoses explained 13.3% of exercise barrier. In conclusion, half of osteoarthritis patient did not do exercise and it was shown that depression and social support were major influencing factors to exercise barrier. The results of this study can be applied to develop the health promoting educational program for patients with osteoarthritis.

  • In this work, in order to realize the possible defects at the cable joint interface, four different types of artificial defects are provided : conducting, insulating substances, void and scratches. The analysis related to the PD patterns has been performed by means of conventional Phase Resolved Partial Discharge Analysis (PRPDA) and Chaotic Analysis of Partial Discharge (CAPD) as well which was proposed by our previous communication. As a result, it could be pointed out that each defect has shown particular characteristics in its pattern respectively and that the nature of defect causing partial discharge could be identified more distinctively when the CAPD is combined with the conventional statistic method, PRPDA.

  • This case study was peformed to assess the effectiveness of taping therapy for the patient who have delayed onset muscle soreness(DOMS ). The results were as follows: 1. Pain degree of VAS was decreased at every taping therapy. 2. The range of motion of ankle joint was increased at every taping therapy. 3. Diameter of calf muscle was increased at every taping therapy. 4. Pattern of gait was normalized at every taping therapy. We found improve of pain degree, ROM of ankle joint, diameter of calf muscle, and pattern of gait. Therefore we can infer that taping therapy had effectiveness to those who had DOMS.

  • HFPD(High Frequency Partial Discharge) measurement has been widely performed to diagnose cable system in the world. Shin-Yeongdeungpo 345kV XLPE line was successfully diagnosed by PD measurement methode last year. Moreover, aged power cable lines which were installed 15 years ago have been tested from this year. In this paper, the result of PD diagnosis for aged 154kV cable line is reported. The PD pattern from TMJ which was monitored by PD measurement system for several days showed typical void pattern. The joint was replaced and voids between semi-conductor layer and insulating layer in the joint was founded.

  • Precast concrete slab track is a track structure to be installed by transporting and assembling precast concrete slabs manufactured at the factory. This method can improve concrete quality, provide easy maintenance and reduce construction time, compared with in-situ concrete track. However, the concrete slabs being continuously connected in longitudinal direction, due to the temperature change between summer and winter, the openings at slab joints have occurred. Thus, in this study, to identify the cause of this opening of slab joint, the joint opening caused by temperature drop in the longitudinally continuous precast concrete slab track has been predicted using three-dimensional finite element analysis, and compared with field measurements. Based on the proven model, the slab joint opening, and the stress pattern of concrete slab and steel reinforcement according to concrete slab-base friction properties, concrete-reinforcement bond properties, and prestressing were analyzed.

  • A real-time joint transform correlator by using JPEG-compressed reference images is proposed as practical solution to storage problem and improvement of processing time of automatic target recognition system [1]. Effects of compression on recognition performance of join transform correlator are quantitatively investigated under situations where the target is suffered from noise and has contrast difference with respect to the reference. Two images with different spatial-frequency contents and contrast were used as the test scenes. The simulation results show that, the recognition performance of joint transform correlator by using the compressed reference images with high spatial-frequency components is more sensitive to noise and contrast difference than the low spatial-frequency image.

  • In this paper, elastic and inelastic behavior of exterior joint of moment-resisting R.C frame with non-seismic detail subjected to reversed cyclic lateral load such as earthquake excitations was investigated. 1/2-scals subassemblage exterior beam-column joint including slab was manufactured based on similitude law. Then, pseudo static test under the displacement control was performed. The results of 1)crack pattern and failure mode, 2)degradation stiffness and strength, energy dissipation capacity from load-displacement hysteresis curve, 3)strain of steel were analysed.

  • Generally, the laser vision sensor makes it possible design a highly reliable and precise range sensor at a low cost. When the laser vision sensor is applied to lap joint welding, however. there are many limitations. Therefore, a specially-designed hardware system has to be used. However, if the multi-lines are used instead of a single line, multi-range data .:an be generated from one image. Even under a set condition of 30fps, the generated 2D range data increases depending on the number of lines used. In this study, a laser vision sensor with a multi-line pattern is developed with conventional CCD camera to carry out high speed seam tracking in lap joint welding.
